This form covers individuals with relative insulin deficiency and peripheral insulin resistance. Physical exercise is an efficient therapeutic strategy for the treatment of people with DM2 as it contributes to glycemic control, as well as reducing cardiovascular risk factors, increasing physical fitness, contributing to body weight control and improving people's quality of life. Objective: Formulate a physical exercise protocol aimed at health professionals for the treatment and maintenance of glycemic control of adults with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Methodology: The study consists in the elaboration of the protocol from a rapid review in search of studies who investigated the effects of physical exercise on the glycemic control of adults with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM2) to analyze which exercise parameters (modality, frequency, volume, intensity, interval and progression) are recommended to achieve better glycemic control in the population of interest. The PICOT strategy was adopted for the elaboration of the inclusion criteria of the studies and the PRISMA protocol for the writing of the manuscript. PubMed and LILACS databases were used. The study selection process took place through 4 steps: identification, selection by title and abstract, eligibility assessment and inclusion. Two authors independently extracted data on population, intervention and outcome from each study, and the extracted information was organized into tables. The methodological quality of each study was analyzed based on the PEDro scale (PROSPERO - CRD 42021262614). Results: From a total of 1152 articles, 17 studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. A total of 1,141 (745 in exercise groups and 396 in sedentary control groups) people with T2DM were included. Regarding the type of study, 15 (88.2%) were randomized clinical trials and 2 (11.8%) were non-randomized clinical trials. The age of patients ranged from 45.6 to 61.7 years. The mean intervention time was 17 weeks, ranging from 9 to 48 weeks. Six studies 35.3% reported that no adverse events occurred during the intervention, two (11.8%) reported some event and nine (52.9%) did not present any information. The theoretical basis obtained from the rapid review and other studies supported the construction of a guidance protocol for professionals about physical exercise as a treatment for DM2 and management of glycemic control. The following elements were elaborated: frameworks of concepts, flowcharts and explanatory texts constructed with objective and easy-to-understand language as didactic tools in order to assist in the outpatient routine of professionals responsible for prescribing exercises in the management of patients treated at all levels of care of the Unified Health System (SUS). Discussion: Aerobic, resistance and combined training are associated with decreases in HbA1c, fasting glucose or postprandial glucose. however, combined training should be prioritized as they appear to have greater effects on glycemic control than either method alone. Conclusion: The protocol created from this review aims to offer professionals working at the various levels of health care in the SUS, updated, objective information, presented in a didactic way about physical exercise as a form of treatment for DM2. This problem, the Serious Games, shows how the aid tool in the patient recovery process is applied to physical therapists, who use virtual reality as a motivating element in the patient recovery process. This paper presents the design and evaluation process of a serious game aimed at motor rehabilitation or which has been evaluated by professionals and patients and shows relevant results in tests of ease of learning, efficiency, level of inconsistencies, user satisfaction and ease of memorization. through the use of the System Usability Scale (SUS). The experimental study aimed to elaborate a physiotherapeutic device capable of generating positive expiratory pressure for patients in spontaneous breathing and evaluating their mechanical performance. The composition of the physiotherapeutic device consisted of 14 components, produced in aluminum and plastic, allowing to present characteristics of a flow-dependent non-gravitational resistor. The pressures obtained through the high flux flowmeter model Certifir® FA TSI (TSI Corporated, USA) had influence of the orifice strength with diameters of 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0mm, five-piston weights (1.5; 1.6, 2.0, 3.2 and 3.8g) and constant flows of 3, 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12L/min or piston firing flow. Among the five pistons, the piston 4 (3.2g) presented a better statistically significant result, reaching a pressure of 20cmH2O with flows of 8.16L/min, for the 1.5mm diameter bore. The proposed PEP device can generate therapeutic pressures between 10 and 20cmH2O, through a variation of low expiratory flows. It presents as singular characteristic the association of the diameter of the orifice with the weight of the piston to generate the positive pressure. In addition to motor symptoms, PD patients have non-motor symptoms that drastically affect their quality of life. These include cognitive alterations, among which deficits in working memory, deficits in executive functions and in the ability to deduce the mental states of others (Theory of Mind: ToM) stand out, and may also be related to the functions of mirror neurons (MN). The MN are neurons activated when a person performs or observes a given action, thus performing “internal” simulation of the observed acts, a necessary process for the ability to recognize emotions and intentions in the ToM. Their activity is influenced by prior training of observed motor actions and can be recorded using electroencephalography (EEG) through changes in the Mu band wave amplitudes (alpha 1 waves) detected when an individual observes the actions of another person. The present work investigated the effects of motor therapy on electroencephalographic activity and its correlations with MT functions in patients affected by PD. For this purpose, electroencephalographic evaluations were performed to investigate desynchronization patterns characteristic of mirror neuron activity, in addition to the Reading the Mind in the Eyes (RME) and Faux Pas Recognition (FPR) tests. We evaluated patients diagnosed with PD (n=09), under pharmacological regimen, Hoehn and Yahr 2-4, of both sexes and with mean age of 62.9 ± 7.1 years and mean of 5.8 ± 1.3 years of diagnosis , in time windows before joining the project after twelve months of participation in 2 weekly sessions of motor therapy in dance. Tabulated data were analyzed using Student's t-test. No significant differences were observed in the evaluation parameters of the FPR test in the Test and Retest temporal windows, whereas in the RMT test the average score obtained by the participants in the Test was 9.7 points, while in the Retest the average was 11.3 points with observed significance (p=0.0148), whereas electroencephalographic statistical analysis (TRPs) showed significant results in the level of desynchronization of alpha 1 waves (p=0.014 and p=0.010) during specific electrophysiological evaluation. The data showed that although the individuals did not show improvement in performance in most components of the analyzed TM tests, the electrophysiological results indicate alteration of specific cortical activity related to the activation of the mirror neuron system, influenced by motor therapy in dance, which may configure then, as an adjuvant therapeutic option in the management of motor and non-motor symptoms of PD.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Viabilidade e eficácia da telerreabilitação e da cartilha de exercícios para pessoas com doença de Parkinson residentes em uma região da Amazônia brasileira: um ensaio clínico randomizado(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-12) RAMOS, Luciana Fernandes Pastana; YAMADA, Elizabeth Sumi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7240314827308306; LOBATO, Bruno Lopes SantosParkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive neurodegenerative disorder, and the current treatment involves pharmacological intervention and physiotherapy. Telerehabilitation, which involves remote support and guidance for patients undergoing rehabilitation, can potentially improve access to physiotherapy services for people with Parkinson's disease, especially those who face geographic barriers to healthcare. The primary aim of this study was to assess the feasibility and efficacy of a telerehabilitation program for people with Parkinson's disease living in an underrepresented community of the Brazilian Amazon. We conducted a parallel-group, single-center, single-blind, randomized clinical trial involving 19 participants diagnosed with Parkinson's disease from Belém, Brazil. Participants were assigned to a 4-week individual telerehabilitation program or a booklet-based exercise program (control group). Assessments were conducted before the intervention, immediately after the intervention, and 4 weeks after the end of the intervention. We showed that our telerehabilitation program had high adherence among patients, with minimal adverse effects. Both telerehabilitation and booklet orientation reduced the time to complete the Timed Up and Go test. In conclusion, our telerehabilitation or booklet-based exercise program was feasible and effective for people with Parkinson's disease in an Amazonian setting.
