Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Alegorias do sofrimento e da resistência: disposições afetivas da política em imagens fotográficas(Associação Nacional dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação, 2022-06) LAGE, Leandro RodriguesThe purpose of the text is to present the general lines of an epistemological and also a methodological proposal for the debate on images, considered affective expressions of indignation, conviction and desire. It seeks to examine photographs of the artistic and photojournalistic regimes as allegories of the suffering and resistance of the Amazonian peoples, with the intention of discussing how these images manage and give visible and sensitive expression to experiences of suffering, to physiognomies of historical time, to survivals of the desire and political subjectivations. This proposal starts from the experimentalism of knowledge through allegories, rehearsing the theoretical-methodological productivity of the benjaminian allegorical episteme in the legibility of the images and tensioning the forms, correspondences, temporalities and conventions in the examination of images that offer an apprehension of history as an anachrony of sufferings and fights. The background to this approach is the inextricable link between image and politics.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Campina: um filme em processo...(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-01-15) CORREIA, Rodrigo José Castro; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This memorial of artistic poetics aims to reflect on the process of creating the film Campina. It is the construction and idealization of a hybrid documentary or also known as docuficção in which both aspects of the documentary genre and fiction come together. The film, in general, addresses the landscape of the Campina neighborhood in Belém and its multiple aspects, and this landscape is composed of symbolic and residual elements such as architecture, monuments, signs and shop signs, accompanied by the human landscape, its inhabitants who make the daily life of Campina, a commercial district. To reflect on this process of procedural realization of the film, we used the authors Claudia Mesquita, (2011), the concept of unfinished gesture by Cecília Salles (2014), showing that the creation process is always active and never ceases. In addition, the research aims to reveal and point out relations of power and domination in the neighborhood landscape, using the concept of landscape invention according to Anne Cauquelin's thought and Pierre Bourdieu's symbolic power.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A casa de Marlene(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-06-29) NASCIMENTO, Suely da Silva; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This memorial presents the research “Marlene’s House”, which I developed in the Academic Master of Arts, Graduate Program in Arts, Institute of Art Sciences, Federal University of Pará. family and affective memories, in which photos, videos, audios, writings, feelings and emotions merge. The course is divided into moments experienced before and during the academy. I report the contribution of the disciplines and the production of articles. I talk about the construction of this poetics perceived in this path and tale about the day to day of the making of the research. My way of doing poetry, my mother’s schoolbook as the image that generates this whole process, the experimentation of creating an artist’s book and the photograph of my mother’s house complete this memorial. As well as my thoughts that there is still a significant poetic material to be worked on, in the future.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cenas e cenários das questões socioambientais: mediações pela fotografia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-09-21) SANTOS, Manuella Teixeira; SOUZA FILHO, Erasmo Borges de; FREITAS, Nádia Magalhães da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2982253212145468The social-environmental issues have consolidated important sources of research from many areas. In turn, social and environmental issues constitute the focus of constant concern of contemporary times, including for Science Education. Moreover, the science education has been based on willingness to contribute to a correct perception of environmental problems, and promote the formation of a critical and autonomous citizen, able to understand the complexity of the natural and social world, approaching these two fields. In this context, we seek to understand the readings of undergraduate students (biology and physics) about environmental issues prevailing in the metropolitan region of Belém, from photography, and its possibilities of use in Science Education in perception them. We choose a qualitative approach and as methodological strategy, we use action research. The research took place during the workshop "Photography in Science Education", strategy for data collection, in six days, with 10 students. The photo appears as an instrument to facilitate the apprehension of social, economic, environmental, political, educational, among others, and permeate the reading of the environment; in other words, favors extended readings (multidimensional) the socio-environmental context evidenced/lived. Data on knowledge, the understandings and interpretations, among other things, were organized and analyzed using discursive textual analysis. We choose to produce metatexts on apprehension of environmental issues, from the analysis of the texts of the photographs. The analysis showed that the students "(re) directed" the present research. In our assessment, the students reached a level "beyond expectations", the trivial, in its construction, the ordinary stagnated up. This is because, during the students' analytical constructs, we observed the extrapolation of these issues, to other fields of knowledge (social, economic, etc.).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cidade (Re)vista : interpretação decolonial da fotografia de Naiara Jinknss em Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-06-14) SANTA BRÍGIDA, Juliane Oliveira; CASTRO, Marina Ramos Neves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6636359546031674This research focused on the imagetic production of the documentary photographer Naiara Jinknss, focusing on the content posted on her Instagram during 2019, in order to understand from a decolonial interpretation the role of her photography as an image of resistance. Therefore, the overall aim seeks to answer the following question: "how can Naiara Jinknss's photographic production be interpreted as an image of resistance within the power relations present in the discourse on the Amazon?". Through netnographic inspirations in Kozinets (2014) and phenomenological-decolonial approach, anchored in the phenomenological sociology of Schutz (1979), the understanding that phenomena and experiences are conditioned to the social and, therefore, transmitted in society was adopted. While exploring research objects that are immersed in the context of a country built by coloniality, it is a fact that the phenomena and experiences analyzed are also involved in what Quijano (1992) calls the colonial matrix of power. Therefore, we seek to develop the articulation of the concepts of Kossoy (2001), Aumont (2002), Fairclough (2001), Bhabha (1998), Hall (2006), Quijano (1992), Mignolo (2015), Maldonado-Torres (2017), among others. The research methodology developed included a bibliographic survey on the Amazon, Power and Photography, in the area of Social Sciences, and multiple stages of online data collection. The relevance of this study is trusted in highlighting the photographic production made by a professional from Pará who identifies with several minority groups in front of a field traditionally marked by power relations that do not contemplate these groups and that is not exempt from discourses and imaginary reproduced on the Amazon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cidade (Re)vista: interpretação decolonial da fotografia de Naiara Jinknss em Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-06-14) SANTA BRÍGIDA, Juliane Oliveira; COSTA, Vânia Maria Torres; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7517564393392394This research focused on the imagetic production of the documentary photographer Naiara Jinknss, focusing on the content posted on her Instagram during 2019, in order to understand from a decolonial interpretation the role of her photography as an image of resistance. Based on the understanding of the city and image, with reference aisthesis concept proposed by James Hillman in the city feel from the expanded notion of psychic reality, anthropological approach discussed by Hans Belting image that distinguishes image and medium, and in dialogue with other authors, we sought to understand what image of the city is developed by photographers research subjects, taking into account the discourses, experiences and photographs of urban environment, outlining a perception of the image of the city. This study was done by means of the assessment, selection and analysis of the work of these photographers that emerged from the 1980s in the artistic context in Belém. The methodological approach used was qualitative and inductive analysis, using the method bibliographic, documentary and semi-structured interviews to survey and knowledge of photographic production of these authors, their discourses and experiences in Belém related to urban themes.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A educação do olhar para as questões socioambientais na formação inicial de professores(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-09-13) COSTA, Adriana Silva Carvalho da; RAPOSO, Elinete Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6737474841439654In order to include socio-environmental issues in the initial training of teachers on Pedagogy degree courses and to discuss the education of the gaze, we used photography as a didactic and awareness-raising tool in this research. Photography acted as a means by which students had the opportunity to ponder, analyze and broaden their view of the urgency of socio-environmental debates in school contexts. To help expand and make these discussions more effective, we introduce an e-book as educational product, which is meant to be a pedagogical tool for teachers in addressing socio-environmental issues to be applied in schools. The participants in this investigation are Pedagogy undergraduate students at a private college located in Benevides, in the state of Pará, Brazil. The present study has a qualitative approach and is based on action research. Data was analyzed using Textual Discourse Analysis (TDA). Its theoretical framework consists of a literature review on socio-environmental issues related to teacher training and the importance of educating the gaze. A questionnaire resulting from the training process was used to compile the research data. The intention of this work is to contribute to initial teacher training focused on educating the gaze towards socio-environmental issues.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Educação pela cidade e formação de professores: mediações fotográficas na apreensão das questões socioambientais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-03-15) SANTOS, Manuella Teixeira; FREITAS, Nádia Magalhães da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2982253212145468; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0042-8640The school does not often interact with the environment of the city, but the approximation between the two is necessary to be favored a greater understanding of the dynamics of the urban environment is favored. The photograph is strong allied in the sense of promoting an approximation of the school with the environment of the city and also in reflection on the look about what surrounds us, favoring the formation of critical citizens and teachers. In this context, I aimed to understand in terms of an education through the city, in the formation of teachers, contributes to the apprehension of socio-environmental issues in contexts of photographic mediations. I chose a qualitative approach, which took place in the discipline of the professional masters in teaching in science and mathematics education. The most significant of the research process was the construction of the Discourses of the Collective Subject (DCS) - in this case four DCS - referring to the city of Belém that arose from readings of photographs that the teachers in training carried out. The contents of the DCS brought several aspects concerning the socio-environmental issues that were discussed by the teachers in training. The formative process was fruitful, observed the following aspects: enlargement the viewed with respect to the multidimensional aspects of the city, resignification of teaching practice and the city as object of study of the school. The teachers, besides having built knowledge about the socioenvironmental issues of Belém, discussed aspects concerning the context of teaching. The analysis of the results allowed to elaborate and defend the following thesis: the education through the city in the formation of teachers, when using the photographic mediations, it presents the possibility of disturbing, provoking, transforming the ways of apprehending, learning and teaching, especially with regard to the unveiling of social and environmental issues, in their critical and reflective apprehension of the city.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fontes fotográficas da Segunda Guerra Mundial no ensino de História: uma proposta de estudo para estudantes e professores(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-08-31) ANAISSE, Marcelo Ribeiro; ALMEIDA, Conceição Maria Rocha de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5784314365587893This work aims to reflect theoretically and methodologically upon the use of photography in the teaching of History, considering the foundations of historical literacy, photography as a historical source and the production of an electronic paradidactic book (e-book) as a possibility of pedagogical tool for students of the High School and teachers. The starting point of this project was the application of a survey among the students of the High School classes of the State School Dr. Ulysses Guimarães, located in the city of Belém, Pará. The data obtained with the survey, in which the students answered questions about their preferred topics and others related to History learning, provided rich material used in analyzes and reflections about the teaching of History. In the survey, there was an indication of interest on the topic of World War II. Considering the interest shown by the consulted students and the aim of deepening theoretical and methodological studies on historical iconographic sources, the choice was to develop a study on photography in World War II in order to reflect upon the possibilities, limits and particularities of the photographic document and its potential for teaching and learning history. As well as written documents, photographs are also significant sources of information and reveal much more than a “portrait” of experienced reality. In order to analyze the documentary richness of photography, developing a methodological study of this type of source is important, and this should be based on theoretical references both from authors who approach photography and from those in the field of history teaching.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fotografia e reterritorialização urbana. Saídas fotográficas e sensibilidade social em Belém(Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro, 2018) CASTRO, Fábio Fonseca de; ARRAES, Raoni Lourenço; CASTRO, Marina Ramos Neves deThe article discusses the relationship between the notion of reterritorialization and the photographic experience, seeking to understand the social experience of photographing the city of Belém in its contexts of meaning: the historical dynamics of what we call the “photographic movement of Belém” and the temporal experiences of the observed subjects. In order to illustrate the problem, a nine-month-long ethnographic research is cut and a “photographic outlet” – an urban tour of photographers, which took place on the night of the Trasladação, which precedes the Círio de Nazaré, in Belém – is followed. The article discusses photography as a process of re-signification and sensitization of the urban space.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uma fotografia, múltiplas imagens: a educação rural no norte do Brasil(2010-12) ARAÚJO, Sônia Maria da SilvaThe article addresses the processes by which schools have been established and institutionalized on extensive-grazing ranches in rural Soure, Marajó Island, Brazil. Emergence of these schools has been tied to large landholdings and to the political relations between ranchers, vaqueiros, and government. Theoretical reflections, social data, and events are placed side-by-side with photographs that depict the fragile state of public education available to children living in the rural areas of far northern Brazil.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Hermenêutica botânica e antropização na Amazônia: exsicatas de verbenáceas da Amazônia Legal no Herbário do New York Botanical Garden(2011-12) GUERRA, Gutemberg Armando Diniz; MENEZES, Maria de Nazaré Angelo; MING, Lin ChauThis article is based on information from a historical series of dried herbarium specimens dating from 1819 to 2002, bringing together contributions from researchers in both governmental and nongovernmental organizations from North and South America as well as from Europe. The focus is on Verbenaceae by its recognized range of aromatic and medicinal species of this family and its recognized use in Brazil. The study examines descriptive and critical notes from the New York Botanical Garden collection relating to the Amazonia, revealing the spirit of cooperation between Brazilian and foreign institutions in this region. Changes in the environment, network of researchers, changes in the language system, technology records and absorption of regional terms are detected over almost two centuries of scientific work that projects the continued training of scientists with local knowledge and interaction.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Identidades submersas: uma análise do cárcere feminino como crônica visual(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-06-17) RODRIGUES, Renata Aguiar; SOUZA, José Afonso Medeiros; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6045766440369156This work research about the women’s condition in their prisoner quotidian, using photographic portraits and oral relate made with the interne women of Centro de Reeducação Feminino – CRF, the only female prison of Pará state, placed on Ananindeua, metropolitan area of Belém city. A foreign image. Just as verbal language that diverge from its everyday use to become essential language. When these opening or folding processes are held, it can be said that these structures undergo a delirium in their senses. Within this perspective, this research is based on the concept of the out to point a pathway from where you may think about these delusional openings of the image, as well as the views of the paradoxes to observe how they happen and the notion of becoming to understand from where they become, in order to show and narrate the interactions that exist between: photo-document, photo-expression, colloquial language and essential language. Existing relationships in the photographic and literary languages, interfaces that are entwined in the research.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Imagens do corpo e da sensualidade na arte contemporanea paraense: o erotismo masculino nas fotografias de Sinval Garcia e Orlando Maneschy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) OLIVEIRA, Adelaide Oliveira de; SOUZA, José Afonso Medeiros; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6045766440369156The proposed theme is the study of the representation of the male body and the characteristics of eroticism in the contemporary paraense photograph. For the study were chosen works from the artists Sinval Garcia (series "Automátic Men") and Orlando Maneschy (series: "Homens de Sangue") produced in the decades of 1990 and 2000. The investigation in the research relied on bibliographic examination on contemporary art, photography, eroticism, and homoeroticism. For this, we used the tests on photograph of Susan Sontag, the study of Charlotte Cotton on photography and contemporary art, in addition of the thought of Kátia Canton on the relationship and implications of image and world, and how this relationship is demonstrated through the body. George Bataille and Afonso Medeiros are references for the study of eroticism. This work aims to contribute to the reflections on the photographic production of Para and in the construction of the national contemporary art’s panorama.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A imprensa ilustrada: uma análise das representações fotográficas em Belém (1910-1920)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-04-25) GOMES, Rodrigo Neves; LACERDA, Franciane Gama; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1007392320101957The research aims to analyze photographs published in newspapers and other printed matter such as albums and magazines that circulated through the city of Belém-PA, in the first decades of the twentieth century. The main newspapers of the period, such as Estado do Pará, Província do Pará and Folha do Norte, started to bring portraits of people and the urban space that accompanied the articles, helping in the understanding and in the idea of credibility of the news transmitted. Many of these photos showed aspects of the city that were different from the way the capital of Pará was represented in the heyday of latex exports. Thus, the images published in the periodicals highlight other angles of the city. Therefore, the dissertation discusses how the representations of some urban aspects of Belém and its residents recorded through photographs, help us to understand the economic, political and social context in which these productions were published, during the so-called rubber crisis.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mulheres Tembé-Tenetehara: entre saias, memórias, subjetividades e fotografias(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-04-27) CARDOSO, Ana Shirley Penaforte; CARDOSO, Denise Machado; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2685857306168366This thesis is the result of an ethnographic study about indigenous women from the Tembé Tenetehara people who live in the Alto Rio Guamá Indigenous Territory (TIARG) in the state of Para, Brazil. This research draws on fieldwork experiences and observations with cultural leader Kuzà'i, shaman Francisca, and information about the late chief Veronica Tembe’s life, who passed away in December 2013. This study uses photography as a tool for interaction and analysis, creating ethnography through visual anthropology lens. This theoretical and methodological approach goal was to observe the convergences between verbal and visual statements that enable us to understand the historically constructed indigenous people identity production from the coloniality perspective, a concept that diverges from how the indigenous themselves perceive their daily lives. This study seeks to reflect on the indigenous women historically constructed symbolic image and analyze this imagistic aspect production that conflict with the indigenous people perspectives, whose comprehension of themselves differs considerably from the version imposed by outsiders. The thesis aims to analyze the Tenetehara women subjectivities in their cultural practices and the historical society movements’ context, which distinguish them from the 305 indigenous people currently living in Brazil, with 275 having "local" languages (IBGE, 2010). These field observations and informations allow us to recognize the historical generalization imposed on indigenous populations in the country, which perpetuates an Eurocentric "Indian" identity, marked by exoticism and neglects these people particularities. This identity is a coloniality power result, a colonial device that permeates history and resonates in contemporary society. Thus, this thesis aims to examine the indigenous women protagonism, using the body-territory concept (CELENTANI, 2014; XAKRIABÁ, 2018; KARIPUNA, 2021), which is a central element of their way of life. These women bodies’ images within their struggles, rights, and achievements are conceived as an instrument of knowledge, memory, and perception, which are embodied in the Territory, distancing us from the imposed matrix and the coloniality gaze.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Paisagens urbanas: fotografia e modernidade na cidade de Belém (1846-1908)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-10-27) PEREIRA, Rosa Claudia Cerqueira; SARGES, Maria de Nazaré dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2076421409418420Paisagens Urbanas: fotografia e modernidade na cidade de Belém (1846-1908) considers a quarrel on the photographic documents that served of instruments of propaganda of the governing in the last decade of century XIX and in the beginning of century XX. The photographic image, as well as other visual sources and objects, consists in important instruments of historical inquiry to identify to new objects and new problems. The contribution of this study if anchors in the use of the photograph as main document of analysis for historiography production, understanding that the photograph represents a certification that "speaks" of the past in the intensity that the historian questions it. This study it search to analyze the relation between photograph and city from the visual narrative of the albums and reports of Belém that had been produced in the period of 1898 the 1908. The interpretation of the albums, while narrative that visualizes a city modern, I consisted in one of the methodological strategies for boarding of the use of the photograph as document for the historian, considering that in this type of documentation it can show given dispersed or exactly silenced for other sources of research.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Percepção visual da cidade: iconografias da natureza urbana de Belém (1808 – 1908)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-01-07) PEREIRA, Rosa Claudia Cerqueira; KOSSOY, Boris; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0725242773358250; SARGES, Maria de Nazaré dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2076421409418420This study proposes an analysis of urban iconography of Belém, produced during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The initial commitment of the thesis concentrated on researching the various types of iconography of Belém during the nineteenth century. The questions that sought to highlight deal on how travelers seized the city in his visit to Belém, both from a narrative point of view as the visual until the year 1890. From then also identify how governments have promoted the city beyond the Amazon region. Brazilian nature It is observed that came to be represented, from the nineteenth century, through written and iconographic, that thanks to the influence of scientism and romantic artistic sensibility that permeated the knowledge of the country. The romantic sensibility made the relationship between science and esthetic to apprehend and represent nature in an overall view, inaugurating a new conception of landscape and trying to "invent" and view an urbane nature, which is the main theme of this study; is the phenomenon of urbanization, which was registere, especially by means of photography. In this type of photos, nature appears domesticated, adapted to urban design, its artful and geometric shape is valued. Urban photography from the late nineteenth century reintroduces the "ideal beauty" in the nature of the images ordered on the model of French gardens, English and Italian From assumption that contemplation of nature is adapted to the reality of the Amazon region, although they were present models from Europe. The perception of nature in the Amazon the second half of the nineteenth century, the influence of new ways of conceiving the nature were designed to cities in the redesign of spaces to form the green area, especially in Belém..
