Actual tendency of behavior determination comprehension points out to an interacionist perspective, analyzing genetic, biological and environmental influences combined over behavior. Many empirical researches have been developed to identify which factors are responsible for a specific behavior. Considering impossible to make a complete study of human behavior determinants, it was chosen to focus into a specific padron the homosexual behavior. Since Antiquity until nowadays, homosexual behavior determinants have been debated. Besides, this subject concerns to a large amount of people and reflects in important social issues. The present study had the purpose of analyzing which are the empiric evidences about homosexual behavior determination, through three stages: (1) historic evolution of the behavior determination, with emphasis on the methodologies applied; (2) presentation and discussion of the main research strategies about homosexual behavior determination, with emphasis on the critical analysis of data; (3) discussion of research implications and possible empirical follow-up. A bibliographic search was conducted, identifying six main research strings: hormonal measures, hormonal effects, genetic, cerebral functioning, animal models and environmental effects. Each research methodology and results were critically analyzed. Then, politics influence over research and the ethical consequences of data release were discussed; as existing data were organized into a proposal to understand the phenomena. It is expected to have contributed to a general description of the actual stage of homosexual behavior determinants as to a critical perspective over methodologies applied.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre o laico e o religioso: as injunções do discurso sobre gênero e sexualidade em um dispositivo curricular de normalização para aspectos da vida cidadã(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-11-23) BRÍCIO, Vilma Nonato de; SILVA, Josenilda Maria Maués da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9246008698629513Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Lei Maria da Penha: avaliação dos seis anos de implantação em Belém/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-09-13) SANTOS, Teresa Cristina Melo dos; NASCIMENTO, Maria Antônia Cardoso; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2918467728101022This work is in the dissertation Master's Degree in Social Work from libraries that have the theme "Maria da Penha Law: Evaluation of 06 years Deployment in Belém/PA", analysis consists in the discussion and evaluation of the applicability of Law No. 11.340/06 (Maria da Penha), in combating domestic violence in the city of Belém/PA, and also aims to deepen the knowledge on the subject of women and relationships genre. The proposed study was processed from the literature with the use of materials already published as articles, books and materials available on the internet and exploratory research, aiming at the problem to better understand it and make it explicit. The instruments for data collection were applied together with the subjects involved in social issues, in order to overcome the appearance of the phenomenon and grasp the dynamics of its structure so universal, particular and singular. It is important to point out that the six years of applicability of the “Maria da Penha” Law in Bethlehem has not yet produced satisfactory results effectively, due to the lack of public facilities for the care of such violence, because only one (01 ) Women Police Station and three (03) sticks of domestic violence against women in the state capital and the lack of resources, financial, material and personal setting a framework still lacking for the full implementation of the law this way, although the Act has provided the possibility of protection and justice, this situation has not yet materialized in fact in Belém do Pará, however, one can not ignore the importance of this legal instrument and the profound changes proposed by it, with the goal of universal access to justice for contingent population historically excluded from rights and especially the merit of recognizing domestic violence against women in its different modalities, such as public and social problem, subject to interference from the state forces. Therefore, there is a national law can reduce violence against women, if applied consistently and effectively, with the strengthening and expansion of the network to protect women victims of violence, it is a problem is complex and involves legal action, administrative legislative, economic , social and cultural rights, without which it is impossible to give comprehensive treatment of this serious problem. The Act is still in the experimental stage and certainly should undergo several adjustments, but we need to keep the text in its entirety long enough to measure their impact, avoiding hasty changes that could minimize, distort or even nullify the legal provision.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Os mecanismos de produção das identidades de gênero na educação infantil: práticas, discursos e eventos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-12-20) DÁCIO, Ígora Irma Santos; RIBEIRO, Joyce Otânia SeixasThe object of this paper is the set of mechanisms that act in the production of gender identities, elected by the need to understand which the practices, speeches and events are used in the process of boys and girls‘ identities constitution in the early years of school. The theoretical contribution dialogues with authors of Gender Studies, among them: Scott (1995), Louro (1997, 2000, 2001) and Felipe (1995, 2007); authors that discuss Identity and Representation, such as: Silva (2000a), Hall (1997, 1999, 2016) and Woodward (2000); and authors who discuss the Childhood and the Child Education: Ariès (2014), Oliveira (2010) and Bujes (2001, 2010). In dialogue with the theoretical framework I used as a method the postmodern ethnography, which standard is the participant observation, the conversations, the writing and the translation of the information produced. The purposes were rewritten in order to include the new information produced giving other directions to the research; they are: Identify the gender meanings of the town and know how they are disseminated at the Maria Santos School; to notice how the absence of recess affects the constitution of children's identities, emphasizing their resistences; to explain the process of normalization the boys and girls‘ conducts through the practices and discourses, as well as the children‘s negotiations; to identify the effects of school events in the process of gender identities in the Child Education, emphasizing children's acceptances. As a result, I point out that gender identities are constituted by different school practices, as by events and / or school speeches. However, children are not passive in this process, in which they actively take part either in negotiating or resisting the impositions that aim to constitute them as boys and girls, future "real" men and women.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Papagaio, pira, peteca e coisas do gênero(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-06-26) SILVA, Lúcia Isabel da Conceição; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1225408485576678This study investigated the meaning of play‟s groups at street like a peer culture context, noticing them not only as forms of expression and reproduction of this culture but, principally as reconstruction and co-construction context of: sex roles, gender identity and sex role ideology. A descriptive exploratory qualitative approach was developed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. We interviewed 57 women victims of aggravated assault domestic violence and analyzed the results thematically. The search for help occurs in its own social environment, together with family and friends. The use of health services depends on the perception of the severity of the condition and does not always result in adequate responses to these women's demands. In justice, the reality of helplessness and disbelief points to dislocation and failure of available social support institutions for victims. For integral and humanized care, the actions should go beyond the protocols of action, thinking of prevention and reduced violence strategies.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Relações de gênero em Bacuriteua (PA): imaginário do homoerotismo masculino entre coletores de caranguejo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-07-04) SOUZA, Camilla da Silva; SILVEIRA, Flávio Leonel Abreu da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1972975269922101This work highlights the gender relations in regard to masculine homoerotism in the community Bacuriteua in the interior of Bragança, Amazonia. In this complex universe, seek to understand the conditions of production of the discourse of negation of emotional-sexual practices between persons of the same sex, as well as practices that problematize this discourse. From the participant observation conducted with residents, method of ethnographic research, it was possible to apprehend the singular aspects of the group that guide interpretations on the mythic imaginary, the work in collecting crabs and forms of sociability. Thus, the research approach develops the notions of imaginary of Gilbert Durand (2010) and sociality of Michel Maffesoli (2001), highlighting especially the constructions of gender identities of Judith Butler (1990) and their mobility. The data indicate the existence of social tensions regarding homoerotic practices on the part of community members, as well as the non-fixity od a “gay identity” and the importance of narratives linked to mythical being Ataíde, wich operate in an ambiguous way, as the same time that masking bring up such relations.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Vivências de mulheres cuidadoras de pessoas idosas dependentes: orientação de gênero para o cuidado(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-01) MEIRA, Edmeia Campos; REIS, Luciana Araújo dos; GONÇALVES, Lucia Hisako Takase; RODRIGUES, Vanda Palmarella; PHILIPP, Rita Maria RadlObjective: To understand, in the memories of caregiving women, the meaning of the experiences of caregiving relationships in family units with dependent elderly people in the context of social construction of care - oriented gender identity.
