The açaí berry, a fruit originating from the Euterpe oleracea palm tree, is a staple in the diet of the Amazon region's populations. With its intense color and distinct flavor, this fruit not only nourishes but also carries with it a rich cultural tradition. Its harvesting and processing involve techniques passed down through generations, making açaí a symbol of identity and belonging for the local communities. Thus, this study focuses on the central role that açaí plays in shaping the social, economic, and cultural identity in the Amazon, using the municipality of IgarapéMiri and the community of Santo Antônio as specific case studies. The relevance of açaí in the local economy, as well as its connections with cultural and social practices, are explored to understand its contributions to Amazonian identity. The research combines qualitative and quantitative approaches, including the analysis of existing studies, landscape analysis, questionnaires, typologies, interviews, and participatory observation. In Igarapé-Miri, observations and visits were made to the complex of fairs and the municipal public market Miguel Tourão Pantoja to understand the commercialization and local population's relationship with the açaí fruit. In the community of Santo Antônio, various data collection and analysis activities were carried out, notably the application of questionnaires to local families, observation, and the categorization of production systems into three distinct types, based on the main sources of income and productive arrangements associated with açaí. Thus, in IgarapéMiri, açaí is not just a product for trade; it is a pillar of local identity, a link that connects generations and perpetuates traditions. In the community of Santo Antônio, it is observed that açaí is intrinsic to daily life and community practices, being the main vector for income source, social cohesion, and the transmission of ancestral knowledge.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-05-28) FERREIRA, Jaqueline Almeida; PONT VIDAL, Josep
There is a trajectory of collective action in the Brazilian Amazon that has the quest for understanding and recognition of his speech to claim their livelihoods and rationality. This collective action, represented by the Xingu Alive Forever Movement (MXVPS, in portuguese), a coalition of organizations that embody the Belo Monte hydroelectric your ultimate symbol of opposition, seeks understanding and recognition of your speech through the appropriation of communication tools, particularly internet and its technological apparatus, and media culture (KELLNER, 200l), with all its icons of power and formatting of cultures and identities in contemporary times. The appropriation process undertaken by MXVPS does not happen fortuitously, but has a methodology, an action to recognize the "adversaries", appropriate them and make them, strategically, through the mediation of culture and identity, turn into something else, in other ways, now useful to counter-hegemonic struggle for recognition. The MXVPS engenders its action by: 1) the history of the groups that make up the collective, a history of human rights violations and silencing; 2) the representations and meanings of their identities, especially in the national and international stage, and 3) the perception of the political groups around for the results of action. This research findings point to the existence of a paradigmatic trajectory of communication in the Amazon in response to a major development project, with specific methodologies guided by discursive acts and identity. They are strategies that are intended, by means of Theory of Communicative Action (HABERMAS, 1987), aimed at mutual understanding, make valid claims and speeches, leading to recognition and, potentially, to meet their demands . This initiative was undertaken by means of communicative acts, still has the potential structuring of public space, the prospect of a fight (protagonist) to insert them (not as historically marginal group, but as a emancipated actor of their desires and intentions) in the contentious area of policy-making, focusing on social and political changes (and, potentially, normative) that affecting their territories, identities and modes of symbolic and material reproduction.

Diásporas de encantados na Amazônia Bragantina
(2015-06) SILVA, Jerônimo da Silva e; PACHECO, Agenor Sarraf
Starting from ethnographic exercises, the text presents diasporic experiences of women mourners that when migrating from northeastern Brazil to “Amazon Bragantina”, in Pará State, from the 1950s, whose lives were marked by the initiation process with the entities of the Brazilian enchant (Prandi, 2004). On overnight trips to cemeteries, transfiguration, physical transport, clairvoyance and wanderings in animal bodies, winds and waters, these mourners revisited “worlds” and ancient “times”, going to talk with shamans and “powerful” chanters of Maranhão, Paraíba, Piauí and Ceará, letting people see and delighted in other senses of displacement. The belief in the ability of entities to monitor persons holding the “gift of praying” to the Pará, as well as continually transitioning these sites, nomadizando up (Deleuze; Guattari, 1995) between “there” and “here”, constitute the phenomenon of “diaspora of the enchanted” (Brah, 2011; Hall, 1999, 2009). Living with these women teaches, among other things, to defend conceptions of meetings and displacements of cultures that perceive the radical otherness of the cosmology of the human sciences, even when one believes this faithfully situated in places of departure, passage and arrival of movements, forgetting often it is not the place, but the material and symbolic transits.

Analyze how the city of Belém, as a subjective territory, crosses directly or indirectly the identity processes of Drags Demônias, the cultural group studied here, was the main objective of the research entitled EKOAOVERÁ: A Study on Territoriality in the Identity Processes of Drags Demônias. For that, a bibliographic study was made about the montação with a great emphasis on the theorists Roger Baker and Carlos Figari, followed by a conceptual survey and a review of terms that speak with the montação, including the studies of Judith Butler, Berenice Bento, Anna Paula Vencato among others. To deepen the research, the montação was studied as a method of body alteration based on the study of Renata Kamla on Contemporary Masking. The methodological action was based on interviews with twenty - three artists from the cultural segment, through a structured interview proposal by Maria Cecília Minayo. To finalize the methodological procedure, the data were crossed by the ethnomethodology approach, resulting in crossings of three instances of analysis: personalities, concepts and territorialities. The final analysis confirms the hypothesis that territoriality is directly related to these identity constructions.

This work aims to describe socio-environmental realities of traditional communities in the Marajó archipelago in the State of Pará, through ways of life as a form of Afro-Marmara resistance. It is developed from the description of my social reality, of origin of communities of cowboys in the region of the Marajoara fields, in a relationship with the aspects of resistance and ethnic affirmation of the quilombola community of Gurupá located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Arari. The description of my social trajectory is carried out through autoetnobiography, which makes it essential to show the way of life of black people with the protagonist of their own history, the analysis of ways of life in the quilombola territory of Gurupá is carried out through the ethnography of walking, method developed through observation, dialogues and walks together with interlocutors from the community. Therefore, through the ethnography of walking and autoetnobiography I try to relate my experiences with the resistance of the quilombola community of Gurupá as a way of resisting the Eurocentric paradigms that on the developmental discourse advance over territories of traditional communities in the Marajó archipelago. In this sense, the reflections presented in the study sought to answer the following question: how ways of life constitute forms of resistance based on the relationship between identity and landscapes? The study has ethnoracial issues as a reference and that is why I use concepts such as afromarajoara and quilombismo. Finally, the investigation concludes by showing that traditional communities have been using pluriactivities in their environments as a form of resistance both to face their seasonal dynamics, as well as to the external interferences of developme.

This dissertation analyses the identities of social workers at Vale S.A in the Carajas region, as ideological manifestations in context of a capitalist productive restructuring. The analysis‟ central categories were work, as in Marx‟s conception and ideology, as in Gramsci‟s conception. The logic of the capitalism, that leads to the alienation and manipulation of the worker‟s subjectivity, induces professionals to absorb uncritically of the common sense, the representation of the hegemony, which manifest implicity in the language and behaviors of professional. The research‟s subjects were social workers at Vale, working in units located in the Carajas region, southeastern Para, since it is a transnacional firm with strong influence in the Amazon region. Currently, municipalities in the Carajas region have their social, economic and political development linked to the firm‟s activities. The research‟s hypothesis was that the Vale‟s social worker‟s identities, in a productive restructuring context, are topsy-turvy identities that contribute to mystifying and reductionist practices, that reproduce capitalistic interests. The empirical research used a time-frame from 2007 to the present days. The results showed that in their professional exercise, Vale‟s social workers experience the inevitable contradictions, both of Vale‟s implementations in the region and those related with the development of Social Work, which contributes more to strengthen a capitalistic hegemony than to strengthen the ethical-political-professional project of the Social Work. The analysis of the correlation of forces present in this professional workspace, constitutes, not only, a objective of discussion and reflection on the challenges involved but also of the objective possibilities that can be identified imbedded in the discourses of the social workers.

This paper analyses the discourse construction of social identities in three interactions with ?juvenile offenders? in a semi-liberty juvenile detention unit. The goal of this investigation is to correlate language and identities. For this purpose, the paper first studies the ideas about the individual and his/her identification with different social centers in a modern and plural society. It also stresses the influence of institutions on the identity formation, especially the influence of institutions that deal with ?juvenile offenders? and the influence of the Children?s and adolescents? Statute. This way, the stigma, socially built, is related to the contingencies which the minors face in the verbal interactions. Hence, theory approaches that consider language in its social context such as the Interactional Sociolinguistics and the Utterance approaches are used, as well as other knowledge areas like the Cultural Studies and Social Psychology. This is an interpretative and ethnographic research that analyses the social identity construction through different footings and frames in discourse and explores the adolescents? speech in its relation with the speeches present in the unity where they are and in society. Therefore, employees and people who visit the mentioned place were interviewed, as well as observation notes about the participants? social situation were taken. The dissertation observes the most relevant emergent identities in the minors? speech such as the stigmatized identity, the religious one, the family ones and the ?identity of transformation?, always built in the necessary relation with the ?other?. The analysis reveals the conflict between the delinquent identity and the identities socially considered as ?normal?. This fact shows the complexity of social identities and makes new questions about the subject come up for future researches.

The objective of the present study is to think over shoemaker craft in Belém, Pará. The research starts from the assessment of cobbler’s narratives, accurately workers from Batista Campos’s district and Campina’s District, located at central portion of the city. By the review of shoemaker’s memories about their social trajectories, I intend to comprehend how this occupation altered itself, how these people realize changes in urban life and space modifications over the years elapsed, therefore, frame and reconfiguration of urban world’s landscapes. The propositions listed here point to the fact that shoemaker knowledge and know-how, and a “saber viver” that reflects everyday experience of these individuals make workshops constitute spaces of sociability. In these places, besides manufacture and repair of shoes, other social forms are produced – full of sensitive and symbolic contents resulting from interactions and relationships engendered there and by the mediation of craft inherent technical gesture.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-08-09) ÁLVARO, Maria Ângela Gemaque; CAMPELO, Marilu Marcia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8338592541775616
This work discusses the importance of family tradition on constructing social representations that are incorporated into a classification system used in a given context. Memory of two family groups considered to be traditional in the city of Belém are analyzed, these groups being so considered in virtue of an exceptional historic trajectory. The central conducting element in such a discussion is social memory, with emphasis on the way it is considered in the studies by Maurice Halbwachs. Upon the exam of oral and written narratives, the study goes on incorporating the themes of tradition, family and history, and developing two main points: 1) How the adjective traditional is constructed and attributed to some families? This question is approached by using the concept of “invented tradition”, and by relating the mnemonic construction of such groups to processes of consecration of family names, and to status authentication. 2) How the involving society has been convinced to accept that image? Emphasis is given on the ideological aspects of kinship and history.

This dissertation has as a purpose to do a study of the contradictions of a pentecostal identity in progress, searching on its origin an identity that was own its on, through an interpretative analyse of its literature and a new language which has changed in the last twenty years. During eight decades the Assembley of God had been holding out tight its identity, that took part of the people’s daily and of a brazilian religious culture that got used to see them as outsiders, separated. The incoming of the Neopentecostal churches brought about changes on the assembleyan’s ethos. Currently, it is possible to realize a mixture of practices and beliefs that here we will notice through the cathegories, identity and and syncretism. It is even more and more present a triumphalist language linked a Positive Confession.

This study addresses the relationship between gender and sexual orientation from the interacionist perspective of Evolutionary Psychology and the analysis of various aspects of human sexuality. This article aimed to discuss existing literature about gender and sexual orientation, based on four questions of Ethology. It's proposed that sexual orientation has multiple origins, and that one of those is related to typical patterns of gender and gender identity. This would lead to identification with same-sex or opposite-sex individuals, and hence, to the attraction for the group different from the one to which identification was established. This approach integrates biological pre-dispositions to the analysis of cultural influences, understanding, as complementary, theoretical views that are usually stated as contradictory.

It is inside of this closet that this research aims to investigate my theatrical stagings, wich i consider my immanence and composition soil. They are as follows: Ao Vosso Ventre (2012), Amem! (2013) and Santa Pocilga de Misericórdia (2014). From the realization of what I call Trilogy of the Closet, having as methodological north the four variations of the attention of the cartographer, I intend to imply an approximation of the theoretical reflection on Self-Care of the discussion about the craft of theater director in the city of Bethlehem to then investigate how my theatrical stagings, already mentioned can be defended as a practice of freedom, a lifestyle, which implies an ethical and aesthetic existence. I follow accompanied by the Nietzsche and Foucault's philosophical thoughts to answer a starter question: Is it possible to think the theatrical staging processes of a gay artist as a practice of freedom committed to a process of stylization of life? I think there is a line that runs through these three staging processes where I can find many similarities and differences that point to a stylization of life. My theatrical stagings transform my process of getting out of the closet in an invitation to problematize the very act of hiding in the closet in first place.
