Análise do ciclo de vida da cadeia da banana na região do Lago de Tucuruí
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-07-20) PINHEIRO, Joana Cláudia Zandonadi; MESQUITA, Andre Luiz Amarante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1331279630816662; GOMES, Luiz Moreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7074266533007983
This work deals with the analysis of the banana life cycle in the Lake of Tucuruí region, in the State of Pará. The environmental impacts of this product and its production chain are quantified. It is also evaluated the potential of beneficiation, aiming the incentive of its production in the region. Regional banana producers were visited on their properties, where they mapped the life-cycle flows of this product, from planting to sale. The methodology applied in the research involves the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) tool, which allows the visualization of the environmental and economic contributions of each productive process. This approach makes it possible to focus analysis on reducing environmental impacts and on better processing practices and costs of product processing. The obtained results show that the properties studied have similar emission indices of environmental impacts as others studied in the world and that the stages of the planting until the formation of the fruit have elevated indices of emissions, so that the application of best practices to the processes, so that there is potential reduction of the environmental impacts generated. The LCA methodology used was extremely important to identify the factors that impact the problems of agricultural production. Thus, we can propose improvements in the use of natural resources for the properties studied, seeking conservation and sustainability for future generations.

This research has been focused to evaluate the economic and social impacts from the technology’s adoption named “Trio da Produtividade” (generated Embrapa Amazônia Oriental) for the cassava crops in the city of Moju/PA. The “Trio da produtividade” is the combination of three components in the system for cassava’s production: (i) selection of manioc stem; (ii) spacing of 1 m x 1 m and (iii) weeding in the first 150 days. This analysis was carried out from the primary data collection, by means of technical panels, producers ́ interviews, advisory officers and municipal and state secretaries ́ of agriculture and the environment, and bibliographical survey. It was found that the “Trio da Produtividade” has brought economic and social impacts positive. The economic impacts was found that: (i) in terms of the root, the “Trio da Produtividade” brought an increase of 7 tons/hectare; (ii) the use of technology provides a net income per hectare of R$ 2,260.00 (61.31 % greater); (iii) about the economic feasibility, the “Trio” proved to be superior in indicators VPL, TIR, rate of return, and suffix of profitability, the production system traditionally used by farmers in the city of Moju. Regarding the social impacts, it was found that the technology showed additional benefits in relation to the traditional system, with positive values of 1.80 . In addition, the effect of the increase of production, that is reflected in higher income generation, food security and employment opportunity to relatives and local workers. The workers ́ participation in trainings on the technology’s application brings a breakthrough in the qualification of the workforce, which allows additional remuneration for the differentiation of them. It was also observed, expectation of improvement management of activity by the producers, because the training for participating and greater dedication to activity.

In the dissertation was demonstrated the direct influence of water quality on the river Xingu indigenous local, especially indigenous tribes around the large macaw and Paquiçamba, besides the environmental dynamics established around the construction of the Belo Monte Dam. The main objective was to demonstrate the logics that organize the relations of developing national energy and environmental damages that result can directly affect indigenous peoples especially regarding water quality, in particular the Arara indigenous tribes of the Volta Grande do Xingu and Paquiçamba, that depend directly on natural resources of the Xingu River for their survival and that will be directly affected by the construction of Belo Monte hydroelectric plant, as scientific data analysis of the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry and Environmental (LAQUANAM) Federal University of Pará The instrument environmental policy is ineffective to curb this environmental damage that compromises the lives of indigenous peoples in the Amazon, due to the fragility of measures to mitigate this inexorable worsening environmental questioned by federal prosecutors, through numerous civil suits, ineffective for society and aggravating to the environment. Thus reinforcing the arguments of the relation of fragility of existing laws in the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, before the overwhelming environmental impact that outweighs the interests of sustainable development capable of not only preserving, but ensure ecologically balanced environment for future generations. At work was analyzed elements and contents present in eco-development discourses that confront the interests of local environmental policies, while prevailing view of national policies for the Amazon, through literature review, document research and field research. In the dissertation demonstrated that whoever mobilizes a large political capital in favor of eco-development project has more power over local actors and institutions closer to the issues identified as strategic policies for environmentally sustainable development. In this context, according to the reflections graphic and physicochemical parameters produced in this work, there is clear evidence of violation of the Environmental impact assessment (EIA/RIMA) as basic condition for the construction of large dams, noting that the development process there is a weakening environmental concerns of local people rather than a national project that will not meet evenly and fair society, but rather aggravate their environmental problems that jeopardize the lives of those who carry the essence of life Amazonian, who are the indigenous peoples, each increasingly segregated in the process of capitalist development in Brazil.
