Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise da qualidade da água do rio Guamá e suas interfaces climáticas e socioambientais em São Miguel do Guamá, nordeste paraense.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-02-25) MARINHO, Eduardo Ribeiro; VITORINO, Maria Isabel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2313369423727020This work aims to understand the relation of water quality in a section of theGuamáriver, with the climatic, anthropic and social aspects in the municipality of. Thus, six collections were made at three distinct points located on the border between the municipalities of São Miguel do Guamá and Irituia; Point A (River bottom), Point B (River center) and Point C (River bottom), for two months in 2015 (Feb / Jul), in 2016 (Jan / Jun) and 2017 (Feb / Jul). These points represent the existence of human activities on the banks of the river; the red ceramic industry; domestic sewage and logging. For this, the physical chemical indicators of water quality were analyzed; pH, dissolved oxygen (mg / L), electrical conductivity (μS / cm -1), total dissolved solids (mg / L), water temperature (ºC) and turbidity (NTU). In addition to the monthly and daily atmospheric data of the Southern Oscillation Index and the CMORPH precipitation, respectively. For the calculation of the flow of the Guamá river (m³ / s) the method of regionalization of minimum flows in basins through interpolation in geographic information system. The socio-environmental indicators of HDI-M, coverage by water supply system (%), coverage by sewage system (%), diarrhea morbidity and gastroenteritis (number of hospitalizations) and surface water availability were used for the social analysis. m³ / s) in the period from 1991 to 2010. For analysis of the data, we applied the multivariate statistical analysis - Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and the linear regression method, by obtaining Pearson 's linear correlation coefficient (r). The main results are: strong positive and negative correlations between precipitation, flow and water quality indicators during the extreme climatic El Niño 2015-2016. In the study of the social aspect, there were strong correlations between the data of HDI-M with the water supply system (%), sewage network (%), surface water availability (m³ / s). In general, the research sought to make an analysis of the water quality of the Guamáriver based on the interdisciplinary aspect, showing the pioneering study for the region.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Certificações socioambientais: desenvolvimento sustentável e competitividade da indústria mineira na Amazônia(2005) ENRIQUEZ, Maria Amélia Rodrigues da Silva; DRUMMOND, José Augusto LeitãoThe text deals with the relations between economic growth of a sector responsible for consuming non-renewable natural resources and the process of sustainable development in the Eastern part of the Brazilian state of Pará. The mining of metallic ores in Pará has been growing strongly; local mines are global leaders in their respective fields and must operate in tune with established global social-environmental norms. Therefore, almost all of these mining companies are certified, both socially and environmentally. This behavior presupposes that these companies adhere to the principles of sustainability. Thus, the object of this research effort is to inquire about the effectiveness of these certifications for the process of sustainable development of the territorial sections in which those companies operate. The major findings are (1) that the positive consequences of certifications are still much more visible in the realm of the productive performance of the companies than in terms of socio-economic development of the nearby areas and (2) that socio-environmental certification processes place much more emphasis on ecological variables than on social ones.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo do impacto socioeconômico da piscicultura em tanques-rede no reservatório da UHE Tucuruí-PA: o caso do Projeto Ipirá(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-08-26) ARAÚJO, Eduardo André Duarte de; LOPES, Luís Otávio do Canto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1013147545099173; MORAES, Sérgio Cardoso de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4568311568729454The present dissertation evaluates the development of pisciculture in net tanks in the reservoir of the hydroelectric plant of Tucuruı, State of Pará, from a case study: the project of pisciculture Ipirá, created from an agreement between the Central Electric of Northern Brazil - Eletronorte and a set of families who have had their livelihoods impacted by the construction of hydroelectric of Tucuruı as an alternative for the generation of employment and income. Evaluates, more specifically, the impact of the project on improving the living conditions of the families served by the same under the socioeconomic perspective. To achieve the objectives of this study, we used beyond the case study, the systemic model for aquaculture, especially the calculation of indices for assessing the socioeconomic sustainability of aquaculture - IDES, as the methodological procedures. It was observed that the pisciculture project Ipirá shown to be potentially sustainable from a socioeconomic perspective (0.649). The indicators of health aspects (0,123), leisure (0,113) and health (0.110), showed in descending order, the main contributions in the composition of IDES, while the indicators income (0,040) and housing (0.79), essential for family maintenance and welfare conditions of the human being, showed the worst results. In conclusion, the results generated from the pisciculture project Ipirá, whose main objective is the generation of employment and income, failed in its totality achieve its main objective and proves to be not significantly influence the improvement of living conditions of families served, which is reinforced by the data collected in the field, where 86% of those interviewed survives with equal and less than one monthly minimum wage, supplemented by the help of the "bolsa família" and closures secure. Finally, we emphasize the relevance of Ipirá project as a case of socio-environmental policy with the potential to boost the local and a more optimistic outlook economy to become a model to be replicated and cover all the surrounding municipalities of Plant Reservoir Tucuruí, since failures in implementation and its management are resolved and payable are taken providential, as indicated by this study.
