In addition to an exposition of studies on chronic sports written by writers like Coelho Neto and Lima Barreto, and discussions dealing with the concept of Modern and Modernism, finally selected some of the chronicles of two authors about soccer and politics, in which to exemplify the proposed categorization.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A construção do discurso jornalístico sobre a sustentabilidade das cidades: o caso do Jornal Diário do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) CURCINO, Wanderson dos Anjos; FIGUEIREDO, Silvio José de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2578700144404800This paper presents a case study that discusses the construction of the discourse of sustainability of cities by the Diário do Pará newspaper. It is understood that such discussion is relevant because it is the journalism of the social institutions of social construction of reality, and therefore, be strategic legitimation of certain social discourses, as shown this. Aims to answer more objectively, the following question: how is constructed the discourse of sustainability of cities in Pará Daily newspaper? To get these answers, we are guided by two more questions: What is the dominant discourse of the journal sustainable city? How this speech presents? And what is the role of agents in the construction of these speeches? materials will be analyzed correspond to the period from July 2012 to July 2015.A theory of social field was the starting point for analysis. Among the results we can highlight that the predominant discourse emphasizes economic rationality and city material and distance from a social, environmental or environmental justice and develops from the premises as the economic rationality of the city's resources; technological emphasis as a solution to urban environmental problems and environmental awareness in order to promote the rationalization of resources. As to sources, there are at least four categories of them: official sources (Secretary of State, Municipal, State Government, Municiapal City Hall and Federal Government), popular sources (loose respondents), institutional sources (Class Entities, Associations, Cooperatives, ONGs ) and expert sources (Universities of researchers and research institutes), and institutional sources (representatives of professional associations, unions and associations). Among these, the sources that most interfere in sustainability discourse are the specialist sources, especially in the function of giving legitimacy to the very arguments of the journalistic field.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Debate público, desigualdades e relações de poder: análise da PEC das domésticas a partir dos jornais O Liberal e Diário do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-09-18) REZENDE, Thaís Cavalcante; LAGE, Danila Gentil Rodriguez Cal; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4593992869253877The present research analyzes the contents of the two main newspapers printed in Pará - Diário do Pará and O Liberal - in what concerns to the Proposal for Constitutional Amendment 66/2012, the "PEC das Domésticas", which expanded workers' rights as of 2013, with its promulgation. The investigation sought to apprehend the approach of the local journalistic media on the subject, as well as the public debate generated in the media and finally, the power relations and recognition of the profession, formed mostly by black poor women. The debate on the "PEC das Domésticas" is controversial because it assigns rights to a socially marginalized group, in addition to being a topic that has not been studied much in Pará. Based on an analysis of the contents of newspapers that were collected in the digital version of the editions from 2013 to 2015 (which goes from the approval of the PEC to the regulation of Complementary Law 150) we seek to understand what are the speeches on the theme through the following categories of analysis: 1) The positioning of bosses and domestic workers, in which we analyze the place of speech of female workers, employers, gender inequalities and the power relations exposed in the media coverage, and 2) The rights within "PEC das Domésticas", which exposes social inequalities and the conquest of rights as a milestone to achieve emancipation and recognition of these women. The research showed that the voice of domestic workers, as well as some inherent rights to women, were hidden from the agenda of media discussions, which, in general, emphasized the interests of employers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento e socioambientalismo: uma análise do discurso jornalístico de O Liberal e Diário do Pará sobre a Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-07-24) SILVA, Josiele Sousa da; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638The debate on Belo Monte Hydroelectric construction feasibility, in Xingu region of Pará state, came back to the pages of two major newspapers in Pará, O Liberal and Diário do Pará, after 30 years of project creation by the federal government of Brazil. In the period from May, 5th 2009 to set, 30th 2010, the publications reconstructed the established combat atmosphere among various social agents and institutions about the hydroelectric project, publishing 475 newspaper articles on the subject, considering editorials, interviews, articles, notes, headlines, factual news and reports. To understand the communication process/discursive production and repetition of meanings embodied in the journalistic texts, it opted for the French methodology of discourse analysis, with attention to the relationship between communication and discourse, presented discursive formations in the texts as well as the expression of interdiscursivity. The result of the analysis, exemplified by the presentation of discursive sequences, taken from 32 selected texts of the main body and divided into subthemes, showed that there is a predominance of the development discourse at the expense of social and environmental discourse, with strong links to other speeches already said about Amazon. This is still seen as a place full of riches to be exploited and to serve the interests outside the region. It is also evident the appreciation of officials statements and conservationist NGO representatives, artists and researchers. The Forest Folks remain in a visibility lower level in the reconstruction of the controversy about Belo Monte Hydroelectric.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O discurso midiático sobre mudanças climáticas: análise da cobertura ambiental de o Liberal e Folha de São Paulo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-03-21) SILVA, André Luiz Palmeira da; DUTRA, Manuel José Sena; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2597192749872675; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638The study objective consisted of analyzing the discourse of climate change produced by O Liberal and Folha de S. Paulo newspapers in their coverage of the environment in 2015, when the Paris Climate Conference, also known as COP-21, was held. A comparative analysis among the discourses of the newspapers was performed, embracing the same period and using the same theoretical-methodological reference, which presents as main basis the Semiology of Social Discourse, through concepts such as Polyphony. In order to define our scope, we approached the work of authors such as Eliseo Verón and Mikhail Bakhtin. The research methodology is anchored in the Discourse Analysis of French strand. The concept of Discursive Formation, by Michel Foucault, was also employed. In order to operationalize our methodology, we referred to the online platform of the respective newspapers to consult the editions and analyze the journalistic texts. In total, 38 texts of Folha de S. Paulo and 27 texts of O Liberal newspaper were analyzed.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A enunciação da ação política feminina em Igarapé-Miri: um estudo das relações interdiscursivas no Jornal Miriense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-06-25) ARAÚJO, Israel Fonseca; PESSOA, Fátima Cristina da Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4011084861970140This Dissertation discusses the way adopted by Miriense printed newspaper (JM) to present its subject-reader the woman who has public and political action in Igarapé-Miri City, either with regard to the analysis of a more focused media coverage for the proper political personality, either with regard to the examination of an enunciation that turns to the dissemination of more specific political actions such as the performance of women in social movements and in the Igarapé-Miri City Hall. We investigate the discursive functioning of the journalistic practice materialized in JM. Such a vehicle is produced in the Igarapé-Miri city (PA) for 35 years. More specifically, we focus on a set of disseminated publications between 2004 and 2008. They were divided in four groups of texts, defined as G1, G2, G3 and G4, which present the feminine role in various public / political functions (G1 and G2) and the specific role of mayor of Igarapé-Miri (G3 and G4). In these publications, we try to pay attention to the joints between the journalistic practice and public/ political life in Igarapé- Miri and between discourses about women's social position and the gender dimension that can impact the way to say, journalistically, about female appearance at JM. How these joints generate meanings in the analyzed publications is a question that specifically defines the main horizon defined for this study: to investigate the interdiscursive relationships constituents of JM, materialized in the texts that thematize the female public/political action in Igarapé-Miri. This research is based on postulates of the French Discourse Analysis (AD), specifically along the lines advocated by Dominique Maingueneau (1997, 2008, 2011), taking into account the adoption of the following theoretical and analytical tools: interdiscourse, discursive practice, enunciation scene and discursive deixis. We believe that journalistic enunciation of JM exposes interdiscursive relations called in the texts to refer to the thematized political figure established by a set of enunciative scenes, which are supported by elements of the adopted discursive deixis. In this interface, the overlap between media and speech is of vital importance, which is why the research is founded on postulates of authors like Gregolin (2007), Lage (2005), Melo (1994) and Miguel (2002, 2003a). It was possible to find a set of interdiscursive relations pointing to links between the journalistic discourse of JM with the ongoing religious practice in Igarapé-Miri and between this journalistic practice and political practice that helps form the town public life, as well as between journalistic discursive practice and the gender dimension, which significantly impacts the discursive function and senses run on JM on women with public and political action in Igarapé-Miri city.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) “Esse debate não precisa terminar agora!” A mistura entre jornalismo e infotenimento no programa ‘papo de segunda’ e seus desdobramentos no ciberespaço(Universidade de São Paulo, 2019-12) VIEIRA, Manuela do Corral; SILVA, Erick Matheus NeryThe present research has as general objective to understand how the infotainment language, allied to the journalism, foments the amplification of the debate in the digital universe. But it was since the 1980s the term became to be object of reflection in discourse studies, raising comments on the concept of rhetoric ethos as well as opening space to new meanings related to disciplines interested in these studies (MAINGUENEAU, 2008c). As the guiding principle of this research has to do with analyzing the work of the ethos construction in the discourses produced by the social actors who make up the UFPA community (in its 50 years of existence), in the institutional press work, exactly the Beira Rio Journal, it was necessary to pay more specific attention to the studies concerning the concept of ethos and scene of enunciation. The interest for the social actors’ discourse during UFPA 50th anniversary led to search for answers to the following question: How can the discursive work of the institutional press through the social actors who make up UFPA concerning the celebration of its 50th anniversary reveal the ethos? The choice of UFPA is due not only because it is considered the greatest higher education institution in the state, but also because, throughout these 50 years, it has assumed a great importance in the current Brazilian educational context. This research corpus is constituted by monthly editions of the Beira do Rio Journal, published in 2007. From the observation and the study of this corpus, this dissertation used the theoretical approaches to the best basis concerning the notion of ethos, in the perspective of French Discourse Analysis. For this, it was established the articulation between different concepts and categories developed by Maingueneau. This theoretical basis allowed the analysis of selected texts and the consequent identification of the figure of a homogeneous guarantor, social individuals who play the role of managers, professors, students and administrative officers, who legitimate and strengthen University’s image as the greater agent of transformation in the Amazon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O fantástico caso da médium Anna Prado nas páginas dos jornais paraenses no alvorecer do século XX(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-11) TOSTES, Ana Letícia Lopes; SANTOS, Luiz Cezar Silva dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2449524316115443In this dissertation, we seek to explore the narratives of newspapers from Pará in the years 1918-1920 which had as main character a medium named Anna Rebello Prado. News that were a cause of astonishment for readers and annoyance for the Catholic Church because the medium gained allies and critics by allowing press coverage of her deeds, especially the materialization of spirits, and showing how journalism easily surrendered to the fantastic and unusual, at the dawn of the 20th century in the city of Belém do Pará. The objective of the research is to see the journalistic coverage of fantastic elements, such as the medium and her powers, and its acceptance by journalism as important components of reality the social and history of a community. To understand these aspects, we will also conduct a study on Belém in the 1920s, and who were the main characters of the intriguing medium that aroused the curiosity and attention of daily newspaper readers in Belém.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Guerra aos extremos: polarização política em Pernambuco e a defesa do princípio de soberania nacional (1829-1831)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-06) FELDMAN, ArielThis article aims to analyze the politic polarization in Pernambuco between 1829 and 1831. The focus of this analysis is the journalistic work of Benedictine Monk Miguel do Sacramento Lopes Gama (1793-1852). Despite being very difficult to define the nature of the political projects advocated by each group, which expressed their ideas through the press, it is possible to identify the defense of two different kinds of sovereignty. For the first party, the notion of national sovereignty was the key principle that should organize the political institutions. The second party, which cannot be roughly defined as absolutist, still considered monarchic sovereignty one of the most important organizing principles of society.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Literatura e jornalismo: aspectos religiosos em Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira e Marajó, de Dalcídio Jurandir(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-08-04) SANTOS, Juliana Gomes dos; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592This work aims to analyze religious aspects in the novels Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira e Marajó, by the journalist and novelist from Pará Dalcídio Jurandir (1909/1979). The journalistic texts of the writer will give comparative support to the literary discussion regarding the religious aspects present in the cited novels. In these they stand out the social and cultural issues that that stand out in the narratives, sometimes in confrontation with the religiosity, sometimes in tune with her. In the second section of this work, entitled "Considerations about the religious theme", we present important concepts that will give more foundation and understanding to the questions present in the works and consequently in the analysis of this work. In the third section that has as its title Religiosity in Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira e Marajó: An analysis examines the main religious aspects present in the works, highlighting the issues that this theme generates, mainly, social issues in which the richness of the Church in Opposition to the poverty of the Marajoara population, we also examine the conflicts and interconnections between religions, as well as analyze the sovereignty of the "superior forces" as a cause of fear, devotion and hope for the poor Marajó population. In the face of the discussion provided by Literature, by journalism and also by theoretical texts of the novels and also of the theoretical contribution, we find that the dalcidiana’s novels try to denounce the ills of a people wrapped in a religious universe, but also seek to inform about the Amazonian culture that is based on the different religions presented in novels.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O mundo binoquiano: narrativas, mulheres e modernidades em Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010) NEVES, Maira Wanderley; FIGUEIREDO, Aldrin Moura de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4671233730699231This work leans over on the periodical O Binóculo, that circulated in Belém in the end of century XIX, from 1897. The informative guide was hosted in a free virtual environment that converges multimidia didactic materials and presents Newsgames as a teaching-learning tool. The study that originated the product was due to personal experiences lived in the classroom by this author and, from questions about the teaching of the disciplines of the Journalism course, the inspiration for the research emerged. From such inquietudes, the research on how the pedagogical curricula are used in the courses brought information that indicated that, as time went by, the National Curricular Guidelines, which govern the pedagogical curricula, prioritize an increasingly balanced involvement of theoretical and practical class, that is, students should be offered both theoretical and humanistic supporte, as well as support focused on the professional daily routine. As the research continued, the Newsgames (games based on news and real events) were found, by studying their structure and how they are developed, and an opportunity was seen to present to Journalism course teachers a teaching approach based on this type of game. Thus, the study intended to develop a product that indicates how Journalism teachers can use Newsgames as a strategic tool for teaching journalism, so that the product fits as an initiation artifact to the theme, reinforcing the potential of Newsgames for meaningful teaching. To this and, the study presents characteristics of Newsgames that qualify them as didactic resource that promotes meaningful teaching, make it more attractive to students, as well as the enrichment of teaching activities through gamification, which enables the engagement and protagonism of students in their learning process. Thus, a final product was developed in the format of an informative guide for Journalism teachers, called Start Game.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Perigo, probabilidade e oportunidade: a linguagem dos riscos na mídia(2002) SPINK, Mary Jane Paris; DANTAS, Benedito Medrado; MÉLLO, Ricardo PimentelBased on the assumption that risk is a central concept in contemporary society, the study aims to understand the role of the media in the circulation and consolidation of the language of risks. These groups also act as news organizations that use their narratives to build the world’s perceptions. However the Amazon reality presented is marked by stereotypes and visions on misleading the people of the region. This paper analyzes the agents and conflicts related to hydroelectric projects in the Tapajós basin in the report Public, investigative journalism agency, in order to understand the differences in the traditional press in the production of meaning on the Amazon. The narratives are identified and contextualized conflicts and agents in this power relationship, where the Public subverts the hegemonic logic and inserts the "resistance voices" to hydroelectric projects as the protagonists of the stories.
