The writer Dalcídio Jurandir (1909-1979) had a long and useful literary production, which resulted in ten novels with Amazon setting and Linha do Parque of Communist orientation. However, his contact with the universe literate is not restricted to his fictional creation, the writer held intense activity in the press in general and the Communist press in particular. This last, due to his involvement with the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), which was substantial for the grounds of thought "dalcidiano", both as regards the way to see the reality and its operation, as when targeting their artistic creation. Two important journals for which Dalcídio collaborated in the cities in which he resided were the O Estado do Pará and Diretrizes, both of leftist policy orientations although not organically connected to the PCB. These two journals, it is possible to terms with another face of the novelist, who in addition to writing his novels, he ventured down the path of Chronicles. Thus, aim, with this work, do a study of these chronicles, in two newspapers, spanning the years from 1937 to 1944, in order to publicize these texts from writer marajoara and understand how he behaved in the creation of another literary genre.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-02-05) SILVA, Suellen Cordovil da; HOLANDA, Sílvio Augusto de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0928175455054278
This dissertation aims to study the critical reception of the American translation of Grande sertão: veredas (1956), soon after the publication of this, in 1963, and read the first translational options of Harriet de Onís (1869-1968) and James Taylor (1892-1982), and excerpts from the latest American translation, Grand sertão: veredas (2013), Philip W. Martinez. As a method used to analyze the American critical reception, highlight the studies of literary hermeneutics of Hans Robert Jauss (1921-1997). Thus, priority is given to a discussion with the American translation of Grande sertão: veredas, because the punctuates are some excerpts from the American translation which serve as corpus of translation, with the criteria for the selection of passages relating to the hinterland (Backlands) and to meet of Riobaldo with Diadorim in O-de-janeiro. The parameters will be analyzed in the fisrt translation: the loss of poetic, deletions, switching names and words, and finally, some neologisms. After the comparisons between Grande sertão: veredas and The devil to pay in the backlands, it aims to realize the distancity of projectřs translators with the poetic project of João Guimarães Rosa. Thus, we based on translation studies of Antoine Berman (1942- 1991), Lawrence Venuti (1953) and André Lefevere (1945-1996). Berman believes that translation is a relationship, a dialogue and an openness to the stranger. Besides the parameters to check that stretches from the American translation is ethnocentric, we use some clippings serial ceded by the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros (IEB), in University of São Paulo, a total of 10 texts about Guimarães Rosa. These texts were written in 1963. Finally, in this dissertation the placements of U.S.A. journalists will treat yourself before the publication of Guimarães Rosařs 1963 translation and the current critical reception of American translation according Perrone (2000), Armstrong (2001) and Krause (2013).

The dissemination of research in newspapers of the nineteenth century becomes increasingly necessary as it contributes to a better understanding of the process of production, circulation and formation of the Brazilian Literary History. In this paper, we analyze one of the leading newspapers of the nineteenth century press Para-The Journal of Pará (1862-1878) - which has earmarked several areas for literary publication and remained stable periodic dialogues with other states, such as printed Carioca Journal of Families - Produced and directed by the Company under the Garnier line conservative journal Para. That newspaper family were extracted from translating the works by renowned authors such as Machado de Assis. These placeholders for conversation between the journals show that Para was not part of the conjecture of his time, but also participated actively in the scene who helped form the Brazilian Literature.
