(2014-04) LEMOS, Flávia Cristina Silveira; SCHEINVAR, Estela; NASCIMENTO, Maria Lívia do
This article discusses the risk event, from a historical and political perspective. It presents an overview of the debate on this analytical category, denaturalizing it. In the second part of the text, we seek to weave a description of how the risk event came on the scene in the policy of protection of children and young people as a strategic means of social protection and prevention. Then, it analyzes how risk management is materialized in the practices of the guardianship council members in Brazil, following the approval of the Statute of Children and Adolescents. The guardianship council becomes a central board of management of deviations in behalf of full protection. We conclude that managing risks involves governing behaviors out of the logic of a safety society.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-08-21) MARTINS, Cleyton Abreu; BOTELHO, Eliã Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6276864906384922; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9682-6530
Introduction: Globally, it is estimated that for every seven new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections, two occur among young people. Spatial analysis studies are essential tools in the fight against HIV. Objective: To spatially analyze the Brazilian historical scenario of the HIV epidemic among young men, from 2007 to 2021. Methods: An ecological study that used secondary databases from the Notifiable Diseases Information System. All cases of HIV and immunologically acquired disease syndrome (AIDS) among men between 15 and 29 years of age and with fixed residence in Brazil were considered. The 5,570 Brazilian municipalities were considered as the unit of analysis and the HIV/AIDS incidence rate standardized by age group as a variable. The following spatial analysis techniques were used: 1) Spatial Distribution, 2) Spatial Autocorrelation and 3) Spatial Scan. Results: 108,392 cases of HIV were reported in Brazil among young men during the study period. The Southeast Region had the highest incidence rates, followed by the Northeast, South, North and Midwest regions. The HIV epidemic showed territorial expansion in all Brazilian regions, with the exception of the southern region, which contracted. Although there has been a decrease in the number of hotspots in all regions, in the North and Northeast regions there has been an expansion in the size of hotspots. There was no expansion of coldspots in the regions. The space-time risk zones were comprised between 2015 and 2021 and all were formed by state capitals and surrounding municipalities. Conclusion: The different behaviors of the HIV epidemic in Brazilian regions may be associated with different regional sociopolitical scenarios. The consolidation, expansion and emergence of new hotspots point to locations where the fight against HIV among young people should be strengthened. The space-time risk analysis shows that the highest HIV detection rates occur in municipalities with higher demographic densities, and the long time period suggests fragility in policies to combat the virus. For the elimination of HIV, greater integration of municipalities, states and the federal government is necessary in the search for greater social equity.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-07-11) PEDROSO, Andrey Oeiras; NOGUEIRA, Laura Maria Vidal; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9020674768816530; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0065-4509; BOTELHO, Eliã Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6276864906384922; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9682-6530
Introduction: In Brazil, the HIV/AIDS detection rate (/100,000 inhab.) showed a decrease in the general population of 17.2%, from 2009 (21.5) to 2019 (17.8). However, this rate increased substantially among the young population, which had the highest detection rate in the country, 52.0 (/100,000 inhab.) (BRASIL, 2020a). This advance on the young population is due to obstructions, discrimination, inequalities, stigmas and social and health inequities, intrinsic vulnerabilities of this population stratum that enhance their chances of becoming infected with HIV. However, the risk of HIV infection cannot be conditioned only to the individual, since behaviors are directly influenced by socioeconomic territorial factors that exceed the individual. Despite all the advancement of HIV among young people, there is a scarcity of studies aimed at analyzing the impact of Social Determinants of Health (SDH) on the epidemic in this age group. Objective: To analyze temporally and spatially the HIV epidemic among young people in the State of Pará. Methods: An ecological study that analyzed HIV/AIDS cases diagnosed between 2007 and 2018 in Pará, Brazil. An exploratory analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. The temporal projections (2019-2022) used mixed method, ARIMA + STL in the RStudio software. For the spatial analysis, we used statistical scanning techniques to obtain the Relative Risk (RR), with a confidence interval of 95%; Moran's autocorrelation statistic considering statistically significant (p < 0.05) for building the LISAMap in ArcGIS software. In SPSS software, we developed models from Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and later by Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR), with spatial analysis of residuals, with the help of MGWR and ArcGIS software. Results: Of the 8,143 cases analyzed, 47.97% were young people between 25 and 29 years old, men (66.46%), mixed race (76.95%), living in urban areas (85.20%) and heterosexuals (54 .41%). An expansion of HIV among young people in Pará was identified, with a temporal projection of increase for young people aged 20-24 years. Spatial variability of DSS: 'Basic Education Development Index'; doctors per 10,000 inhabitants and municipal high school abandonment (MHSA) rate were associated with the risk of HIV infection among young people. The relative risk showed spatial variability. Conclusions: The SDH associated with HIV risk among young people in Pará, show social particularities of HIV in the study region and should be considered in the formulation of policies to reach the global goal of eliminating AIDS by 2030 among young people.

The article reflects on the conformation of the world view of a group of young people from a city in the southeast of Pará, Parauapebas, about the experience of living on an Amazonian border. The visions of common sense – on the one hand the promise of wealth and development; on the other hand, the image of crisis and violence – are contrasted by the representations effectively constructed by these young people in their daily lives, forming a generational experience marked by the sensation of transience. The discussion is based on research about the social representations of a group of 38 students of a Communication- Journalism course. For the most part, these students were born outside the Amazon region and experienced the social situation identified by several authors as being marked by the conflicting and transient dynamics that characterize the social processes of occupation of the Amazonian territory – a situation that is often identified as an ontological void. We test this perception by contrasting it with the actual daily experience of young people. To do so, we collect their social representations of where they live, inquiring about how their perceptions of the world and the rural Amazon are mediated by the intersubjective and media tissues that make up the Amazonian "frontier" as a space condemning to the transition and to the eventuality.

In this study we investigate the relations existing amid school failure, perceptions concerning the school and expectations of future among young people, from data of a sample of 610 young people with ages between 14 and 24 years (m=16,56; dp=2,37), of both sexes, students from public schools of Belém city in Pará state. A questionnaire with 77 multiple choice questions was used. The results revealed that almost half of students already presented school failure, although they present good perception concerning the school. Correlations between school disapproval and low expectations of academic future and between good perceptions concerning the school and best academic expectations were observed. The expectation of having access to the university appeared more associated to female sex. The results may contribute to the understanding of the importance of the school in promoting protective factors in the learners development.

This article proposes a reflection about the way that communicative interactions are established among young people living in Murutucu island, Belém PA, belonging to a territory with practices marked by the articulation between the urban and the rural. The island is close to Belém - just 9 km -, and local young people live there in a continuous displacement between rural and urban, a factor that puts them in contact with different realities. This study enabled the data mapping related to the experience of living in the island, as well for the displacement to Belém. Moreover it allowed the characterization of the use of smartphone and the internet by young people of Murutucu. In the field research, questionnaires were used, targeted to 10 young people, in order to identify the young islanders profile.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-02-19) PEREIRA, Ana Trindade; CARVALHO, Jacira Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9434086419077532; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5464-2434
Functional Health Literacy (FHL) is defined as the ability to obtain, process and understand basic information and services in order to make appropriate decisions regarding health and medical care (CHEHUEN NETO et al., 2019). The Amazon region is experiencing an accelerated growth of STIs, with no studies addressing the possible causes for this behavior. Objective: To evaluate health literacy about STIs in the population of young SUS users who live in peripheral areas in the Amazon context. Methodology: This is a descriptive field study, with a qualitative approach. The population consisted of 34 young people, who live in the District of Water of the Montese neighborhood, aged between 15 and 24 years. The Instrument for Health Literacy was applied, translated and adapted by Lisiane Paskulin et al. (2011) for use in the Brazilian context. The initial sociodemographic data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The qualitative analysis of the contents of the answers to open questions was categorized according to its different dimensions, considering the nature and its frequency was distributed in five dimensions: The understanding about Sexually Transmitted Infection; Search for information about STI; Understanding of STI information; Sharing the information received; The repercussions of information for young people. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the ICS - UFPA opinion, n°. 3,567,868. Regarding to the characterization of participants among young people, 82.35% were aged between 15 and 18 years old, there was a preponderance of females, in sexual orientation, 85.29% said they were heterosexual and in marital status, 61, 77% were single. Regarding education, 44.20% reported having completed high school and 64.70% of families had an income between 1-2 minimum wages, being 82.35% of young people not working. About the number of partners, 52.95% of young people answered that they had not yet started sexual life, which pointed to the identification of sexual abstinence among young people as a protective factor against exposure to STIs. Functional health literacy was identified as insufficient, more specifically the difficulties of young people in relating causes and effects, lack of knowledge about signs and symptoms and an unconcern regarding the severity of the epidemiological situation of sexually transmitted diseases. The young people's responses in the different dimensions of the analyzed FHLrevealed apparent conformity and passivity about information about STIs. Final considerations: As a result, insufficient functional health literacy in all dimensions was revealed in the studied population. Therefore, there was a need for improvements with regard to health education and the involvement of various spaces such as the school and the Basic Health Unit, acting with actions to improve the health literacy status of young people.

In the curriculum directives of the formation program based in the alternative pedagogy denominated Agricultural Family School of Marabá, the supposition is expressed and it can contribute to the development of the agriculture family, because it’s lifted methodically in a proposition that would overcome that practiced by linked to the public education system, that is to say, the pedagogic journey would happen from the developed experiences in the social – productive process of the young people and, because of that, the qualification of the family paper will happen again in the formation process. Through this work, we analyses the dimensions of the formation that it is being effective by the program is an important investment in the formation of the field, in its present level of development, the breaks are still a little evident with the practice of the educational system and the about the agriculture family can only be felt through the institutionalization of the parallel processes that make feasible the presence of the families and the new generations of the earth

Relative age effect on the reaction time of soccer players under 13 years old
(2015-06) PENNA, Eduardo Macedo; MELLO, Marco Túlio de; FERREIRA, Renato Melo; MORAES, Luiz Carlos Couto de Albuquerque; COSTA, Varley Teoldo da
The relative age effect, which is the advantage obtained by an athlete born closer to the beginning of the selection year, has been shown to be an important variable in the development of soccer players. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of the season of birth on the choice reaction time (CRT) of elite soccer athletes in the under 13 years of age category. Seventy-six athletes participated who were 13.36 ± 0.45 years old. The volunteers were tested with a CRT test, and the results were divided according to the semester of birth (S1 or S2). We conducted a t-test in order to compare the results between groups and a Pearson correlation analysis to verify the associations between variables. The results indicated no differences in reaction time (r= .033 and p = .772) or movement time (r = .0073 and p = .530). It was concluded that for this population, the season of birth does not influence the performance of the capabilities tested.

Throughout their teaching experience, teachers reelaborate, adapt and transmit the vast knowledge received along their initial educational process by the reflection of their own experience. This wide range of knowledge started from the teaching process, here Mathematics, becomes the basis of their professional identity. Due to the peculiarities of the Math students in the YAE (Young and Adults Education), this knowledge becomes specific too. Such peculiarities demands a reeducation, which, in most cases happens through a reflection. This research (named: Knowledge generated after the Math teaching experience in the EJA: contributions for the discussion over the graduation of Math teachers in UFPA.) aims to highlight the knowledge produced by the teaching experience process from what was said by Math teachers and trainees from YAE in the relations teachers x students, teachers x graduating contents and teachers x teachers. This is a critical look of teachers and senior trainees? own educational background and field experience, promoting an understanding, indicating guidelines for a graduation which can observe these peculiarities. For data collecting the instrument used were the controlled interview with teachers and trainees. The field experience knowledge regarding the curriculum, the students of the YAE, peculiarities of their adult life and the contextualization of the Math contents among others were highlighted. The characteristic of the reflections expressed by the teachers and trainees when speaking during the interview show that this knowledge is unnoticedly present and also that it needs to be highlighted, to have special attention and brought to discussion.

This research aims to examine the ways that interactions are established and mediated by smartphones among young islanders of Murutucu, located in the city of Belem, state of Pará, living in a reality marked by the transition between urban and rural in the Amazon of Pará. Listening to the young people, we conducted a qualitative study, consisting of direct observations, interviews and semi-structured questionnaires, involving issues related to communicative interactions (GOFFMAN, 2012), contemplated in three analytical levels: sociocultural, spatio-temporal and technological. The routine of the components of this study unfolds between Murutucu and Belém, where they have to travel daily in order to study, acquiring that way different spatio-temporal perceptions and news forms of sociabilities (SIMMEL, 2006). This way, the young people studied are framed in the category covering the new ruralities (CARNEIRO, 2012) that can be translated from the junction of elements present in the local culture and the incorporation of new habits and techniques. Murutucu has particular dynamics in its context: it is intersected by so-called holes; it does not have streets that connect their homes or have play areas that integrate the local youngsters. In this context, access to the Internet, facilitated with the use of smartphones, acquires a fundamental role in the interactions woven by the young population, because this device allows an informational mobility that is not limited by physical mobility. The smartphone, with its omnipresent, portable and mobile features inserts the youngsters of Murutucu in a larger mobility and is understood as a form of media coverage, which sets diverse uses. However, the use of technological devices and the consequent expansion of forms of interaction did not result in a loss of the bond of the young people with the inhabited place. The local island of this research is considered owner of essential elements of the way of life of the young people, such as security, tranquility and silence, revealing an intense sense of belonging to the place of origin. For the subjects that make up this research, the technology is seen as a redeeming truth that brings salvation, maintaining their interpersonal relationships; however, it is not used to reverberate existing problems in Murutucu who do not have access to services that meet the basic human needs such as education, health, water and sanitation system. The smartphone is relationed by the interviewed as a mean of communication and transposes the limitations present in the territory of the island. This way, the youth usually interact in a wide form in the virtual environment.
