Agarrada nos jogos de identidade quilombola: representatividade, conflitos e resistência no Arquipélago do Marajó
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-11-05) SANTOS, Paulo Henrique Santos dos; ZAMPARONI, Valdemir Donizette; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9786959916347562; CARDOSO, Denise Machado; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2685857306168366
This study addresses Agarrada, a traditional wrestling practice featured in the Quilombola Identity Games in the Marajó Archipelago, focusing on the communities of Salvaterra, Pará. The work explores how this practice, beyond its playful and competitive aspects, serves as a space for identity reaffirmation, as well as symbolic and political resistance. Agarrada, deeply integrated into the daily lives of the quilombola people, is analyzed from different perspectives, ranging from its symbolic value to the tensions and narrative disputes surrounding it. The research also investigates the land and territorial conflicts faced by the quilombola communities, relating them to the practice of Agarrada, which becomes a reflection of ongoing political and social struggles. The methodology includes interviews with quilombola leaders, participant observations during the games, and documentary analysis, highlighting the importance of Agarrada not only from a sporting perspective but as a symbol of resistance and community mobilization. The study concludes that the quilombola struggle transcends the realm of physical competition, representing a form of resistance against exclusion and the erasure of the ancestral heritage of Salvaterra's quilombola communities.

Grilagem de terras e assassinatos: a revolta camponesa em Moju/PA na década de 1980
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-06) SACRAMENTO, Elias Diniz
This article analyzes the conflicts over land tenure that occurred in the municipality of Moju in the 1980s and what led peasants in the Jambuaçu region to invade the city in early 1988 in an orchestrated action that sought to end violence rampant that occurred there. I try to show how the agro-industrial projects, when installed in this municipality, were gradually changing the existing scenario, often being the main causes of the clashes between rural workers and owners of the enterprises supported by the state and by the use of police force and the gunfire that caused even the death of several people, including PDS councilman Edmilson Soares, unionist Virgílio Serrão Sacramento and farmers “Canindé” and “João”, the latter two cases being the 'trigger' of the peasant revolt that occurred there.

The aim of this master's thesis was to analyze the ongoing struggle for the agrarian reform in southeastern Pará, using the newspaper O Grito da PA 150: Terra e Liberdade as its main source. The alternative newspaper was published by the Diocese of Marabá (PA) between 1980 and 1987, and was one of the main voices in this period of information, mobilization and political training for rural workers. Because of its content in favor of agrarian reform during the transition process from the military dictatorship (1964-1985) to the country's New Republic, O Grito da PA 150 ended up arousing the hatred and persecution of farmers, jagunços, civil and military authorities who were active in the region. However, this didn't stop the alternative newspaper from continuing to publicize the conflicts and mobilize the peasants in campaigns for agrarian reform, in the Assembly of the People of God, Neighbourhood Associations, Basic Ecclesial Communities (CEBs), Trade Union Oppositions and in the parties opposing the dictatorship. In addition to analyzing the O Grito da PA 150 and the specialized bibliography on the subject, other sources of interest for the development of the research were inserted, such as hemerographic sources (newspapers and magazines), documentation produced by the National Information Service (SNI), judicial documents, bulletins, booklets, minutes of meetings, letters and oral reports.
