Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Amazônia: inferno verde ou paraíso perdido? cenário e território na literatura escrita por Alberto Rangel e Euclides da Cunha(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-09) QUEIROZ, José Francisco da SilvaThe Amazon representation either made by the foreign perspective, or by an autochthonous sight, is manifested wrongly, if not pernicious. An imaginary, sometimes fanciful, sometimes hellish has been established along a historical repetition of (pre) concepts and stereotypes. In many cases, literature has served to this standardization on the attempt to understand and explain the Amazonian region. The first literary texts that put the Amazon in focus in the national Brazilian literary scene are linked to positivism principles in vogue in the nineteenth century and are concomitantly inserted in the realismnaturalism literary tradition. In discussion of the Green Hell (1908) and The Amazon: land without history (1909), respectively written by Alberto Rangel and Euclides da Cunha; we can find these two perspectives: a terrible place or a paradise. In this paper, we will discuss the ideological bases present in the paratextual discourse (GENETTE, 2009) that support the infernal or paradisiacal characterization of the Amazon; questioning at last how the narrative discourse (Fictionality/Factuality) (STIERLE, 2002; SCHMID, 2010) intends to be taken as representative of a space and of societies that dwell there in a certain historical context.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A fissão no paradigma distópico: 1984 e Verde vagomundo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-10-11) COSTA, Alline Araújo; SARMENTO-PANTOJA, Tânia Maria Pereira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3707451019100958The dissertation analyzes, in the first instance, the catastrophic and dramatic context identified in the narratives, the representative forms of the appeals to the historical contexts that these have manifested, since it had been realized that such historical episodes are fundamental for the observation of the corpus. This perception makes us consider the tense and oppressive climate present in societies as important points for the proposed research, and that the narratives converge on the same principles of state of exception. In this way, the mentioned literary productions separated for analysis are Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949), of George Orwell, acclimated in London and Verde Vagomundo, of Benedicto Monteiro, set in Alenquer. The works keep the memory of remarkable episodes in the history of the world, such as World War II and the Cold War, and closer to the national reality of Brazil, with the Military Dictatorship of 64. In this way, Miguel, the devil-goddess, is presented as resistant to any kind of authoritarian system, in addition, to the dictatorial impositions that reached his quiet city surrounded by Amazonian rivers and forests, it is then realized that the memories contribute crucially to the stance of resistance adopted by the protagonists. Winston, on the other hand, has constant memories and sensations of a different London of the one that is experiencing. Accompanying this small panorama of works, we will see in this text the state of exception as a dystopian structure of the narrative, a social condition that presses the characters to silence themselves before repression and their unconformity. Thus, it is necessary to say, since then, that the analysis is comparative in the scope of childhood and the production of resistance from the memories of the two characters, within their particularities. For that reason, we will cover some topics that we consider pertinent to the research, such themes are present in the motto of approach proposed by Walter Benjamin; Giorgio Agamben; Michel Foucault; Aleda Assmann; Roberto Esposito; Alfredo Bosi, among others. This concern assumes plural dimensions, opening the way for discussions that go beyond the niche of environmental ecology and political geography, becoming a theme of a planetary order. More specifically in the field of literary studies, the relevance of this western concern in the space of poetic saying becomes evident, transposed into different types, modes and discursive genres. And, if sometimes, due to the opacity on the surface of the poetic text, it is imperceptible, this same literary strategy, paradoxically, is what makes this saying possible. Based on this idea, the present thesis is intended to present a reading of the work Viagem a Andara, o livro invisível, by the writer from Pará Vicente Franz Cecim, son of the contemporary Amazon, emphasizing the presence of madness as event of resistance to the explorer/dominator both in the internal context of the fables and in the effect of estrangement aroused by the formal ruptures present in the work. This double deviant outline will allow us to investigate how the power relations between the mad subject and the dominator are constructed and/or how the truths of the text-man are produced. The corpus selected for this approach consists of the seven books that make up the edition published by Editora Iluminuras (1988), titled in the same chronological order in which they appear in this volume: A asa e a serpente, Os animais da terra, Os jardins e a noite, Terra da sombra e do não, Diante de ti só verás o Atlântico, O sereno e As armas submersas. From the comparative reading between the works of the set, it will be possible to perceive both the transversal presence of madness as an explicit theme of the narratives, as well as the transgressive character of the literary process, elaborated from unconventional constructions. These two axes will form the basis for the construction of the third axis whose topics are in line with the defense that the literary work is essentially the space of the outside or the madness of language. This tripod should offer enough elements to answer the fundamental questions of this study: a) How the madness or the madmen mentioned in Cecim's texts - analyzed in the light of Michel Foucault's studies regarding power relations and the historical forms of subjectivation - do they represent modes of resistance to the mechanisms of control and social coercion identified in the Andara set?; b) In what way the practices of repression of the subjects by the domains of the explorer and their developments are supplanted by the deviant character of the events, taken as resistance, both in the time of the fable and in the linguistic-formal construct of the text, revealing themselves as practices of the self or of12 freedom?; Or: c) How do these actions of resistance correspond to the “space of the outside” – thought taken from Blanchot – also conceived in the double face of the poetic text? The results of this academic endeavor led us, therefore, to the defense that madness, as resistance and practices of freedom of subjects in the context of narratives, can also be constituted as a form of subjectivation or writing of the self of the literary making itself - a response motivated by the clamor of the Cecinian text, rebelled and insurgent against the dictates of the civilizing process to which the Amazonian man is submitted.
