Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A presença inglesa no Brasil e sua influência nas obras de escritores brasileiros do século XIX(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-08-31) PEREIRA, Rosamaria Reo; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840This thesis has the main objective to investigate the presence of the English writers on the works of the Brazilian writers of the XIX century. The English novelists who were important at that time were Daniel Defoe, Samuel Richardson and Henry Fielding. They contributed to the rising and consolidation of the novel as a literary genre. In Brasil, the novel developed itself with a greater freedom and attracted the public reader. The new public started to read the novels which re-created the cities, the streets and the lives of the people who were emerging from a social class called: bourgeoisie. The new genre which appears in England increased business, with the proliferation of magazines and newspapers of popular and literary topics. The Brazilian writers such as José de Alencar and Machado de Assis were influenced by these English writers; however, this influence was not only reflected on the novels of those writers, but also on business, on culture and on the social life in Brazil. Some narratives, written by José de Alencar, show in a subtle way, the British influence, their habits and customs over the economic, political and cultural life of Brazil of the XIX century. Some other examples of this presence are reveled on the works of Machado de Assis through quotations, references and allusions. Machado de Assis in his novels does some references to English writers either from the XVI and XVIII century or from the XIX century, such as Shakespeare, Swift, Fielding, Sterne, Lamb and Dickens, among other English writers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Bruno de Menezes, Dalcídio Jurandir e De Campos Ribeiro e as territorializações afro-amazônicas urbanas (da belle époque à década de trinta)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-11-22) SANTOS, Josiclei de Souza; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592The present paper makes a reading of the profane and sacred Afro-Amazonian territorializations in the city of Belém from the nineteenth to the twentieth century, and in the first decades of it, from the works Gostosa Belém de Outrora (1965), by José de Campos Ribeiro, Belém do Grão Pará (1960), by Dalcídio Jurandir, and Batuque (1939), by Bruno de Menezes, observing how the mentioned authors, through their experiences and research, got to create works that reinserted Afro-American minority groups in the narrative of the city. Amazonian communities that had been concealed by the narrative of the majority groups of the Amazon belle époque period, which took place during the gomiferous economic cycle, and these communities were hidden from the conformation narrative of the city. In this cycle there was an enunciative agency of Euro-indigenous essentiality, fed through an artistic production committed to the State apparatus. It is interesting for this paper what the referred works have of Minor Literature, working with the signs of Afro-Amazonian territorializations in the city of Belém, erasing the origin genealogies that generate racisms and hierarchies, which diminished the African descent participation in the Amazonian history. As tools for reading the studied works will be used Comparative Studies, as well as Cultural Studies, in a transdisciplinary perspective.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O cangaço em “Fogo morto” e em “Os Desvalidos”(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-10-29) MENESES, Antonio Alan Dantas de; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592This study aims to establish a comparative analysis between novels of the twentieth century Brazilian literature, regarding the approach taken by the works of social and historical phenomenon of the cangaço. The works Fogo Morto of José Lins do Rego and the Os Desvalidos of Francisco Dantas represent two different moments of northeast fictional production. The first work is inserted into the fiction of the '30s and '40s. The Fogo Morto consists in the tenth novel of the writer represented by character Jose Amaro, saddler that turns into helper outlaw Antonio Silvino. The second works published in 1993 represents regional fiction. The novel is based in the point of view of character Coriolano that unlike Jose Amaro he demonstrates hatred by cangaço represented by Lampião. The comparative analysis of the work was preceded by a historical study of the cangaço, as well as, the ambiguous characterization of the “cangaçeiro” presents in the northeast popular imagination. Indeed, the cangaceiro is represented as hero and sometimes seen as outlaw. The contradictory point of view appears in the two novels analyzed in this work. The historical approach of the cangaço is made from studies of authors such as Facó Rui (1983), Maria Isaura Pereira de Queiroz (1977) and Luis Bernardo Pericás (2010). It was also essential a brief survey of Camara Cascudo (2005) which helps to understand the cangaceiro as a regional folk hero. Finally, for the comparative study between of Fogo Morto and Os Desvalidos were used works of authors such as José Paulo Paes (1995) and Sonia Lucia Ramalho de Farias (2006), which supply important elements to relation between works of nature regionalist produced by writers from the Northeast.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cartografia de Irene na trilogia de Lindanor Celina(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-06-25) PENHA, Maria das Neves de Oliveira; SILVA, Joel Cardoso da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6918547599708778This search is inserted in the thematic axle literature and culture to investigate the trilogy’s protagonist of the writer Lindanor Celina, composed by the works: Menina Que Vem de Itaiara, Estradas do Tempo-foi and Eram Seis Assinalados. The work traces the trajectory of the protagonist Irene, since the childhood until the majority, trying to get all the conditioning that influenced in the formation of her personality and behaviour. The work is divided into four chapters, the first, tackle the theoric purposes that gives it support. They are essentially: autobiography, dialogism, polyphony and intertextuality; gender theory and psychological theory of the psychoanalysis field. The second chapter presents the life and work of the writer, it discusses the biographical boarding in the studied works, as well as shows the criticisms about the trilogy. The third chapter, analysis the intertextuality between the novels to be studied, and also two of these with the Dalcídio Jurandir’s novel Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the works analysis and the conclusions arrived in the study.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Contos de Grimm e novos contos de Grimm: tradução e adaptação em Monteiro Lobato(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-04) TRUSEN, Sylvia MariaMonteiro Lobato’s work is well known in the field of literature for children, and so is his effort to emancipate the genre of European canons. However, his task as translator to transfer and circulate a large number of foreign literature works within the national environment, seems to contradict his project of founding a own Brazilian children’s literature. With the review of the reception of the Grimm´s collection in his work, especially the adaptations of Grimm Fairy Tales and the New Tales of Grimm, the task is therefore to analyse how Lobato has reconciled the purposes in apparently disagree.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O erotismo revisitado na poética de Herberto Helder(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-02) FERNANDEZ, Rafaella Diaz; LEAL, Izabela Guimarães Guerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2507019514021007The Herberto Helder’s writings are very extensive and include works of poetry and translation. It is noticeable in his way of writing a close relationship between them. Both emerge displaying an erotic potence which plays a fundamental role in the Herbert’s creation. The translation is intrinsically related to creation, the peculiar manner the poet names this work poems changed to Portuguese” itself, reveals it. Poetry and translation also promote violence against the language, both of them deform it, moving it from a place of meaning to another applying the power of the empty on it. The word meaning deconstruction is what makes poetic creation possible. The Herbert’s writing is related to the body and sexual organs images, blood, sperm and spittle aim at the deconstructed body now thought in energetic parts, and it is from the deformation that emerges the whole for the poetic act. It is intended to think about the importance of eroticism as a vector of poetic construction. In this respect, the Georges Bataille’s reflections are fundamental to guide the eroticism and relate it to the Herberto Helder’s writings. In this way, the hypotheses launched here is that eroticism imposes a violence against the word and the body which is necessary for the work of creation. In this sense, our seek is for the presence of eroticism in the poetry and translation of Herberto Helder, privileging the texts where the image of the creation are found.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Leituras intertextuais de O Tetraneto del-rei de Haroldo Maranhão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-25) POMPEU, Thaís do Socorro Pereira; CASTILO, Luís Heleno Montoril del; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3519128535996125This work focuses on researching Haroldo Maranhão‟s writing, trying to comprehend the aspects that influenced this autor, as well as the particularity of his writing, full of scholar features, in parallel with its obscene phrases and expressions of popular value. For accomplishing that, this work was based on an analysis of his great work Tetraneto Del-Rei, which presents issues related to our colonization period with a wealth of details, however under a different and reinterpretive prism from the various signs and elements manifested in the work of Haroldo. The image of the character Torto converges to the reinterpretive character, a Portuguese colonizer who stars moments of weakness, anxiety, fears and desires, feelings which are not included in previous works which have spread the imaginary of a hero in prose and verse. As a conceptual and literary allowance, we present precursors authors when compared to Haroldo Maranhão, seeking its relations with the style of those previous authors. Finally, this study aimed to demonstrate the presence of three intertextual elements in Tetraneto Del-Rei: new readings of the colonization process, the hat significance and the obscene possible interpretations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A reconstrução histórica da cabanagem em “Lealdade” e da guerra civil moçambicana em “As Duas sombras do rio”(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) BARROS, Liliane Batista; PADILHA, Laura Cavalcante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0119590982312606; SARMENTO-PANTOJA, Tânia Maria Pereira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3707451019100958In this thesis, we aim at comparatively analyzing the historical reconstruction of Cabanagem and the Mozambican Civil War in the novels Lealdade (1997), by Márcio Souza and As duas sombras do rio (2003), by João Paulo Borges Coelho. In order to do so, we present a brief historical background of Brazilian and Mozambican colonization, as well as, the periods of independence and post-independence, besides the theoretical route on historical novels, resistance, memory, and the theory of space, in this case, the river , which we use as an analytical tool. In the work of Borges Coelho, the analysis was made from the crossing of the characters by rivers that were triggered by the arrival of civil war. We focus our reading in Leonidas Ntsato, a character that metaphorizes Mozambique divided in two by civil war and we highlight the role of the narrator in this novel. In the narrative of Márcio de Souza we follow the trips of Fernando, the narrator of the novel, which has its biography interconnected with events that would trigger the Cabanagem, years later.
