Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A arte popular entre o real e o imaginário: o imaginário na xilogravura e no cordel de J. Borges(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-07-08) GOMES, Paulo Henrique de Oliveira; SOUZA, José Afonso Medeiros; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6045766440369156The folk art between reality and fantasy: the imaginary in the woodcut and string literature by J. Borges investigates Folk Art by studying the artwork of J. Borges and several views about this theme since the first half of the twentieth century. This research emphasizes the understanding and positioning of artists and scholars about the role of the art of brazilian people in the creation of a national and cultural identity, as well as the space of folk art in the art system, particularly the contributions of Mário de Andrade and Lina Bo Bardi and considerations of Gilbert Durand and Michel Maffesoli about this universe. Throughout this narrative is set a possible panorama of folk art and its evolution (or evolution of its study and debate) to locate the subject during the ancient history until the present times. Among this, this research presents the artist from Pernambuco J. Borges, recognized for his string literature and woodcut works. This research demonstrates how the artist is influenced by several issues and the way he transposes it to his work, transforming his artworks in a registration of everyday life, social and fantastic experiences. Bibliographic research with interviews, field and life observations build this job and form a basis - among many possibilities - where Brazilian folk art can be discussed.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) As contribuições de Vicente Salles (1931-2013) para os estudos da literatura de cordel na Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-12) MENEZES NETO, Geraldo Magella deThe aim of this paperis to analyze the main contributions of anthropologist and folklorist Vicente Salles (1931-2013) for studies of cordel literature Amazon. More specifically in the leaflets of Editora Guajarina, which operated in the capital of Belém between 1914 and 1949. In this sense, the work seeks to analyze how women are portrayed in the cordelistas' narratives, considering the historical, social and cultural context of the time. The research investigates whether the representations reinforce traditional gender stereotypes or whether, in some way, they offer more complex and diverse views of female experiences. It is evident that the cordel literature in question contributes to perpetuating gender stereotypes, but also offers clues to resistance and ongoing changes. This duality reinforces the relevance of studying female representations in the leaflet, both to understand the history of women and to question and deconstruct prejudices in the present. Therefore, the study examines the influence of these narratives on the construction of collective imaginaries about the role of women in Amazonian and Pará society in the period in question, but also demonstrates the importance of such themes in the present.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Literatura de cordel: entre versos e rimas sotádicos e sacânicos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-03-16) CARVALHO, Ana Maria de; FERNANDES, José Guilherme dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7023812449790431In general, the thematic classifications of Cordel attend educational purposes, arranged in groups which can be thematic or structure based. During the research I found thematic classifications about: religion, banditry, love etc. In the work of Alves Sobrinho (2003), among the issues cited by him, I highlight the issue of depravity, defined as that which is obscene and immoral. That same theme is called sotadic by Salles (2003), that is, productions whose contents do not follow the rules of morals and morality. This type of Cordel reached its culmination in the 50s, in the Northeast of Brazil. Currently, in the state of Para, one of its representatives is the poet Antonio Juraci Siqueira. This study aims to analyze this type of Cordel and read them as a cultural text, which is able to say something more than dirtiness. Thus, it is important to mention the relationship between laughter and sexuality which arises from the sotadic theme. The discussion will present the theoretical assumptions based on Bergson (2007), Foucault (1977), Propp (1992), Idelette Muzart-Fonseca dos Santos (2006).Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Por uma história do livro e da leitura no Pará: o caso da Guajarina, editora de folhetos de cordel (1922-1949)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-03-14) MENEZES NETO, Geraldo Magella de; LACERDA, Franciane Gama; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7645105260749396; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1007392320101957This dissertation analyzes the role played by the publishing house Guajarina in the dissemination of a kind of popular literature known as “cordel”, in the state of Pará, Brazil, between 1922 and 1949, from the viewpoint of a history of books and reading. Thus, it examines the cordel beyond the texts, focusing on issues such as the association between cordel, popular culture and folklore; the production and circulation of booklets, and the representations and strategies of poets when writing about crime stories. The analysis of Guajarina and its booklets allows us to understand some of the many meanings of reading practices of society in the first half of the twentieth century. Newspapers, magazines and bound collections of folk songs were also used as sources for this research.
