Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ação coletiva e meios de vida: análise das transformações operadas pela Cooperativa dos Pequenos Produtores Agroextrativistas de Lago do Junco (Coppalj) em comunidades do Médio Mearim, MA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-02-26) NASCIMENTO, Aline Souza; PORRO, Roberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2282097420081043The search for better living conditions and commercialization of production led to the emergence of the Cooperative of Small Agroextractive Producers of Lago do Junco (Coppalj), which, since its emergence, has contributed to improve social reproduction conditions for its subjects, through a combination of a range of social, economic and environmental resources, that allow them to guard against lack of opportunities, poverty and marginalization resulting from social injustices. The work seeks to identify the transformations in local livelihoods derived from the combination of strategies adopted by Coppalj and the perceptions of members and non-members about its effectiveness, as well as its contribution to the construction of self-management, peasant autonomy and productive and technological diversification within its territory. The study is based on bibliographic and documentary consultation, combined with semi-structured and interactive interviews in communities where Coppalj operates. It demonstrates how, with its policy of valuing agricultural and extractive production, the cooperative collaborated for the emergence of new perspectives and the increase in families‟ access to income. It also highlights the actions taken by peasants during agrarian conflicts, which resulted in the creation of organizations that have played an important role in guaranteeing their rights, and the contribution of actions of the Catholic Church to peasant political organization in the Mearim Valley.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Internet e agricultura familiar: algumas percepções sobre as mudanças no meio rural(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-06) SCHNEIDER, Sergio; CONCEIÇÃO, Ariane Fernandes daThis paper discusses how the Internet can influence the livelihoods of family farmers, since it can be seen a double consequence, being, on the one hand, the Internet as a generator of information and knowledge and, on the other hand, such a tool as a way of homogenizing and/or massifying the rural environment. It will analyze the transformations in the brazilian countryside trying to elucidate the repercussion of the Internet in the culture and way of life in the rural environment through the process of innovation and technological development. Subsequently, the rural will be treated “inside the gate”, taking into account the farmers, their families, the issue of land and labor; and "out of the gate," reflecting on farmers, their organizations and the market, to finally finish the paper discussing the challenges for rural development from the perspective of the media. It could be perceived in the course of the discussion, the Internet, because it was newly inserted in the field, has not sufficiently affect livelihoods of family farmers, but when they become aware of its potential, this will become an important tool in property.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pobreza multidimensional, território e meios de vida na região da Ilha das Onças, Município de Barcarena-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-07-02) RODRIGUES, Danuzia Lima; BAGOLIN, Izete Pengo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9977571999200680; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4325-7677; SANTOS, Ricardo Bruno Nascimento dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3685339264701382This thesis deals with a study on the territorial dynamics that has developed in the region of the islands around the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB), state of Pará. The study is organized from a general introductory chapter on the Amartya Sen's training approach and its theoreticalmethodological developments in the field of multidimensional poverty assessment. Three chapters are presented in the form of articles dealing with the evaluation of multidimensional poverty based on different methodologies applied to a field study carried out in Ilha das Onças, municipality of Barcarena. For each of the chapters, we sought to develop and present alternative theoretical and methodological tools aimed at presenting a new look at the problem of the relationship between poverty and development, based on a key mediation commanded by a look at the territorial dimension. The first article, presented in chapter 3, starts from the observation of the impacts of the ongoing urbanization process throughout the region of the Amazon River Delta. Movement that includes the process of urbanization and growth of the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB). Chapter 4 deals with the application of a synthetic index inspired by the Multidimensional Poverty Index (IPM), adapted to the territorial conditions of the Island of Ounces. Chapter 5, in turn, deals in a specific way with the study developed to evaluate the vulnerability conditions of the livelihoods of the population living on the Island of Onças, which aims to be carried out based on the analysis of qualitative and quantitative conditions that are evaluation of the levels of training of the inhabitants of the island. The results point to the complexity of assessing multidimensional poverty when viewed from its territorial aspects. The process of increasing the vulnerability of riparian populations could be evaluated at the same time as the urbanization process advances. In this sense, it has been observed that, despite the improvement in income conditions, the local population still feels quite restricted in terms of the scope of their substantive freedoms, which seems to be accompanied by an increase in their degree of vulnerability to an excessive level of specialization that has led the population to a low degree of productive diversification.
