Análise da produção de lodo de esgoto e da capacidade de disposição do aterro sanitário do Aurá na região metropolitana de Belém para os próximos 20 anos

Belém Metropolitan Region has few and incomplete informations about production and destination of sewage sludge, because just little part of the sludge generated in septic tank and collective Sewage Works is throwed away without control in Aurá Sanitary Landfill. Because of this, is usual to throw the sludge in water bodies and in the ground, worsen the problems of pollution/contamination in the urban areas. Therefore, this work has the objective of analyzing the increase of production of sludge and evaluate the impact in the Aurá Sanitary Landfill. The search was developed in Belém Metropolitan Region, composed by Belém, Ananindeua, Benevides, Marituba and Santa Bárbara do Pará. It was divided in 2 stages. In the first stage it was estimated the production of the sludge (brute and drained) of septic tanks and in the collective Sewage Works during 2009 to 2030, and the second one was the availability of an area to disposal in the Aurá Sanitary Landfill. In the period studied, it was verified that by the way of the increase of the content of sludge drainage doesn’t has too many impact in the content of the residence solid waste, the deficiency of the available areas in the Aurá Sanitary Landfill is a problem that has to be solved as soon as possible, otherwise residence solid waste and sewage sludge produced in Belém Metopolitan Region won’t be well disposal, as a matter of fact that the prevision is the fast implicate of the free content of Aurá Sanitary Landfill.

Desenvolvimento de sistema computacional para avaliação de lodo de esgoto sanitário como biomassa na geração de energia

Development of a computational system to assess sewage sludge sanitary as biomass to generate energy in combustion processes, taking into account Brazilian technical and environmental norms. Classes were created and implemented in the system to assess sewage sludge as energy potential and considered limits established in the norms NBR 10004/04, NBR 10004/87 and CONAMA Resolution nº 316/2002 for adverse environmental impacts, damages or risks to public health , identifying the feasibility of use of this residual as biomass to generate energy in combustion processes. The system was developed using a Model-View-Controller (MVC) software considered an architectural pattern, with method represented by logical rules, whose input data were the results from laboratory determination of sewage sludge samples, test processing and logical sequence of rules, and reports to enable the user to make a decision. To validate the system it was used results from technical work on the use of sewage sludge as biomass to generate energy in experimental scale, observing that the limits adopted in the system were appropriate as parameters to evaluate the energy potential of the sampled sludge, its toxicity and air pollution; that the explanatory and alert messages have been clearly sent; that the logical sequence of rules had been progressively implemented; and that the values obtained in the system had been compatible with the validation works. Finally, it was concluded that the system developed may be used to expedite decision-making, mainly, in waste treatment plant with large quantities of sludge.

Utilização do lodo de estação de tratamento de efluentes da indústria de injeção plástica como matéria-prima para indústria cerâmica

The plastic injection industry has a fundamental importance to the national economy because it is responsible for the production of primary inputs for many industries from electronics. These companies produce effluents coming from units of paint by blasting and spraying. This waste requires special treatment for their separation, storage and disposal. This paper studies an alternative way to use this waste in the red ceramic industry, evaluating parameters that influence important properties of artifacts made of red clay as density, porosity and bending strength, measured for mixtures of 2%, 5% and 10 % by weight of waste, for the clay used, the results show that there is influence of this material in solid state reactions and can improve the properties cited.
