    The search for efficient management is one of the main concerns in companies. Therefore, eliminating losses in maintenance can be done at the time when there is another way to perform a task. The research design was an exploratory case study. The objective was to map the type of critical loss in an automotive maintenance process in the operation and process functions, evaluating the factors that influence this loss in the flow of materials and services. The methodology was divided into three phases. The first phase was data collection, using research instruments and quality tools. A second phase was to carry out the mapping in the workplace, tasks and losses in the operation and in the process, to identify and prioritize the critical variables influencing the identified losses. The third phase was to evaluate and evaluate the critical variables using the Likert scale and Fuzzy logic. The result of the mapping was the identification of the critical loss, classified as "waiting". The problem related to this loss is that the vehicles stopped at the workshop due to the lack of parts with a simple delivery time of 3 days. The rates of delay for delivery obtained in the evaluation of the Likert scale is 48.8% and in Fuzzy Logic it is 50%, such results prevented that the difference between the two methods is low, thus confirming the reality of the process.
