Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) O Empoderamento virtual do consumidor como mecanismo de atuação cívica on-line indutor de novos padrões ao segmento empresarial(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-07-30) FREIRE, Gabriela Ohana Rocha; SOARES, Dennis VerbicaroWith the technological advances provided by globalization and digital immersion, cyberspace has become the main infrastructure for commercial transactions, economic management, advertising, and communication between individuals, with this, a new actor came to appear in postmodern society: the consumer 4.0. Unlike a mere buyer and a reflection of the broad capitalist changes in the culture of consumption, the market scenario that, most of the time, prioritizes for-profit and the distancing of the State from the fundamental rights of consumers, this digital subject started to bear becoming increasingly connected between online and offline, being one step away from accessing information, thus requiring a more responsible supplier with a good market image. In this sense, this dissertation aimed to analyze the strengthening of digital solidarity among consumers through acts of boycotts and public manifestations, individual or collective, emitted in online social media to be perceived as an alternative mechanism to the exercise of citizenship independent of the performance governmental. The methodology was based on an interdisciplinary theoretical-bibliographic and documentary framework, predominantly by the deductive method, using qualitative research and an empirical component of an elucidative character, whether the analysis of cases occurred during the period from 2018 to 2020 in the environment of main online social media - Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and Twitter - to invalidate the conclusions of the theoretical research. The study was divided into three sections. The first approached about the culture of consumption and the false promises of post-modernity from the perspective of market capitalism and its complications in the identity and subjectivity of the consumer. The second part focused on the perspective of the state scenario and the distancing of government policies towards the citizen-consumer, considering the obstacles in the three spheres of power - Legislative, Executive, and Judiciary -, the crisis of the individual and collective judicial model and the accentuated consumer vulnerability. In the last section, the discussion about the technological and informative immersion of the consumer and supplier between the online and offline environments, the meaning of brands in the digital consumer society, social media, and the acts of dissatisfaction, deepened mainly through the acts of boycott or “virtual cancellation” perceived in the economic, ecological, religious, minority, labor boycott or social, relational, experiential and/or political modalities, discussing, finally, about the exercise of digital citizenship through of these consumer manifestations and their obstacles. Thus, through the subsidies collected, it became possible to perceive that, behaviorally, the consumer has behaved in a more selective and identitary way about the decision-making factors of purchase in addition to the price of the merchandise, to value the experiences and share them in the fluid and interactive environment of social media, emphasizing their civic virtues of self-regulation, awareness of their power and freedom of choice, causing sensible changes in this new space of economic interaction, importing, not infrequently, in the loss of assets of the supplier and the need to readjust or reaffirm more responsible behavior given the greater likelihood of having a negative image associated with your brand, due to social punishments perpetrated by consumers and potential consumers.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) @midiasnoensino: uma proposta de uso do Instagram como ferramenta educacional para o ensino superior(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-11-22) BRIGIDO, Jéssica de Almeida Vasconcelos; VELOSO, José Miguel Martins; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3550143585946842; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8969-7320Social Media platforms have astonishingly spread to the point they are part of the daily lives of most people, modifying the way they now communicate. However, such technologies have not yet effectively made themselves available as educational tools ready for use in different leveis of teaching. Based on this framework, this dissertation describes the steps taken to answer the following focus question: in which ways higher education teachers can use the social media Instagram as an educational tool? For that purpose, a series of experimentations were carried in other to achieve a main goal: the proposition of possibie uses of Instagram as educational tool to assist teachers in pedagogical practices and to promote learning processes in higher education environments. A quaiitative and expioratory approach was chosen in order to achieve such goais. This approach inciuded methodological procedures such as bibliographic research, participant observation (PERUZZO, 2017), validation of results before an experts' panei (PINHEIRO; FARIAS; ABE-LIMA, 2013), data collection, the anaiysis of feedback and the materiaiization of the intended product. Instagram was tested as educational tool during two courses of the undergraduate program in Technology of Multimedia Production at the Pará Federal University. By looking for different meanings for Instagram usage, activities were carried to experiment to which extent this social media use could follow aiong students' learning path, enable feedback practices, stimuiate creative abilities, and promote collaborative learning. The Instagram profiie @midiasnoensino is presented here as result of this dissertation process, displaying possibiiities in pedagogical practices using this social media, in the form of posts and adaptabie tempiates. Activities available in the profiie are interesting aiternatives for teachers accessing them, as they allow considerations on the uses and appropriations of Instagram apart from its most common uses in daiiy life. Such activities are asso open for adaptations and the creation of new meanings through the reorganization of possibiiities according to actual practices teachers experience in their work environments. That is, the proposed activities enable teachers to use creativity to deveiop actions that build knowiedge in a dialogic and collaborative manner.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A Moderação do prestígio percebido com o uso de novas redes sociais entre a preocupação com a privacidade e a adoção de novas tecnologias(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-06-07) CARNEIRO, Marcelo Pamplona; ARRUDA FILHO, Emilio Jose Montero; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9895428179606886; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1574-8332This research analyzes the power of influence of prestige in association with the phenomenon of the privacy paradox, based on three studies developed according to scenarios that present characteristics of innovation based on access to materialism in the form of a stimulus to obtain prestige as a sign of status. To this end, the aspects that stimulate the effect of the privacy paradox and influence the perception of prestige, concern with privacy and access to new Social Media were identified, as well as the analysis of trust as a antecedent variable to adoption, constituting a mediation between the concern for privacy and the adoption of these Media. The examination of the data showed that trust acts as a mediator of the effect of concern for privacy in the adoption of new Social Media and prestige, when associated with brands of companies with consolidated reputations, motivates the reduction of concern for privacy in consumers, considering the unique opportunities offered by Social Media in the content of perceived prestige, increasing its adoption.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) O museu conectado: as estratégias de comunicação da ciência do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi nas mídias sociais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-07) BARROS, Thiane de Nazaré Neves; SEIXAS, Netília Silva dos Anjos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2301685130625189The present study aimed to comprehend the science communication strategies articulated by the Emílio Goeldi Museum in Pará (MPEG) on their social network profiles on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube. In that sense, a short path about the history of the museum was made, in the context of the institutionalization of science in Amazonia, its moviment that was woven in nets until it formed itself into an amazonic subject, and its presence on online and offline environments. With the support from latin american cultural studies, the research begins in the theory of double epistemological rupture propounded by Santos (1989) and on the interactions as parts of the communicative process that offers the creation of “something new”, as presented by Braga (2012). The methodological support pointed on a dialogue between the quantitative and the qualitative, through the analysis of the content and the virtual etnography. During the data collection, an imersion on the profiles from the museum on social media was made, in order to comprehend its articulations when approaching Science, Technology and Inovation, in addition to its path on each analyzed space, during three distinct periods (different for each social media). The results show that to speak or write about science is the essence of MPEG, either on text or video; Amazonia is frequently presented as the speech place of the Museum; the amount of interactions is bigger in the strategies that involve image or video; on posts or tweets MPEG simultaneously articulates very well the use of more than one strategy; the more the Museum appropriates the complexity of each social media, the more the followers interact on the publications. As a conclusion, is clear that in this environment the communication processes are also interrupted many times, and that some movements started by MPEG on social media interfere directly or indirectly on its processes on an offline environment.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A Presença digital de conselhos de saúde: o uso de mídias sociais no processo de accountability de entidades de representação social(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-07-03) PINHEIRO, Cristina Lais dos Santos; DIAS, Lidiane Nazaré da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4706661632242562This research analyzed how the use of social media by state health councils can improve the accountability process and increase citizen participation. To this end, it analyzed almost 10,000 posts on the social networks Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) from 26 State Health Councils during the period from January 2019 to August 2023, covering the period before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The data showed a substantial difference in the use of platforms between the different regions of Brazil, with councils in the South and Southeast regions standing out for their greater digital activity compared to those in the North and Northeast regions, which demonstrated a more discreet online presence, with fewer posts and interactions with the general public. A relevant finding of the study was the preference for the use of Facebook followed by Instagram among the health councils analyzed; on the other hand, X was the least used platform, indicating an underutilized opportunity for effective communication with society. The most common areas of publication in the posts of the state health councils were about the dissemination of the council's agenda, dissemination of the activities carried out by the council, and encouragement of public participation. On the other hand, little was published about accountability for the resources received for the council's activities, complaints, and full disclosure of reports and documents prepared by the council. The study concluded that social networks and other digital technologies play a fundamental role in strengthening transparency and promoting social responsibility and oversight by civil society. When used strategically, social networks can contribute significantly to increasing citizen participation and improving the visibility of the activities of the State Health Councils. The research results support the perceived accountability presented by Aleksovka; Schillemans and Grimmelikhuijsen (2019), who explain how people internalize responsibility through a moral and ethical sense of acting in favor of society. The research indicates that State Health Councils in Brazil have a great opportunity to use social media as a tool to promote accountability and engagement with citizens and society at large. However, it is essential to invest in training council members in digital skills and online communication to make the most of these platforms. It is also important to develop more efficient and personalized communication strategies for each region and specific target audience. The research highlights how social media can be used to foster transparency and encourage civic engagement in public administration – topics of extreme importance for Applied Economics with regard to the efficient allocation of public resources and the pursuit of social equity. By examining how councils operate online and how people engage with them digitally, the study contributes and impacts by presenting insights for policy makers and administrators seeking to improve the use of resources and promote justice in the health area. The findings of this research can help in the creation of strategies and public policies that aim to strengthen local governments and promote more active community participation in social development, contributing to a more efficient, transparent and democratic health system.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sentidos da matriz energética brasileira na mídia: projetos hidrelétricos na Amazônia de FHC a Lula (2001-2002 e 2008-2009)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-08-31) BARROS, Thiago Almeida; RAVENA, Nírvia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0486445417640290This work is a content analysis on the debate about the Brazilian hydroelectric energy matrix in the media in two moments of sectorial crisis: first in 2001-2002, on the Fernando Henrique Cardoso’s government, when occurred the blackout and the energy rationing and emergency public policies were included in the PPA; second, in 2008-2009, on the Lula’s government, when it created the impression that the Brazilian energy system would not support the growth of the economy, especially given the threat of future blackouts, which led to the creation of an electrical component in PAC. From the corpus, collected editions of the newspaper O Globo, Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo in the period, we identified pressure groups and actors mostly occurring in the media sphere and how they legitimize the discourse of clean development and Amazon vocation for big dams like Belo Monte (Pará), São Francisco and Jirau (Rondônia). The groups, linked to industrial and construction sectors, using the media as one more tool to influence the behavior of public opinion and force the government, will eventually repeat business interests.
