Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Biologia reprodutiva de peixes cianídeos capturados nas proximidades dos terminais portuários do Pará e Maranhão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007) SANTOS, Nayara Barbosa; ROCHA, Rossineide Martins da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4371300451793081; FRÉDOU, Flávia Lucena; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4779271407117528Smallscale weakfish (Cynoscion microlepidotus), King weakfish (Macrodon ancylodon) e Pacora (Plagioscion surinamensis) are demersal sciaenids, largely distributed in the Brazilian coast. These species are important fishing resources. This study has the objective of describing aspects of the reproductive biology of these species caught in areas near to the harbors of Itaqui (Maranhão) and Miramar (Pará). For each species, the reproductive stages were macro and microscopically described, the length at first maturity, sexual proportion by month and size, the breeding period and type of spawning was also evaluated. Data were collected in a bimensal basis from December 2005 to October 2006. It was examined 247 individuals of C. microlepidotus, 253 of M. ancylodon and 251 of P. surinamensis. Individuals of C. microlepidotus, M. ancylodon and P. surinamensis measured from 175 to 780 mm, 187 to 399mm and 220 to 590 mm of total length, respectively. The relationship total length (mm) and total weight (g) for females, males e sexes grouped were highly significant for the three species, with negative alometry for C. microlepidotus and positive alometry for M. ancylodon and P. surinamensis. The length of first maturity (L50) for C. microlepidotus, considered grouped sexes was 260.8 mm, 235mm for males and 321mm total of length for females. For M. ancylodon, L50 for grouped sexes was 210.5 mm, 201.6mm for males and 221.8mm for females of total length. For P. surinamensis, L50 for grouped sexes, for males and for females were 279 mm, 305mm and 269mm of total length. Sexual proportion, considering the total number of individuals favored females for M. ancylodon (1male:3female) and favored males for P. surinamensis (2,02male:1female). For C. microlepidotus, male: female proportion was equivalent. Macroscopically, gonads of the three species were classified as Immature (A), Maturing (B), Mature (C) and Spawned/Spent (D), however, when analyzed microscopically, the stage B were sub-divided in initial and final maturing. The macro and microscopical evaluation of gonads indicated a prolonged spawning season, with reported peaks in June- August and December- February, coinciding to the rainfall transition period. The studied species complete their life cycle entirely near the harbors of Itaqui and Miramar, leading these areas to be classified as extremely sensitive especially when referring to possible oil spill.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Food categories reconstruction and feeding consumption estimates for the Sciaenid Macrodon ancylodon (Bloch & Schneider), and the congeneric fishes Stellifer rastrifer (Jordan) and Stellifer naso (Jordan) (Pisces, Perciformes) in the Caeté Estuary, Northern Coast of Brazil(2004-03) CAMARGO-ZORRO, Mauricio; ISAAC, Victoria JudithA quantitative method to estimate fish feeding consumption and energy intake from different food categories through the reconstruction of ingested preys based on hard not digestible body structures is presented. In order to establish the equations of the functional relationships between preys weight and body structures, stomachs of 1.086 specimens of Macrodon ancylodon (Bloch & Schneider, 1801), Stellifer rastrifer (Jordan, 1889), and Stellifer naso (Jordan, 1889) fish species were dissected. Consequently, preys reconstruction enabled a quantitative evaluation of food categories consumption. Results indicate a marked difference in diet composition and energy requirements according to fish species ontogenetic development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Nematode parasites of Pescada Gó, Macrodon ancylodon Bloch and Schneider, 1801 (Osteichthyes, Sciaenidae), from Vila dos Pescadores, Bragança-PA, Brazil(2012-12) FUJIMOTO, Rodrigo Yudi; SARMENTO, Aline de Melo Braun; DINIZ, Daniel Guerreiro; EIRAS, Jorge CostaThe objective of this work was to evaluate the host/parasite relationship of nematodes in Macrodon ancylodon. Ninety seven fishes (50 in wet season and 47 in dry season) were weighed (167.1 ± 109.9g) and measured (28.3 ± 5.2cm). Only twelve specimens were not infected by any parasites and the prevalence of infection was 87.6%. The highest prevalence values were observed in August and September (dry season, 100%). The stomach was the most infected organ during the whole months (prevalence of 64.2%, and mean intensity of 4.6±7.8 parasites/fish), and the medium intestine showed the lowest infection (prevalence 27.3% and mean intensity 2.5±2.1 parasites/fish). The nematodes were identified as Raphidascaris sp., Goezia sp. and Cucullanus sp. Only the male and juvenile fishes could be presented different values of infection according to rainfall, being more infected in August to October. The female hosts presented higher values of abundance and mean intensity of infection (p<0.01) throughout the year.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pesquisa de helmintos em musculatura e serosa abdominal de peixes de importância comercial capturados no litoral norte do Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-09-05) OLIVEIRA, Silvio Abner Lameira de; SOUZA, Raimundo Aderson Lobão de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4922849102516924With the objective of research the presence of helminthes, their frequencies and infection intensity in musculature and abdominal serose of commercial fishes process in Belém, State of Pará, Amazonian Region, it were examined 175 fish specimens belonging to four species caught in the North Coast of Brazil, among which three sea species Sciaenidae - Cynoscion acoupa, Cynoscion virescens and Macrodon ancylodon, and the estuarine catfish Ariidae - Arius proops. The fishes was measuring as for standard length, analyzing the musculature and adjacent abdominal serose in a “candling table” after filleted the samples. Just was founded parasitism for plerocercoids of cestode Trypanorhynch. The blastocysts captured were observed among of morphology and size, the same was mading with the scolices when liberated. All the species of fishes studied were parasitizing, with 16% in M. ancylodon, 77,78% in A. proops, 79,17% in C. virescens and 82% in C. acoupa, reaching an overall frequency to 61,71% (108 specimens) and an intensity of infection average about six blastocysts per fish. The parasitizing species, as well as frequency of infection, were as follows: Callitetrarhynchus gracilis (52,57%), Pterobothrium heteracanthum (13,71%), Poecilancistrium caryophyllum (12%) e Pterobothrium crassicolle (3,43%). Between infested fishes, 85,19% presented occurrence in the abdominal region (abdominal musculature and serose) and 81,48% muscular involvement (abdominal e body musculature). The specie P. heteracanthum showed preference to infect the abdominal region of fishes and the specie P. caryophyllum the musculature. There was significative association (P < 0,01) between the species of fishes analyzed and the frequency of infection.
