First, an analytical formulation for performance analysis of systems using Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) with a notch lter to mitigate narrowband interference caused by other systems operating within the same frequency band allocated to UWB systems. Then, a new front end for automatic modulation classi cation with the use of discriminative learning is proposed. This front end can be used by any discriminative classifier. Its basic idea is to sort the magnitude and phase of received symbols. The results obtained by the proposed classi er are competitive with other existing algorithms in the literature.
