Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caracterização geoquímica das drenagens afetadas pelo beneficiamento de ouro no distrito aurífero de Ginebra, departamento del Valle Del Cueda, Colômbia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 1995-10-30) RAMOS, Jader Muños; RAMOS, José Francisco da Fonseca; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8189651755374537The gold-bearing district of Ginebra shows regionally three well defined geological units: the Amaime formation (tectonized pillow-laves), the ophiolitic massif of Ginebra (sequency of peridotites, gabros, metabasalts, plagio-granites and micro-breccias) and the Buga”s batolith (quartz diorite varying to tonalite). The Buga”s batolith intrusion in the ofiolitic massif of Ginebra produced a hydrotermal alteration and a gold bearing sulfide mineralization in the contact zone, resulting a stockwork-like gold-bearing deposit surrounded by gold-bearing veins. The local miners have explored and exploted the district for almost a century, using rudimentar tecniques. A part of the ore and the tails are dispersed by gorges flowing into the Guabas river, from where the water for the municipal aqueducts of Ginebra e Guacarí is taken. This 1s the importance of this study. To obtain the geochemical evaluation of the heavy metal levels in the drainages of the zone, 27 water samples were collected in the district and analysed for As, Au, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Pb. Aditionally, 28 sediment samples (27 of stream sediments and 1 of suspension sediment) from the same zone were analysed for Ag, As, Au, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn. The statistical treatment applied to the results showed local anomalies related to the dispersion of mining tails. 4 Anomalous concentrations for As, Au, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Pb, as metals in solution in the waters, were detected near to the input of the effluents of mine to the gorges, due to a decay of the pH by oxidation of the sulfides within it. The pH background, varying from slightly basic to basic, is a geochemical barrier that decreases the anomalous concentrations of metals to normal levels in the waters, increasing their concentrations in the sediments. The stream sediments showed local anomalies for As, Au, Co, Cu, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn. The mercury detected in the district has an antropogenic source. This metal is used for gold amalgamation. Dangerous emissions of mercury to the stream sediments and the air are released by losses of amalgama”s recoverying and amalgama”s burning (to recover the gold). The airbomne transport of mercury was deduced by the observation of a vertical variation of the Hg concentrations in the soils. The possibility of higher antropogenic changes on the pH and Eh conditions in the waters of the district gorges, the mechanical remobilization of the sediments with high heavy metal concentrations and the airborne transport of mercury justify a continuous monitoring of the concentrations of heavy metals in solution in the waters for domestic use at the municipalities of Ginebra and Guacarí and the suspension sediments within it. These analysis must be accompanied by technical directions for the use of mercury and recovering of gold, for the miners of the district, minimizing the environmental agressions.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Economia global e vivência local na Amazônia: mineração e campesinato em São Pedro, município de Juruti - PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013) CASTRO, Isabela Andrade de; NAHUM, João Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9009465125001273In this thesis we present a survey of the interference suffered by the community São Pedro in Juruti, west of Pará state, since the beginning of the installation of the mining activity in the town. At the beginning of the 21st. century installing Juruti project by ALCOA, triggered a series of local and regional transformations that linked the rise to global mining economy. Our analysis focuses on rural areas, especially the processes experienced by the community São Pedro, who received from the licensing of mining projects for rural development, for example Pajiroba the project, the project of raising chickens and FUNBIO funded the extraction 's project EMATER. Featuring the form of implementation of these projects are designed to analyze how development policies for rural areas in Brazil, which has always meant the peasantry as a synonym for delay, a living space to be developed through investments in agricultural projects. This strategy which, according to our research, ignores the specificity of the peasantry in the Amazon, thus tending to limitations that go beyond agriculture, because confronting a complex way of life that has diversified to continue to exist.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A indústria mineral do estado do Pará: inserção no mercado mundial e repercussões regionais(Universidade Estadual de Campinas, 1993-02-05) ENRÍQUEZ, Maria Amélia Rodrigues da Silva; MARTINS, Luiz Augusto Milani; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1580912945557137The world's mineral industry and market have undergone great changes in the last two decades, which have brought deep concems to the mineral exporting regions. The Pará State, in the northem part of Brazil, became an important mineral producer in the 80's with high leveI of participation of mineral commodities in its exportation and growing mineral reveneus, expressed in terms of GDP and fiscal taxo This work analyses the participation of Pará State's mineral exports in the world market; the related social, economic and environmental impact of the industry; and the (in)adeqacy of the industry to the fulfilment of regional expectation of development.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Influência da atividade garimpeira na dinâmica urbana das cidades amazônicas: o caso de Itaituba/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-11-29) SCHUBER, Eliana Souza Machado; ROCHA, Gilberto de Miranda; MORAES, Sérgio Cardoso de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4568311568729454This research aims to analyze the influence of mining activity on the formation of urban space of the city of Itaituba/PA, which has a strategic location on the wealthy Tapajós Gold Province. It is considered that the mining activity in this region is specific and structured differently than traditional extraction (latex) from installation manual mines to the insertion of large machines, which currently occurs in the mines. Part of the hypothesis is that the oscillations of this activity intertwined with government interventionist actions dictated the pace of urban dynamics Itaituba. It begins with a comprehensive analysis of the process of urbanization of the Amazon, involving the exploitation of natural resources, particularly minerals and exploitation of gold. Then we develop a periodization of gold mining in the Tapajos Gold Province, from the 60s, establishing the main periods and sub-periods that influenced in some way in the urban dynamics of the city. Then we developed an overview of spatial and urban consequent repercussions mining activity in Itaituba. The research also considered the urban processes that are focusing on the city from the perspective of implementation of large energy and logistics (port) projects in the region.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Tecnologia ambiental na gestão de recursos naturais: o “voo” tecnológico da fiscalização mineral do estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-11-18) SAMPAIO FILHO, Inaldo de Sousa; FARIAS, André Luís Assunção de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5310171409459863The technology features of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) potentiate its civil use in several areas. Glimpsing the potential use in mineral inspection area of this technology, it was acquired by the federal competence agency in the granting and mineral inspection of Pará State. However, the availability and the fact to acquire such technology are not sufficient for success in their use. The success or failure is directly related to the way that this technology is managed. This research aimed to analyze the process of incorporating this technology as mineral inspection tool by the National Mineral Production Department of Pará State (DNPM-PA). For this purpose, used methodological approach based on technological innovation management processes of Nuchera, COTEC Foundation and Tidd and Bessant. About the research procedures, bibliographical and documentary surveys were conducted, interviews and application of free questionnaires for case study. The research development showed that, despite the potential of UAVs as mineral inspection tool, the technology is not getting incorporated strategically of Pará State. Stands out that the inspection is a fundamental part in the natural resources management, acting on the control and monitoring of environmental impacts from the mining activity, and that the spread of this technology will contribute to the strengthening of inspection activities in the state, since the insertion of UAVs is performed within the technological innovation management concepts.
