This work presents the development of two software solutions and an algorithm based on artificial neural networks to support the management of urban mobility in a smart campus. The first software, called Norte Rotas, is a web solution whose objective is to support the planning of pedestrian routes, providing relevant information about the physical conditions of the routes of a smart campus. The second solution is an Android mobile software that aims to manage transport modes present in a smart campus. Tests in simulated and real environments were carried out and the results indicate that the proposed tools are good solutions for the planning and management of modal routes in an intelligent university campus. In addition to the software, a computational intelligence algorithm is proposed to determine the best travel route considering the options on foot, by bus and by boat in an IoT system of a smart campus. Data were collected from UFPA's Circular bus routes, and tests with different parameters of an ANN were performed. The results show that the solution based on ANN is promising to be implanted in urban mobility aid systems in a smart campus.

This paper discusses the possibility of creating a specific tax for urban mobili ty in relation to its services and the demands produced by the Attractive Traffic Centers, places that attract concentration and interest of people and vehicles, which ends up interfering negatively in the fluidity of the locomotion of the citizen, goods a nd products. The growth of cities modifies the dynamics in the displacement of people, affecting those who live and transit nearby with the increase in the volume of traffic generated by the attraction, impacting on individual displacement and public trans port, requiring the need for intervention by public authorities. Deficient urban mobility worsens the quality of life of the population and brings financial losses, as the public budget is unable to meet demands not produced by the collectivity, but by spe cific private enterprise and often with economic purpose. Traffic engineering, transportation management, local traffic control and guidance, all these services are triggered by specific and identifiable demand, generating an expenditure that is often not programmed and not aimed at the general public interest. Thus, through the elaboration of a Regulatory Project, the result of a qualitative study, the possibility of taxation through the collection of specific fees instituted by municipal law arises, herei n called Urban Mobility Fees, aimed at collecting resources to address the problems faced and enhance solutions in favor of the local citizen. The project proposes the calculation of the state cost of mobility considered the public budget approved in the a nnual municipal budget law, the fleet of motor vehicles of the city and the existing and trafficable road network in the municipality, quantifying the amount to be paid by the taxpayer.

The study addresses the socio-environmental damages of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) work of Augusto Montenegro, Belém-PA, capable of affecting the economic, social and environmental development of the metropolis Belém. The research aims to expose a new look at socio-environmental damage, expand the debate on the impacts of large urban mobility projects and contribute to academia, public management and society. Given the above, the general objective of the research is to understand what are the socio-environmental damages of the Augusto Montenegro BRT and how they relate to the issue of urban mobility in the metropolis of Belém. The study involves an approach to political ecology under the eyes of Little, Muniz and Leff, and from this focus, the understanding of the concepts of socio-environmental damage in large urban projects and the importance of sustainability in these undertakings. To make the research viable, the methodological procedures were based on bibliographical and documental survey, direct observation technique for data collection and application of a semi- structured interview model applied to public authorities, group representatives and BRT users. From the results obtained, it was noticed that urban mobility in the RMB is precarious and that the BRT does not serve the large mass of public transport users. And finally, it was concluded that the BRT was not an urban mobility solution, as intended, for the city of Belém and its socio-environmental damages affected and still affect the population and the environment.

Personalized Route wselection methods in a urban computing scenario
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-02-22) BRITO, Matheus Moraes de; CERQUEIRA, Eduardo Coelho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1028151705135221; ROSÁRIO, Dênis Lima do; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8273198217435163
With population growth in urban areas, the more extensive city infrastructure faces several problems affecting the population’s health and quality of life. Urban mobility changes became intense since the worldwide technological revolution brought many tools and methods to prevent harmful tendencies regarding urban transportation. In this context, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions perform a ubiquitous way of sensing the population mobility and the local mobility context as criminality, accidents, and air quality near the road infrastructure, complementing the city mobility. Likewise, Location-based Social Networks (LBSN) dispose of users’ geolocated data, allowing the identification of mobility patterns, traffic flows, and alternative modal transport recommendations. In this matter, novel mobility solutions must attend city issues regarding public transportation, criminality, traffic influencing factors, and air quality compromising. Also, route selection methods must consider comfort features, making more pleasant urban trips. This mas ter’s dissertation proposes and evaluates two pollution-aware route selection approaches,a multi-modal hybrid routes method and a multi-criteria personalized route selection method, for urban citizens’ mobility flow improvement. The hybrid multi-modal solutionsurpasses the single-modal, offering less expensive and less polluted trip options. The multi-criteria solution personalized profiles outperform the single-criterion choice in the same context considering all calculated route possibilities
