(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) MORENO, Glaucia de Sousa; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531; GUERRA, Gutemberg Armando Diniz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4262726973211880
This dissertation examines how the actions taken by militants and participants of Palmares II Project Settlement, in Parauapebas-PA, contribute or not to consolidate a solidarity political practice in tune with MST ideals, since the camp through settlement phases. Data were collected between January and August 2010 through structured questionnaire used to interview leaders and settlers from the settlement into focus. The main work category is the collective action. It presents evidence that favored the formation and consolidation of the MST in Brazil, and later in Pará. Discusses the theoretical and empirical aspects of collective action in the movement, followed by a brief history of the development of the settlement, demonstrates and describes the collective actions that occurred during this period, brings into discussion contributions of America in Chicago school and from the Italian philosopher Antonio Gramsci. Describes collective efforts in the settlement occurred between 1996 and 2010, demonstrates how they developed, what goals and failures that marked this period, using the Olson, Mckean and Ostrom contributions to substantiate the discussion. Notes similarities and differences between the settlers projects and leaders of the movement, showing that some settlers had their projects "failed" due to the impositions of power play settlers / leadership. Points, in the research year, the collective initiatives that occurred in the settlement, which are assemblies and occupations, in order to resolve issues demanded by the necessity of settlement infrastructure and water supply improvement. Finally it states that it must think about the collective actions inside a project that aims farmers emancipation from a logic that works rooted in respect, first of all centered in settlers goals and needs, ie confined not in ideal models (averse to reality), but substantiated in the democratic conduct that strengthens the priorities settlers choice possibility. So first of all it should hear the agrarian reform actors, the landless or settlers, and not only allow the supposed leadership’s interests be taken into consider.

Estudo sobre a organização da produção em área de assentamento no Sudeste do Pará
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2004-10-22) MONTEIRO, Dion Márcio Carvaló; HURTIENNE, Thomas Peter; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7133222063843073
This paper was developed in a rural workers site in the town of Parauapebas/PA, and it aimed: (01) identify, at the Palmares site, the main problems caused by the application of an agro-industrial economic reproduction model, what is weird in the southeast of the state of Pará (imported from the south of the country); (02) check some outcomes, mainly economic, but also the social ones that were caused by the current structure of the existing production organization in that site; and finally, (03) analyze the presumed conflict that there is between the collective production model, proposed by the MST*, and the individualized economic one, preferred by the rural workers. It was identified that the main obstacles in the attempt of forced insertion of an economic model that did not seem to contemplate the infrastructure and technological differences between these two regions occurred due to the lack of administrative and technical knowledge of most of the workers as well as their chiefs. Regarding the main obtained economic outcomes, it was verified that the main produced cultures were: rice, corn and cassava (being the latter commercialized in natura or in the form of flour), which are common in the region. As far as the collective and individualized production is concerned, it was noted that the structure of organization and management of the workers needs to be better developed so that this collective economic model really succeeds. The research considered a group of 517 families which were officially registered by the National Institute of Colonization and Agro Reform, where 105 family chiefs were interviewed and as a way to guarantee the research representativity. One at least or three families at the most were interviewed in each production nucleus. 38 going on nucleus were identified, which amount was found after counting before the association and nucleus coordinators, a questionnaire was applied to all these local heads. One of the outcomes of the research was: more than 95% of the families that were annexed to one of the production nucleus work in an individualized way and that almost 50% of the nucleus heads informed that there is very little cooperation among their directed structure components. The research also indicates that it is still necessary to advance in the investigations presented here, mainly in the definition and in the building of economic models that are able to accommodate individual productive activities as well as collective or cooperative ones in the country.

Different authors agree that Brazilian farmers are in too many difficulties related to environments and social problems and to also happens because so many times these farmers do not have the rights informations for the right development of their activities. These difficulties are responsable for the destruction of the natural resources at the taken areas. Searching for a special and single education the Movement of the Landers Farmers (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem-Terra (MST)) made an investment in a Course of Education for Agrarian Reform Teachers named Land Education (CPT) applied for Federal University of Pará (UFPA) during the period of February from 2001 to May 2005 with a partnership of National Colonization Institute and Agrarian Reform (INCRA) and National Program of Education in Agrarian Reform (PRONERA). This Paper has the following aims: (1) study principles that support the Land Education Course through referential documents; (2) watch the perception of the students (teachers) regarding to the educational proposal of the course and (3) characterize the praxis of the graduated student (teachers) in Environmental Education. The study explains the qualitative research in an investigative approach-the narrative. In beginning was done a documental research that helped in a formulation of a semi-structured interview droven to five students (teachers) from CPT, therefore it was visited two settlements in one camping. For the systematization and analysis the subject was literally transcribed in order to identify important topics as well as conveniences and contradictions trying to establish categories of analyses. In order to go deeper in this focus, it was used a technique of data triangulation and theories as one more way of interpretation of the colleted informations. This way, it is concluded that the proposal of the Course in spite of some difficulties was well accepted for the students (teachers) and it was a positive concept as a reflection and a better quality of life through the social inclusion and respecting the country’s Education and its variety or its diversity. As for Environment Education of that students (teachers) who made this Course it is clear that we have important items to considered as: (1) Environment Education is one of the ways of mentality changing (2) Environment Education is one of the sources of control the human’s intervention in the environmental. It is believed that this study has contributed for many different Course as the Land Education (CPT) and it was an important tool to increase the knowledge about environmental Education based on the characteristics found on the settlements and camping of Pará.

A infância pelo olhar das crianças do MST: ser criança, culturas infantis e educação
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-10-27) MORAES, Elisangela Marques; ALVES, Laura Maria Silva Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6009592378453661
Researches on children in Brazil have pointed toward a new way of looking at childhood, bringing the child as a legitimate actor and not just a subject of investigation. Children to live in a context of a social movement like the MST have in your life the marks of the struggle for land and agrarian reform, which influence their ways of being. Look for the child of the MST is to see it as a being who participates in the ―organicidade‖ (forums of deliberation) of MST. Therefore, children create spaces of organization and mobilization. In this sense, I question: What are the senses and the meanings of childhood in the speeches of the children in the settlement ―Mártires de Abril‖ of the MST? The survey was conducted in ―Mártires de Abril‖ settlement MST, located in Mosqueiro, a district of the city of Belém. To collect the survey data, I used workshops and group interviews with the children of the settlement. In all 23 children participated in workshops, these workshops had as objective to approach me the children and create a climate of confidence for interviews. The interviews involved 13 children aged between 06 and 11 years, called by the collective movement as the ―Sem Terrinhas‖ (Landless children). The interview was divided into four sessions. The reports of the interviews were transcribed and organized into seven thematic categories. As a benchmark analysis I support the notion of sense and meaning that are expressed through language and are related to the formation of the self in a socio-historical perspective, based on Bakhtin. The survey results shows the different looks that Children of the settlement ―Mártires de Abril‖ have on childhood: they see childhood as a time of play and be children in the MST is experiencing a playful experience of participating in a movement that struggle for rights of the excluded. Children of the settlement talks about their space structural: about the domestic space, they tell us the relationship with the adults in your family is built with great care, but also with the contradiction of authoritarianism; in respect to the space structural of production, the work takes another dimension in space of the settlement, as a time of learning and participation in community life; and in respect to the space of citizenship, school is far from being a place where the right to play is respected. The children’s cultures are produced by children from the settlement in their peer relationships through play, which emphasizes space is important for the enrichment of play culture, whether on the beaches, the creeks and trees. The children of the settlement still tell us that television influenced their lives, their schedules and their way of life to act. Finalized the text indicating the characteristics that make playing the way through which children can act on the world and effectively exercise their right to participation.

This research has a general intention of understanding the collective health social practices made in the "Assentamento Mártires De Abril" (AMA) settlement. It is a qualitative study, which comprehends the hermeneutics-dialectic data that was focused on Mosqueiro Island, metropolitan area of Belém Pará. Five social citizens had spontaneous participation in the research. The collective health social practices in AMA settlement are based and dependent on historical aspects of life, on the "Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais sem Terra-MST" fight (a landless laborers movement), on the health/illness conception and its relation with the land. It was concluded that its action expresses a form of care, essentially influenced by the natural ways, proposing to the Nursing care a new model of attention to the health. According to the studies, a period of training, based on experience with and in the social movements, is suggested as pedagogical practice to the Nursing Course of the "Universidade do Estado do Pará" (UEPA) university.
