Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A adoção de práticas agroecológicas por camponeses: estudo de caso no oeste maranhense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-24) SÁNCHEZ COUTO, Xoán Carlos; ALVES, Lívia de Freitas Navegantes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1337509239539346Agroecology has been defined as a science, a social movement and a set of alternative practices. Here we examine the last two dimensions. In order to study the social organization of Brazilian agroecology we used the political process theory, finding evidence that the Brazilian agroecological movement meets the requirements of this theoretical proposal for being considered as a social movement. In a second paper we focus on the problems surrounding technologies’ adoption by peasants in Western Maranhão. From a systems approach of the farm and through the construction of a typology of the production systems found in this region, we analyze the difficulties related to the adoption of agroecology, seen as a technical change from exogenous origin. Thus, we conducted participant observation, participatory rural appraisal and semi-structured interviews in 38 peasant families in three rural communities. We also explored the opportunity of integration between agroecology and the dynamics of transformation of production systems, as an endogenous innovation process. In the third paper we apply the concepts of strategy and tactics to peasants’ decision making about adoption of agroecological practices. Focusing on those who have chosen the farm diversification strategy, we find a variety of diversification strategies and that criteria used for strategic decision making are different from those applied for tactical decisions. In a fourth paper we try to understand the motivations of family farmers in Western Maranhão to make their productive and technological choices, understanding the historical decisive factors for the differentiation of production systems, which caused only some of them had the opportunity to join the agroecological practices. Through retrospective analysis, we identified two transformation vectors, contributing to family farmers deem different answers to the same influences from the environment. External variables, attached to productive family decisions, influence the historical path of the farms. We found that not always the promotion of agroecology is consistent with peasant families’ logic. However, effective technical support and permanent interest groups about this innovation, perform an environment in which peasants feel more confident to adopt agroecological practices.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A Bolívia na integração contemporânea da América do Sul: inter-relações entre os movimentos indígenas de terras baixas, a IIrsa e o conflito do Tipnis(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-04) MELO, Marta Cerqueira; ROSA, Aruanã Emiliano Martins PinheiroItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) O campo tem cor?: presença/ausência do negro no currículo da educação do campo no Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-10-05) MAGALHÃES, Leila de Lima; HAGE, Salomão Antonio Mufarrej; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1723722364556016The main focus of this paper is to investigate about the presence/absence of the Negro in the syllabus of Education in the Countryside on the scope of the Forum Paraense of Education in the Countryside, an expression of Paraense Movement for an Education in the Countryside. This collective action, represented by the Xingu Alive Forever Movement (MXVPS, in portuguese), a coalition of organizations that embody the Belo Monte hydroelectric your ultimate symbol of opposition, seeks understanding and recognition of your speech through the appropriation of communication tools, particularly internet and its technological apparatus, and media culture (KELLNER, 200l), with all its icons of power and formatting of cultures and identities in contemporary times. The appropriation process undertaken by MXVPS does not happen fortuitously, but has a methodology, an action to recognize the "adversaries", appropriate them and make them, strategically, through the mediation of culture and identity, turn into something else, in other ways, now useful to counter-hegemonic struggle for recognition. The MXVPS engenders its action by: 1) the history of the groups that make up the collective, a history of human rights violations and silencing; 2) the representations and meanings of their identities, especially in the national and international stage, and 3) the perception of the political groups around for the results of action. This research findings point to the existence of a paradigmatic trajectory of communication in the Amazon in response to a major development project, with specific methodologies guided by discursive acts and identity. They are strategies that are intended, by means of Theory of Communicative Action (HABERMAS, 1987), aimed at mutual understanding, make valid claims and speeches, leading to recognition and, potentially, to meet their demands . This initiative was undertaken by means of communicative acts, still has the potential structuring of public space, the prospect of a fight (protagonist) to insert them (not as historically marginal group, but as a emancipated actor of their desires and intentions) in the contentious area of policy-making, focusing on social and political changes (and, potentially, normative) that affecting their territories, identities and modes of symbolic and material reproduction.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Das águas do rio, as mulheres em movimento na defesa do Xingu: a resistência contra a construção da hidrelétrica de Belo Monte em Altamira - Oeste do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-06) PAIVA, Angela Maria Trindade; CANCELA, Cristina Donza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8393402118322730; SILVEIRA, Flávio Leonel Abreu da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1972975269922101The complex issues surrounding the conflicts in the construction of hydroelectric dam involving, on the one hand, the Brazilian Electric Sector, and on the other, segments of society such as indigenous peoples, “traditional populations”, riverside living, fishermen and also the populations of urban areas, among others, have been recurrent in the last few decades. To some extent, we can indicate that such conflicts arise from different and contradictory ways in which these segments of society see, experience and use the nature and their environment. The education of rural people was marked by assistancialism and by the denial of cultural, social and environmental diversity, while historically, strategies of resistance were built to face this reality of exclusion. In the 1980s, 1990s and the beginning of the 21st century there were articulations of different social movements and popular organizations in the struggles for education. As a result, legislation was approved to include Field Education in the agenda of Brazilian public policy. However, the effectiveness of this policy depends on the mobilization of the collective subjects of the field in each state or municipality. This study analyzed the construction of the Field Education History in the Amazon from the experiences of participation of collective subjects of the field in dialogue with the socio-cultural diversity of the rural peoples and from the territorialities of territories of water, lands and forests, in the period of 1980 to 2015. The investigative path based on a dialogical perspective and historical perspective, with the use of oral sources, through thematic oral history methodology and documentary sources, which were collected from February to October 2016, and in May 2017. We used data triangulation, which allowed the analysis of these through the dialogue between oral sources, documentary sources and the theoretical perspective. The construction of the Field Education History in the Amazon is articulated with the trajectory of social movements and popular organizations of the 1980s and 1990s, such as the MEB/AM, the Ribeirinho do Amazonas Movement, GRANAV and NEPE/UFAM, which acted in the area of popular education and problematized the reality of the education of the rural people and the questions concerning the territories of water, lands and forests; problems that are also highlighted by other collective subjects of the beginning of the 21st century. Influenced by the historical context of extensive mobilizations and debates around the Field Education at the national level, different collective subjects from Amazonas such as: INCRA/PRONERA/AM, UFAM, UEA, IFAM, CPT/AM, FETAGRI/AM, Boa Vista do Ramos and SEMED/Manaus, mobilize for the Field Education in Amazonas, demonstrating that this Education is under construction, in debate, in movement. And as a result of this construction, we defend the thesis that the History of Field Education in the Amazon dialogues with the territorialities of water, lands and forests, and with the diversity of the world of work, articulated to the protagonism of collective subjects of the field that has been deepening the debate on Field Education in the Amazon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) El campesinado de la Amazonia colombiana: una historia de menosprecio institucional, constitución identitaria y lucha por el reconocimiento(2009-12) RUIZ, Henry SalgadoTo understand the construction processes of the identity and organizational experiences of the peasants who currently inhabit the Colombian western Amazon region, it is necessary to know the historical characteristics that defi ned the social occupation of this geographical area. As in other colonization processes which took place in the Peruvian, Bolivian and Ecuadorian Amazon, in Colombia the peasants who occupied the Amazonian space in the fifties and sixty arrived after being expelled by the reproduction and expansion of the capital. But, unlike these countries, in Colombia, during these same years, the State undertook a military persecution against those peasants who had resisted the land expropriation process. In this sense, and seeking to comprehend the identity construction process of these peasants, this article will present a brief historical reconstruction of their first organizational efforts and a description of how they undertook their identification process as a social group. Finally, the article will analyze the mechanisms of resistance that Colombian Amazon peasants have created and consolidated in their struggles for recognition and their struggles against injustice and institutional disrespect experienced by decades.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Escolas-família agrícola e agroextrativista do estado do Amapá: práticas e significados(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-03-21) NASCIMENTO, Ana Lídia Cardoso do; SIMONIAN, Ligia Terezinha Lopes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6620574987436911This dissertation has how central aim the analysis of Agroextrativist family School (EFA) in its historic and politic trajectory while initiative of local rural social movement.
