Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A guerra das águas: concepções e práticas de planejamento e gestão urbana na orla fluvial de Belém (PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005) AMARAL, Márcio Douglas Brito; TRINDADE JÚNIOR, Saint-Clair Cordeiro da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1762041788112837This dissertation discuss the conceptions and the practices of the urban planning and management in Belém fluvial edge, using as empiric reference of analysis the interventions realized in it by the Governement of the State of Pará Complexo Estação das Docas and Núcleo Histórico Feliz Luzitânia and by the Municipal City Hall of Belém Complexo Ver-o-Peso and Projeto Ver-o-Rio. Starting from the developed analysis it could be reached the following conclusions: 1) In the urban interventions developed in Belém edge are present two perspectives of urban planning and management: the strategic management of cities, adopted by the Government of the State, and the participative management, using by the Belém City Hall; 2) The existent conflicts in the theorical-methodological plan among the two conceptions of urban planning and management and it manifesting in the landscapes and spaces for them produced. In Estação das Docas and Feliz Luzitânia, find the making of a space marked by the sumptuosness, by the luxury and discriminating. In Ver-o-Peso and Ver-o-Rio, on the other hand, find to rescue spaces marked by the regionalism, the riverside identity and to the use for the social groups excluded historically; 3) Those urban interventions realized in the edge have been promoting the production of a new image and a new landscape for the Belém City, the Waterfront. It is the production of spaces of urban renewal that rescue the river and the waters as symbolic representation of amazon identity.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cidade vista através do porto: múltiplas identidades urbanas e imagem da cidade na orla fluvial de Belém (PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006) SILVA, Marcos Alexandre Pimentel da; CAMPELO, Marilu Marcia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8338592541775616This dissertation focuses the constrution/mark of multiples urban identities in the context of Belém city in state of Pará, considering the different trajectories realized trough of Porto da Palha, localized in the south portion of the fluvial riverside of that city. Considered the urban identity as a continuous process in that are multiples experiences belong to urbe, beside the marcation of a material and symbolic difference in the production of a specific image of city. The Porto da Palha made a expressive locus for multiples identities construtions and a space belong to is possible looking a “marginal” image of Belém. Are enphasized the territorials and communities aspects of this process, because the same occurs in advers situation wich a colection of networks directed of the suplly of a local consuption territorializing in the Port. Besides, the interations and changes of experiences developeled between the diferents social groups as fairors, residents of port, “quilombolas” and “ribeirinhos” group producting in this space a form of survival community. That territorials and communities ties and of that materials and simbolics pratices seted with the river and are realized according in this urban route defined for this social groups, to come out another image of city, a ribeirinha city on the fringes.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo geofísico sobre a erosão fluvial do Rio Guamá na orla da Universidade Federal do Pará, Belém (PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-09-27) DIAS, Gustavo Nogueira; SILVA, Lúcia Maria da Costa e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8612431024609774The present work is a geophysical study of a riverbank exposed to erosion and it aims to evaluate its use for detecting areas degraded by critical erosion stage before they collapse. The studied area is situated 600m alongside Guamá River – between Tucunduba River Bridge and Canoeing Pier at Federal University of Pará. The area has different kinds of erosion contentions along its way such as cement walls and cement bags. Therefore the place is considered a laboratory to test geophysics expertise in detecting areas affected by imperceptible process so that it can act before they erode. The following four geophysical methods were used: spontaneous potential –SP; electroresistivity; Slingram – LIN and ground penetration radar – GPR. The measures were taken during both low and high tides in order to map the preferable subsuperficial paths the water runs through. In general, tides increase oscillations in SP measures, electroresistivity and LIN as well as increase the reflections intensity from GPR compared to low tide measures and during high tide, measures show compared to low tide: I) In erosion affected area there is a voltage decrease in SP, a resistivity decrease in electroresistivity, a conductive increase in LIN as well as an intensity increase of the reflections and a continuity disturbance in GPR. II) In contained areas there is an increase of the SP voltage, an increase of the resistivity from electroresistivity, a decrease of the LIN conductivity and an ease in the reflections from the GPR and a reduction of tides global effects. Despite the difficulties, the results show Geophysics can be a useful tool not only on preventing affected areas from collapsing but also on analyzing the effectiveness of previous contention woks.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Gestão de orla urbana e turismo sustentável: reflexões e proposições a partir do projeto do complexo Ver-o-Rio em Belém (PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-09-02) COSTA, Márcia Josefa Bevone; VASCONCELLOS SOBRINHO, Mário; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7843288526039148The study aims to analyze how tourism contributes to the sustainable management of urban fringe, discussing the concepts and practices of urban planning and management in river shores of Belém (PA), having Ver – O – Rio Complex the empirical object research, place of tourism and leisure located on the edge of town. The analysis was based on a survey of guidelines and tools for urban planning and management of the interventions made by the mayor administration of Belem to the urban waterfront space. Besides the theme presented the conceptual framework also covers studies on tourism, analyzing its aspects as a social phenomenon, used in this debate as a tool that contributes both to sustainable management of the urban fringe and inclusion of local people involved in the process, the perspective of sustainable tourism, collecting data and reflecting more specifically on the social actors involved in Ver-O-Rio complex since its opening, such as traders that work in the vicinity, people who have licensees to work in the kiosks and street vendors who work there. The method was a case study working through the type of approach qualitative to analyze the type of historical-descriptive. The study shows that tourism contributes to sustainable management of the spaces in urban fringes as it promotes socioeconomic mobility, employment generation and income and the participation of local people in the process.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) (Sobre)vivências ribeirinhas na orla fluvial de Marabá-Pará: agentes, processos e espacialidades urbanas(2012-06) NUNES, Débora Aquino; TRINDADE JÚNIOR, Saint-Clair Cordeiro daThis work is an approach of the cityriver relationship in the Amazon through a case study, the riverside of Marabá city (Southeast of Pará). The main objective is to analyze the importance of riverine living spaces in that city and their relationship to urban policies materialized at the local level. Through bibliographic, documental and field search (record life histories, semi-structured interviews and systematic observation), it was possible to find that riverine living spaces within Marabá city coexist with the new trends of riverside appropriation. This reality is often neglected by the action and intervention of public power which turn to the ordering of this space that have a strong relationship of the citizens with the water element.
