    This study aims to analyze the resources and advantages of using modeling and computer simulation in industrial manufacturing processes as a tool to support the decision making. Thus, a case study was made at a motorcycle company located in Manaus’ Industrial Center, in which they used the software Tecnomatix® Plant Simulation. Initially, it was developed a simulation project, based on the industrial manufacture of a productive process of the variable support, an important item on the motorcycles production. This manufacture is known for its high complexity, due to the risks during its productive process. This dissertation also presents concepts related to the production management and the importance of decision making as well as the main definitions of modeling and computer simulation, with emphasis on Plant Simulation platform. Some other advantageous applications of using the modeling and computer simulation as tools have been identified, as we wrote this dissertation. However, we would rather make a restriction and just demonstrate the optimization of a manual productive process. After analyzing the simulation’s results, in multiple virtually modeled scenarios, taking into consideration the risk and productivity parameters, as well as having a systemic understanding of the situation, we considered the best option to organize would be the automated productive scenarios whose layouts allow greater interaction, flexibility, productivity and lower risk - providing the maximization of the desired results. Finally, from the analysis of the achieved results, as well as the relevant conclusions, it is easier to see clearly the advantages and resources of applying computer simulation as a support tool on the decision making in industrial manufacture processes.

    Análise da produção de lodo de esgoto e da capacidade de disposição do aterro sanitário do Aurá na região metropolitana de Belém para os próximos 20 anos

    Belém Metropolitan Region has few and incomplete informations about production and destination of sewage sludge, because just little part of the sludge generated in septic tank and collective Sewage Works is throwed away without control in Aurá Sanitary Landfill. Because of this, is usual to throw the sludge in water bodies and in the ground, worsen the problems of pollution/contamination in the urban areas. Therefore, this work has the objective of analyzing the increase of production of sludge and evaluate the impact in the Aurá Sanitary Landfill. The search was developed in Belém Metropolitan Region, composed by Belém, Ananindeua, Benevides, Marituba and Santa Bárbara do Pará. It was divided in 2 stages. In the first stage it was estimated the production of the sludge (brute and drained) of septic tanks and in the collective Sewage Works during 2009 to 2030, and the second one was the availability of an area to disposal in the Aurá Sanitary Landfill. In the period studied, it was verified that by the way of the increase of the content of sludge drainage doesn’t has too many impact in the content of the residence solid waste, the deficiency of the available areas in the Aurá Sanitary Landfill is a problem that has to be solved as soon as possible, otherwise residence solid waste and sewage sludge produced in Belém Metopolitan Region won’t be well disposal, as a matter of fact that the prevision is the fast implicate of the free content of Aurá Sanitary Landfill.

    The work view the quantitative offer of wood logs in Amazôna and through theoretical basis on natural resources and extractive activities if a few considerations about the exauribilidade of this well over the years 2000. The method was the quantitative and qualitative, of to see the evolution of that product by simple exploitation and harmful to the environment, although there are environmental laws and how these try to curb harmful soil and simple exploration in the Amazon. The result showed that, in fact, the production of wood logs is descending and significant throughout the region,however, there are new methods of reforestation and funding, in addition to the supervision by the IBAMA to curb illegal extractions, although these persist.

    The Surface Mounting Technology (SMT) industries have overcome many challenges over the past few years with regard to their position in relation to environmental issues and cost reduction. New standards for the control and elimination of substances considered harmful to the environment have been edited, causing several industrial sectors to review projects and specifications in order to adapt to these new standards. One of the concerns lies in the fact that the welding procedures for electronic components incorporate lead, which poses risks to operators involved in the production processes, as well as a high value in the cost of solder paste. The most common alloy is lead free, it is a tin-based alloy, which replaces lead with 3.9% silver and 0.6% copper. The alloy is known as (SAC) Sn3,9Ag0,6Cu. The material is applied to the process used in the manufacture of about 70% of the computer boards currently produced. For processes that use higher temperatures, there are two other alloys: Sn0.7Cu, a tin alloy with 0.7% copper, and SN3.5Ag, which has 3.5% silver. The need to migrate welding processes to this new type of technology requires companies to adopt a strategy of change appropriate to the maintenance of current processes and their gradual replacement by lead-free welding processes and their implications for costs. The main objective of this dissertation is to present the development of the solder process in local paste in order to reduce production costs, maintaining the quality and reliability of thex product, especially the main plates of televisions. This study, in addition to presenting a bibliographic review involving the SMT process, will explore the concepts about the types of solder pastes so that the reader can have a better understanding of what will be proposed as well as, the description of the case study in a factory in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). The results show that the local industry seeks in a planned and consistent way to process innovations and process cost reduction. The cost reduction mainly includes the reduction in the cost of raw material, the main competitive advantage of Chinese companies, usually 30% cheaper than that of competitors (despite the inferior quality). It is concluded that it is possible to evidence the significant reduction in the costs of solder paste in the process of surface assembly technology (SMT) with its manufacture made locally.
