This work discusses the importance of invisible production in the composition of total income of small farmers at the agricultural frontier in the Amazon, marked strongly by agrarian conflicts, as is the case of southeast Pará State. The data used in this study were obtained from field research undertaken with 78 small farmers of the Praialta and Piranheira Agroextractivist Settlement Project, Nova Ipixuna municipality, Pará, in 2001. The general objective of this work was to know in what form the invisible production contributes to composition of family income and to the reproduction strategy of small farm agriculture in the southeast of Pará State. The choice of farmers interviewed was intentional, so that it enabled the identification of agricultural income, as well as in the characterization of the production systems developed by these small farmers. This procedure allowed the elaboration of a typology of the production systems starting from some social, economic and agronomic indicators. The results of this research proved a strong participation of invisible production in the group of the activities of the family agriculture. Products with defined markets, have a part of the production retained for family consumption, non-markets products are directed exclusively to own consumption and, an important component, refers to the sale of family labour, essential in their survival strategy. An immediate conclusion is that the agricultural and extractive production is very superior to that being estimated or unknown in the official statistics. Knowledge of the participation of invisible production becomes important for the policymakers, first due to the under estimation of official statistical data, as much for the amount as for the non-inclusion of various products, produced or collected, in family agriculture, on or off the property. This way, it can be verified that the small farmers of the Praialta and Piranheira Agroextractivist Settlement Project possess an equivalent total income to 1,48 minimum wage/ month. It is interesting to highlight that the contribution of invisible production to family income reaches 0,28 minimum wage/month that represents 18,77%, of the total estimated income. The drainage of the autonomous non-agricultural income, from government welfare pensions, represents 10,55% of the farmers' monetary income, constituting an important factor of the local communities' sustainability. It is expected that these results are important to define public policies to increase the sustainability of frontier family agriculture estimated as more than 600 thousand family units in the Amazon, responsible for the largest portion of the chronic deforestation and burning.

In this thesis, it is approached the processes of change and diversification of the peasants productive systems located in a part of the Territory of Manaus and surroundings. The objective of the research is the understanding of the processes of economic and technological change in course in these productive systems. The boarding of the subject is carried through a multi-disciplinary analytical structure to involving concept of the evolutionary economic theory, of the theory of the endogenous development, the economic anthropology and the theory of the peasant investment. The joined results disclose that the studied productive systems are diversified in relation to the territories where they occur. This diversification elapses in the way as the peasant producers adapt their productive systems modifying the labor routines that constitute them in function of the injunctions proceeding from the complex institutional environment and of the dynamics of the ecosystems. These adaptations are guided by the sociocultural characteristics inherent to the peasant families and motivated by the search of the reproductive efficiency. To the end, the data of the field research are processed through the Factorial Analysis, disclosing differentiations of trajectories of similar productive systems in distinct territories, as well as clusters that locate the peasant producers between situations of integration to the market and subsistence subsidized for social and social security benefits. These results evidence the complexity of the socioeconomia peasant and its diverse strategies of adaptive innovation.

Evolução das disparidades da extração vegetal e da silvicultura na Amazônia Legal: uma aplicação da cadeia de Markov
(2012-09) SANTOS, Ricardo Bruno Nascimento dos; BRAGA, Marcelo José
This paper analyzes the convergence of the municipalities vegetable productivity in the Legal Amazon region between 1996 and 2006. The convergence analyses use the Markov transition matrix methodology (First Order Stationary Markov Process). The results show that existence of 13 classes of vegetable productivity convergence. In the long run, the hypothesis of absolute convergence is not maintained, whereas 68.23% of the municipalities are in a class lower than the municipal average, 33.54% in an intermediate class above average and 13.41% in a class higher than average.

Os Fundamentos agrários do desenvolvimento da Região Tocantina
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005) ROCHA, Enéas Nunes; COSTA, Francisco de Assis; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1820238947667908
The agrarian foundations of the development of the Tocantina Region are related to the form of occupation of the soil and as the regional several productive structures of the agrarian are articulated. The strategy of official economic intervention in the Tocantina Region privileged the great enterprises agroindustriais through financial and monetary incentives, generating, besides all, serious environmental problems, agrarian conflicts and desregionalization of the property of the money. The base of these productive structures is the property landowner, the salaried work of low qualification and the homogeneous production. The process of characterized development, then, for the exploration of the natural resources and for the monoculture, was not take in considerated other important aspects of the local development, the formation of human and social goods of the area and consequently they were not capable to improve the conditions of life of the population. As alternative to the concentrated and excludent model, are the rural structures, that using small units of land, family work, diversified production and capacity dealing with the natural resources in order not it to drive the lackness, they act in such a way that its efficiency is determined by the capacity of work of each family, its intern rationality defines, then, a way of performance, with high productivity in the Tocantina Region, being able to contribute with the employment growth and income, as well as with the development.

Relações econômica e climática na produção agrícola no leste do Pará.
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-06-28) BAUTISTA LÉVANO, Diego Alonso; ROCHA, Edson José Paulino da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2313369423727020
The present research related the average yields or productivity of the eight main crops located in municipalities in the east of Para. In the economic relation, it was worked with the dependent variable Gross agricultural value added (VAB.AGR) and the climatic relation was performed with the variables precipitation and temperature during 2002-2016. The selection of the eight crops was according to their percentage representation in the quantities produced during the study period. For this reason, the crops were divided into permanent (CP: banana, coconut palm, palm, and orange) and temporary (CT: sugar cane, cassava, corn, and soybean). The secondary data of the VAB.AGR, quantities produced (QP), average yields (Rm) or productivity and values of municipalities production were compiled in the portal of the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) and Produção Agrícola Mensal (PAM). Regarding the complexity of the climatic variables, the information of the Climate Prediction Center MORPHing technique (CMORPH) for the precipitations and the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) for the temperature data were researched and collected. The methodologies used were the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) to know the level of association between the variables having as a dependent variable the GVA.AGR, as well as the Pearson Coefficient to know the degree of relationship between climatic variables and the QP and Rm. Finally, from the results obtained we can believe that the eight selected crops, at least one type of crop, is significant with the economic, and climatic development.

Trabalho familiar ou assalariamento? Dilema de jovens em comunidades rurais
(2013-06) ALVES, Ketiane dos Santos; MOTA, Dalva Maria da
The objective of this work was to analyze working strategies used by young people in the agricultural production with strong natural limitations in northeastern Pará. A case study was carried out in 2010 in the community of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, in the municipality of Mãe do Rio. The main results show that the slash-and-burn based model of natural exploitation in areas of 25ha has caused great problems associated with the depletion of natural resources. Thus, the work strategies, especially among the young people are being rearranged. They now seek wage-earning activities as an alternative to obtain incomes faster and to develop their autonomy projects. This new reality has promoted changes in manpower demand and hiring in their units of origin and an overload of work for the people who remain in the family work.
