Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Compressão tempo-custo paramétrica ótima de projetos de construção civil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-08-30) BENTES, Jayme; ICHIHARA, Jorge de Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5726366418302065One of the issues of the Civil Construction Industry is around the planning phase of the the project, when is possible to verify the difficulty in completing the project in time, initially, thinking as the contractor. Therefore, the present study proposes the application of the linear programming method as a solution to the problem of the optimization of the factors time and costs from the Civil Construction projects. Initially it was done, by bibliographic mapping, also as the re-reading of some basic concepts, programming Technics with network and critical path. Afterword, it was discussed definitions of operational research and mathematical models of Linear Programming. It was proposed, therefore, a method aiming the solution of the issue of the time optimization and projects expenses of Civil Construction. To demonstrate the application of the proposed method, it was used as a scenario, a governmental construction project, that the goal was the compression of the project in 14 days, reaching a period of contract, a cost of compression the amount of R$ 95,040.15 (ninety five thousand forty dollars and fifteen cents), less than if there were an increase in penalty for delay. With this achieved our objective, compression project for the desired duration.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Construção fragmentada: uma análise gerencial dos processos construtivos do complexo de prédios do Instituto de Educação Matemática e Científica (IEMCI) da UFPA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-01-22) BORDALO, Rosa Helena Coutinho; LIMA, Adalberto da Cruz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7803369097132222In recent years the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), among other important precautions, has invested significantly in the restructuring and expansion of its campi, the construction of new buildings, expansion and renovation of the existing ones. As in most IFES, however, the UFPA has no structure or enough time for the responsible technical crew to manage and develop constructive project execution, monitor and supervise the construction works and maintenance. The objective of this study is to make a management analyze of the construction processes at the UFPA, on the basis of the complex of buildings of the Institute of Mathematics and Science Education (IEMCI), aiming the identification and minimization of the problems presented along its flow. To do so, through a case study of the administrative procedures and other documents related to the construction of the various modules that make up the Institute, with the data collection of all the performed works, and conducting interviews, based on the Campos's model (2011), to everyone involved in the process. After analyzing the results, the conclusion was that a lack of planning and effective management of constructive processes produced several problems, among them, incomplete and flawed projects, leading to fragmented construction. The construction executed through stages cost 35.19% more than if it was performed in one step and in its entirety. And as the term, this increase was even greater, reaching 283%. Concluding that the interveners caused by fragmentation, seriously influenced on the deadline and the final cost of the construction.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo de viabilidade econômica da implantação de leito de secagem para tratamento de efluentes sanitários gerados em uma mineradora no estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-12-28) FERREIRA, Cleyton Eduardo Costa; MENDONÇA, Neyson Martins; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7534816053779593Waste management is one of the main challenges of modern society, especially when it comes to finding more sustainable and economical alternatives for the treatment and disposal of these materials. In this context, biosolids, a byproduct generated from wastewater treatment, have been identified as a possible source of nutrients and organic matter for agriculture and other sectors, thus contributing to a more circular economy. Biosolids contain a large amount of nutrients that can be used to improve soil quality and increase agricultural productivity (OLIVEIRA et al., 2018). In addition, the use of biosolids as fertilizer can reduce the need for chemical inputs, contributing to the reduction of the environmental impact associated with final disposal (RIBEIRO et al., 2015). This study was conducted in a mining company in the state of Pará, Brazil, which has eight decentralized anaerobic wastewater treatment plants. The study aimed to define the treatment route for biosolids, as well as to evaluate the economic viability of implementing a drying bed for the production of biosolids to be applied in the restoration of degraded areas. It was found that 11,776 kg of total suspended solids (TSS) per year of sludge are generated, resulting in the design of a drying bed with three cells, each with 22 m², an operation cycle of 25 days, and a Surface Application Rate of 13.30 Kg TSS/m²xdia. For sanitization, CaO was chosen. The implementation cost of the drying bed was R$ 100,358.70, operational costs were R$ 2,059.62/month, and the solution via incineration was R$ 18,415.80/month. Based on the simple and discounted payback, the investment returns in approximately 7.14 and 7.19 months, respectively, and is part of the synergistic costs with the current sanitation management. The other indicators point to the investment as viable and capable of financial surplus. Therefore, the company will have financial and environmental gains with the implementation of the project.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Projeto e fabricação de extrusora monorrosca com matriz de extrusão filamentar(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-10-25) RODRIGUES, Rodimilson Coelho; EL BANNA, Wassim Raja; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2005046563115507; HTTPS://ORCID.ORG/0000-0001-5085-4352; NASCIMENTO, Walber Alexandre do; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8022410578951099; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2699-3982Large industrial establishments are always looking for increasingly sophisticated technologies to monitor manufacturing processes. This work aims to design and build a laboratory single-screw extruder and its extrusion die for processing polymers and polymer composites, in addition to enabling studies in the area of mechanical recycling of polymers. The first stage of the work involved choosing the type of extruder to be manufactured. The second stage consisted of dimensioning and designing the equipment using Solidworks software. In the third stage, the types of materials and mechanical and electrical components for assembling the extruder were selected. In the fourth stage, the manufacturing processes of the extruder and assembly of the mechanical and electrical components were carried out. In the fifth stage, the equipment was validated, where temperature and mass flow tests were performed, in addition to mechanical and electrical tests in the processing of a thermoplastic polymer, which, in this case, was polypropylene (PP). The last stage consisted of simulating a die with a cylindrical profile, aiming to study the characteristics of the polymer melt flow and define how the die structure should be adjusted to obtain the desired diameter. After designing the die in Solidworks software, a simulation was performed in Ansys software. In this case, the rheological behavior of the melt as it passed through the die was studied through the simulation, analyzing in which part of it the high and/or low shear rates are observed when the polymer flows through it. The drag flow and pressure flow were then extracted from the simulation parameters, which led to the calculation of the operating point and operating pressure for the die. It was also possible to calculate the mass flow rate and the velocity drop at the die wall, in addition to optimizing the die profile for the circular shape and desired diameter.
