Ensino de artrópodes utilizando realidade aumentada
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-08-23) SILVA, Fabiano Reis da; PINHEIRO, Jackson Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5628921304262824
This paper describes a validation study of an educational product configured in an Augmented Reality application, hereby denominated “AR3D”, which combines three-dimensional virtual images of 60 (sixty) specimens of animals belonging to the Arthropoda phylum, together with the real world. This application may be used as a pedagogical resource, assisting science and/or biology teachers and students alike. The methodology chosen for this work involved two stages: the first stage consisted in building and structuring the AR3D application inside an integrated development environment (IDE) known as Unity 3D, with the intent of giving the application compatibility with camera-equipped mobile devices which run the Android operating system. The second stage consisted in the validation proper; said validation was conducted by a panel of experts, composed by five teacher trainers from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), who belong to a post-graduate studies program dedicated to the training of science and biology teachers, as well as training in specific biology branches. An online form was made available to those teachers, as a means of data collecting. After all empirical data was gathered, an analysis was made, based on the following criteria: technical, user reaction and manual. The positives evidenced inside those criteria were: performance efficiency, reliability, safety, manual, motivation, user experience and knowledge. The sole criterium to receive a negative evaluation was usability: this was due to a low score concerning the adaptability of the tool to handicapped people. As the application’s positives outweigh the negatives, it is concluded that said application can be a tool with pedagogical potential to contribute with science and biology teaching, specifically in what concerns to studies involving arthropods.

MVC-RA: múltiplas visões coordenadas em ambientes de realidade aumentada
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-08-20) CARMO, Ricardo Melo Casseb do; MEIGUINS, Bianchi Serique; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3032638002357978
It aims to apply the characteristics of an augmented reality environment such as easy and intuitive interaction and large visualization space to the implementation, interaction and visualization of multiple coordinated data views. Multiple data views provide the user a better data analysis on different aspects. The coordination among multiple views reduces the cognitive overload for the user. The augmented environment was based on ARToolKit. The interaction is based on a interface with markers. The adopted visualization technique was the 3D scatterplot together with a variety of filter and view configuration options. Finally, some preliminary usability essays for the developed prototype are presented.

Poéticas do espaço aumentado: as possibilidades estéticas e políticas do uso da realidade aumentada
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-06-02) OLIVEIRA NETO, Raymundo Firmino de; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522
Along with technological transformations of the XXI century, there are emerging devices that give a new dynamic to the man-machine-image relation, as well as to the perception of space and reality. Augmented Reality is one of those devices, which the relations of power, knowledge and subjectivity production are not yet fully comprehended in everyday life and in the field of media art. This research aims to comprehend the use of the device in artistic productions and its aesthetics and political possibilities from the case study of the international group Manifest.AR, besides other artists that have used augmented reality in their works. Assuming that these productions carry an investee against the logic of the device in relation to the field of art and lifetime. For this, Augmented Reality is approached as a dispositive, concept adapted from Michel Foucault, and associated with other art forms and media to discuss its specificity. The aesthetic and political discussion was proposed based on Lev Manovich’s concept of augmented space and Flusser’s concept of black box, as well as relational aesthetics of Nicolas Bourrioud and aesthetic communication of Mario Costa. The research showed that although Augmented Reality can be described as a medium with its own specificity and poetic possibilities, it is early to declare today that the artworks made with it constitutes a new form of art, instead, it augments previous forms of site interventions and installation, in which boundaries are broken and recreated between the public and the private, the digital space and physical space, real and virtual, body and media, art and politics in a cybrid and augmented space.

Realidade aumentada e o cálculo de medida de área no ensino superior
(Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, 2021-04) BRAGA, Kayla Rocha; NUNES, José Messildo Viana
This paper presents a proposal for the use of Augmented Reality technology while using the teaching of area measurement as a reference. The intervention was undertaken in an undergraduate class of the Electrical Engineering course at the Federal University of Maranhão. The theoretical foundation was based on the Instrumental Approach, which permitted an analysis regarding the use of Augmented Reality technology as a teaching tool in higher education. The research was structured in twostages: the instrumentalization, which took place in two steps, the first one related to the use of Augmented Reality, while the second step involved installing a software to develop Augmented Reality; and the second, instrumentation, with the resolution of tasks, without and with the use of Augmented Reality, followed by an interview with the participants. The data obtained during the research enabled us to identify the transition from artifact to instrument with the use of Augmented Reality technology, as well as to verify that when the floor plan was being projected in 3D, students changed their ideas regarding the need to consider the thickness in the calculations undertaken, thereby starting to establish a better relationship with the notion ofarea and area measurement.

Realidade aumentada no auxílio da terapia de exposição: uma visão clínica
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-03-08) RODRIGUES, Jocenildo Abreu; FÜLBER, Heleno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5018616409948511; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7327-9960
Fear of animals and insects is a widespread condition that affects thousands of people around the world. The disease can be so severe that it interferes considerably with a person's daily life. This study aimed to examine the limitations and perspectives of clinical experts on the application of augmented reality (AR) in the treatment of phobias. The methodology used was action research, involving cooperation and participation between researchers and participants, enabling the analysis and resolution of problems in the clinical context. Information was collected through semi-structured interviews with therapists focused on specific phobias. Thematic analysis of the data revealed main and secondary themes, addressing clinical needs, software requirements, and feasibility of implementing AR in the treatment of phobias. Based on the identified requirements, augmented reality scenarios were created and the FobiAR mobile application was developed. The findings demonstrated that AR may be a promising alternative to conventional exposure therapy, offering a more immersive and controlled environment to patients. The FobiAR application received validation from the interviewed professionals, indicating potential for clinical application.
