(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) LÓPEZ ARBOLEDA, Beatriz Helena; BARROS, Flávio Bezerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4706140805254262
The Reserch about ethnoconservation of native seeds was worked in comunities indigenous tribe of the Ticuna of Amazonian Triple Frontier of Brazil, Colombia and Peru. The situation of Triple Frontier area caused changes to the Ticuna people since the times of colonization, and soon after the exploitation of rubber. The changes were found in their housing areas and in their traditional practices. The permanence of Ticuna people in the border situation until today, demonstrates the relationship with their surroundings, that due to their ancestral knowledge has allowed them their handling and use. But the growth of the population of indigenous communities and its proximity to the urban centers endangered their ways of living. The indigenous communities of the Umariaçu II in Brazil, of Gamboa in Peru and of San Sebastian de los Lagos in Colombia, considered as the study locations, provided an understanding of the ways of ethnoconservation seeds by the experiences of their daily lives, which showed their imaginary perspectives around the seeds. The contact with both, community residents and their local and regional environment, allows us to understand their close relationship with nature, represented in their traditional practices. This contributes to conservation and preservation of seeds. For this work the seeds are approached from the residents´ perspective through time and space, being framed in seed storage practices, craft practices and fishing beyond the meanings of seeds in their stories as in their rituals. Due to the complexity of the territory it takes a systemic approach by identifying networks in relation of the seeds that enables a local, regional and global understanding.

Gestão ambiental em assentamentos agroextrativistas: potencialidades e limites - O caso do PAE Ilha do Mutum, Marajó - Pará, Amazônia
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-05-17) PUREZA, Enil do Socorro de Sousa; VASCONCELLOS SOBRINHO, Mário; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7843288526039148
The objective of the research was to investigate how potentialities and limits for environmental management in agroextractivist settlements in the Brazilian Amazon. In particular, it aimed to understand how environmental management has been implemented in Agroextractive Settlement Projects in remote areas and historically marked by the low access to the public policies directed to the traditional populations. The central question for the conservation of natural resources and the preservation of the local culture? Specifically, the Agro-Extractive Settlement Project Ilha do Mutum was chosen. The choice is given by two specific aspects: first, because it was located in a very remote area and that it reached its constitution, it had little access to public policies, especially land regularization and environmental management. Second, because it is a PAE organized in legal offices to obtain resources, which is done through the Association of Producers and Fishermen of the Settlement Boa Esperança Ilha Mutum and last but not least, for assuming the precepts and concerns Environmental management. The theoretical framework of the research was delineated under as literatures of environmental management, conservation of the natural resources and preservation of the local culture. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was developed, developed under the single case study method (Yin, 1990). For the design of the context of the creation of the settlement and the incorporation of the environmental management, the research was based on aspects of the historical-descriptive method. Having as units of analysis the productive process, the maintenance and / or recovery of the forest resources for socioeconomic reproduction and the social organization for the sustainable development of the settlement. For data capture, the methods of documentary analysis, participant observation and semi-structured interviews were used. The results indicate that Environmental Management was implemented in the PAE Ilha do Mutum through the government and the community, and the management tools used by them are: status, plan of use and general assemblies. They also show that with the implementation of the PAE began the management of Natural Resources focused on the production and marketing of products, generating income and quality of life. Finally, it was observed that there is the preservation of culture, but at the same time the settlement is connected to the world, conserving its space and preserving its cultural identities.

Three years after the enactment of the new Brazilian Forest Code, the horizon, as to its real contribution is not yet well defined. Main instrument that embodies the public policy of conservation of private forests and grounded in the principles of sustainable development, the new Code includes a series of controversies to be clarified and overcome challenges. The meaning of this law exceeds the present time, showing historical connections with conflicting social forms of appropriation of natural resources and the constant struggle of groups with power to weaken environmental standards. Such a context motivated this work we aimed to examine the practical experience of internalization of the new Code through the case study of the municipality of Paragominas (PA), explaining how the relaxation of provisions and the creation of the new instruments of the Forest Code repercussions the local environmental management, which, in turn, policies are transformed into concrete actions. Despite the analysis of the implementation process of a public policy instrument does not cover the final results, it serves as a procedural evaluation, allowing monitor and understand how its impacts are built. To analyze the actions, interactions and contradictions of the new Code, the work has its foundations in biology approaches Conservation and Ecology Policy in line; the observation and reflection of actions, processes and tools, conducted by local environmental management intersection with the new Code; and the application of interviews with managers and municipal leaders. As for the results, are registered in the following pages, the intricacies of a new scenario, in which the implementation of the new Code proves challenging and largely solitary for municipalities; but still, can yield some progress in control and environmental planning, due to the new instruments. However, there appeared a "new" full of contradictions for the conservation of forest resources and impregnated unsustainable struggle for expansion of private ownership of natural resources, where there are subtle dynamics, but intense in the ability to promote environmental change.
