Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estratégia de redução de consumo de energia em redes de sensores sem fio heterogêneas utilizando lógica fuzzy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-10-26) MACIEL, Christiano do Carmo de Oliveira; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122The increase in wireless communication and microelectronic devices enables the development of micro sensors with monitoring capable for large areas. Consisting of thousands of sensor nodes, working collaboratively, the Wireless sensor networks have severe energy constraints, due to the limited capacity of batteries of the nodes that compose the network. The power consumption can be minimized by allowing only a few special nodes, called Cluster Head, are responsible for receiving data from its cluster nodes that form and propagate this data to a collection point called Base Station. The choice of optimum cluster head influence on increasing the period of stability of the network, maximizing their useful life. The proposal, presented in this thesis, uses Fuzzy Logic and k-means algorithm based on centralized information on Base Station for election of ideal Cluster Head for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensors Networks. The criteria used to select the ideal Cluster Head are based on the node centrality, energy level and proximity to the Base Station. This dissertation presents the disadvantages when the local information are used to the cluster leader election and the importance of discriminatory treatment on the energy discrepancies in the network. This proposal is compared with the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) and Distributed energy-efficient clustering (DEEC) algorithms. This comparison is evaluated using the end of the stability period and the lifetime of the network.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Modelagem Cross-Layer da qualidade de experiência para transmissões de vídeo em sistemas sem fio OFDM(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-02-28) CASTRO, Bruno Souza Lyra; CAVALCANTE, Gervásio Protásio dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2265948982068382This work presents a study about video transmission in wireless systems. The applied methodology aims to prove the existence of a direct relationship between BER and quality loss (PSNR loss) on video streams in OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division) systems. The results were obtained from simulations, developed in MatlabTM environment, and, measurements in real scenarios, held on university campus and inside the research laboratory in an controlled environment. From the comparison between simulated and measured data it was possible to prove the relationship between BER and PSNR loss, which led to the formulation of an empirical Cross-Layer Model with exponential characteristic. The modeling has obtained a RMS error and standard deviation close to 1.65 dB when compared to simulations. Moreover, its validation was performed from data obtained from real-world scenarios, which were not used to adjust the parameters of the proposed equation. This Cross-Layer model does not depend on the type of channel or coding in FEC (Forward Error Correction), allowing future integration with commercial or open-source network planning softwares.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Otimização de cobertura, consumo de energia, roteamento e agregação de dados em rede de sensores sem fio utilizando algoritmos genéticos e lógica fuzzy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-04) NUNES, Thiêgo Maciel; MONTEIRO, Dionne Cavalcante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4423219093583221; CERQUEIRA, Eduardo Coelho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1028151705135221The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) have limited capacities for processing, storage, communication (bandwidth) and power source, besides having features and basic requirements of a WSN such as: the need for self-organization, communication with diffusion of short-range and multihop routing. This work proposes a tool that optimizes the positioning and the packages delivered through the use of Genetic Algorithm (GA). To resolve the routing problem that improves power consumption and maximize data aggregation is proposed the use of fuzzy logic in the routing protocol Ad hoc Ondemand Distance Vector (AODV). This customization is entitled AODV - Fuzzy for Wireless Sensor Networks (AODV-FWSN). The results show that the proposed solution is efficient and can prolong the life of the WSN and improve the rate of data delivery when compared to similar solutions.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Projeto e implementação de um nodo sensor para aquisição de sinais de extensômetros em redes de sensores sem fio aplicado ao monitoramento de deformações em estruturas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-07-09) ATAÍDE, Rodrigo Williams Rodrigues; KLAUTAU JÚNIOR, Aldebaro Barreto da Rocha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1596629769697284This dissertation’s main objective is to propose a node wireless sensor for use in wireless sensor networks, in data strain gage acquisition systems. The acquisition system for the strain is based on the Wheatstone bridge and enables various settings. The processing and wireless communication is performed by ATmega128RFA1, composed of a microcontroller and a radio-frequency transceiver with the Zigbee standard. The node is designed to ensure reliability in data acquisition and be fully controlled remotely. Among the controllable parameters are: the signal gain and sampling rate. In addition, the node has resources to make the balance of the Wheatstone bridge automatically. The choice of components, based on criteria related to energy consumption and cost the same. It was designed a printed circuit board (PCB) for the node, and regarding it, estimates of energy consumption and value of the prototype were made, with the aim of analyzing its viability. Besides the design of the sensor node, the dissertation presents the proposal of its integration in a wireless sensor network (WSN), including the suggestion of complementary hardware and software developments. For testing, a node sensor was constructed experimentally and used a force transducer.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Roteamento multicamada baseado em eficiência energética e qualidade de enlace para redes de sensores sem fio(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-02-28) MACHADO, Kássio Leonardo da Silva; CERQUEIRA, Eduardo Coelho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1028151705135221Multilayer routing based on energy efficiency and link quality for wireless sensor networks This Thesis describes the development of a new routing protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) for energy restriction and scenarios with high density of nodes. Through the study of the main goals of data communication and the state of the art on the routing protocols and technologies for WSN, this proposal has the following requirements throughput, reliability on data delivery and energy-efficiency. The study presents in detail the AODV (Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector) protocol and its relevance in the context of WSN, due to the fact of its popularity among the devices. Additionally, it is presented the proposed extensions for AODV and their main drawbacks to provide the required goals. The REL (Routing by Link Energy and Quality) protocol is the result of this research and the proposed solution for on-demand routing protocol for plan architecture based on energy-efficiency and link quality, in order to provide scalability, load balancing and prolong the network lifetime. The REL protocol was evaluated by using simulation and tesbed experiments in order to show its impact and benefits in real and simulated scenarios. The results presents that REL increases the data delivery rate due to the use of reliable links with less probability of error. Additionally, it uses energy issues to select routes, which avoid the fast saturation of nodes and increase the network lifetime.
