Capital social, redes sociais e inovações produtivas
(2008) PONTE, Tereza Maria Ferreira Ximenes
Successful experiences in motivating local populations show the importance of organizing people and training them to develop innovative projects. It also reveals that communities in which people interact more frequently with each other and where social networks, on a whole, are well integrated, are more likely to overcome their limitations and to take advantage of their opportunities. This in return favors the development of strategies and collective tactics, increasing the power of choice and decision of the community members.

A ciberpublicidade e as interações em rede: estudo exploratório sobre práticas de consumo no Facebook
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-03-31) SOUSA, Thatianne Silva; MARQUES, Jane Aparecida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1197835678797660
This dissertation aims to study the interactions and practices of cultural and media consumption that are established in the space of social media on the internet, more specifically on Facebook, as from cyberpublicities. This is a theoretical and empirical research of an exploratory nature, using non-participant observation and content analysis to understand the relationship between social media on the Internet, interaction, cyberpublicity and consumption. It begins with the premise that, with digital technologies, there is a reconfiguration in the communication relations and in the cyberspace: the subjects acquire new roles, increasing their possibilities of speaking; There is a growing presence of brands; and the presentation of new advertising strategies - cyberpublicity - in an attempt to dialogue with this new subject - the cyber consumer. Four advertisements were selected, two of which are national and two are local (in Belém-PA), for the analysis of the subjects' interactions in the respective brands’ fan pages. These relational dynamics between subjects, brands and advertising are built from the interactions mediated by the computer, pointing to new practices of cultural and media consumption. According to the results analysis, different types of interactions were identified: those dealing with cyberpublicity; those that establish relationship with the advertiser; those that are characterized by interagent tagging; and symbolic reactive interactions. These different interactions reflect the functioning of social networks on the Internet when subjects interact with cyberpublicity and demonstrate that there is opportunity for brands to manifest and present their advertising content to cyberconsumers, regardless of the size of the company and the place of performance, as occurs with the local brands. Based on the analysis of these interactions in networks, stands out the importance and the challenge of this investigation, considering all interactors (humans and machines) and having cyberpublicity as mediator in this process.

Fatores envolvidos na natureza e administração de redes sociais de estudantes universitários
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-09-11) SILVA JUNIOR, Mauro Dias; BRITO, Regina Célia Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5576436464955236
This research aimed to investigate human’s interpersonal relationships. Specifically, we tried to replicate partially Stiller & Dunbar’s (2007) work, using the same instrument with another sample, though. The main objective was verify whether the social networks were according to Social Brain Hypothesis, on which human beings are capable of keeping and administrating an optimal number of interpersonal relationships, around 150 average. We found a mean of 52,53 social contacts, lower than the predict value, spending about 25% of their time with them. There were significant correlations among social network size, frequency of contact, time spent in contact, emotional closeness, and genetic relatedness, in the general social network, in relatives’ networks, and friends’ networks. Despite of long distant communications availability, respondents preferred make face-to-face contact with their social network members. We discussed the results from the perspective of four non mutual exclusive hypotheses. In the other hand, secondary hypothesis were confirmed about social network composition, and about interactions of social network size, frequency of contact, time spent in contact, and emotional closeness. We suggest additional studies to investigate other variables that may increase the comprehension of social networks, and the differences found.

Nowadays, the cyberspace social networks are regarded as a common phenomenon. It is easy to perceive that the Internet advent has expanded not only the Reading and Writing modalities, but also the interaction among its users – and this study leans exactly on it. Our proposition is to analyze the politeness phenomenon in the interaction among participants from seven discussions with topics related to University of Pará (UFPA), posted in the casual e-forums from “Belém” community, in the Orkut site. doing so, we are based especially in Goffman’s (1967) sociological approach, in the studies on interactive frames from Tannen and Wallat (2002 [1987]), in Gumperz’ (2002 [1982]) investigations on contextualization cues and on Kerbrat-Orecchioni’s (1992, 1997, 1998, 2006) studies about the interpersonal relations and politeness. About politeness, we present the seminal models of Brown and Levinson, regarding their references to Searle’s (1969) studies, about the speech acts, and to Grice’s (1975), about the Cooperation Principle, conversational maxims and implicatures. We also discussed the Leeche’s Model (1983), which refers to the General Principle of Politeness, from the author’s observations on Grice’s maxims. Still related to the studies on linguistic politeness, we present the notion of social contract, present on Fraser and Nolan’s (1981, apud OLIVEIRA, 2004) work and we highlight Kerbrat-Orecchioni’s (1997, 2006) extensive contribution to Brown and Levinson’s model, with the introduction of face flattering acts (or FFA) concept, dissociation of positive face and negative face from positive politeness and negative politeness respectively, introduction of the impoliteness phenomenon notion and the linguistic politeness procedures distinguished by the linguist. In our conclusion, we verified that the sense effects of negative politeness and positive impoliteness are those which prevail in the analyzed e-forums, especially when the users debate polemic issues, in the urgency, maybe, of supporting their standpoints with efficiency – seemingly either with mitigation (negative politeness), in order not to attack with aggressive arguments or without mitigation (positive impoliteness), with the intention of validating their opinion. The positive politeness and negative impoliteness did not appear so much in our data. This is an empiric-inductive investigation, which will favor the qualitative data analysis of linguistic-discursive realizations that occur in real situations of language use.

Movimento Xingu Vivo Para Sempre: ações, reivindicações e estratégias
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-01-10) MORGADO, Cauê Vieira; PONT VIDAL, Josep; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4415362518177732
This dissertation carries out an analysis on a social movement known as Movimento Xingu Vivo Para Sempre, observed from its actions and social actors that composed it. The methodology used is the case study and as methodology techniques to achieve our goal, we chose the semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The main analytical category are the social movements, which reviewed about the optics of the New Social Movements, from authors such as Gloria Gohn and IIse Scherer - Warren. Furthermore, we use some concepts, such as: networks of social movements and opportunity structure, the latter being developed by Tarrow. The main objective was to provide an analysis of the Movimento Xingu Vivo Para Sempre, from their actions, strategies and claims, having regard to the opportunity structure in which this process occurs. The specific objectives we had: A reflection on the dynamics of the social movement studied from its history, analysis of the movement's composition and its form of organization, analysis of the relationship between the movement and the various social segments affected by Belo Monte HPP; analysis of the relationship between the movement and the different political and state institutions. It became clear in our research that the Movimento Xingu Vivo Para Sempre is a network of social movements that has undergone various transformations, especially the rupture and departure of most member entities of the network in 2009.The historical institutional frailty of the region, which is reflected in the lack of public services, contributes to the legitimacy of the movement as a channel for denunciation and opposition. However, rather than present an alternative development project, the movement operates in a defensive manner against the construction of dams on the basin of the Xingu river and the Amazon as a whole, through another network calIed Aliança dos Rios Pan-amazônicos. We also note that the relationship with the different social groups affected is impaired by the criminalization waged against the movement, as well as the small number of militants that integrate it, since the changes occurred from 2009. Lastly, we analyze that, despite the head-on opposition to the executive, the movement has articulations in other state sectors, especially in the judiciary, with emphasis on the Public Defender's Office of Pará and the Public Prosecution Service.

The dissertation discusses the development of practices of sociability and a network of commitments among members of an art world (BECKER, 1982) made possible in popular song, as well as forms of cultural production and circulation of such goods in the city of Belém do Pará, Brazil, understanding it as a frontier area ( HANNERZ, 1997) in the eighties. For this, I turned to the musical scene category (STRAW, 1991) as an input for socio-cultural analysis of these occurrences. This is an anthropological study of a historical theme (FREHSE, 2005; SAHLINS, 1999) which is divided into three chapters. The first, entitled "An expanding city and its musical culture in process" presents a characterization of the transformations of the urban scenery of Belém do Pará in the early 1980s and the foundations of a scene of popular song. Thus, two key events are studied concerning for the formation of this music scene: the Feira Pixinguinha in Belem and Projeto Jayme Ovalle. The second chapter is named “The production of identity by song discursive practices of popular music artists in Belém in the 1980s”. The focus in it is the relationship of place with the making of the song and its meaning, the idea of a song as the object-value, the formation of the association of musicians called CLIMA and a study of some emblematic songs of the eighties scene. The third chapter, "Practices of sociability and ‘places of Popular Song’ in Belém do Pará eighties" studies social spaces of popular song as places where they produced and consumed to that cultural commodities and place to artists and audiences this musical mode in the city - such as bars, theaters, concert halls - in the characteristics of the urban environment. Also, it presents a view on the song festivals and recordings as cultural commodities as projeto (VELHO, 2008) for the category to the artists of music scene.

This research aims to analyze the communication issues in the Amazon. To do this, I try to understand the social uses that individuals do of different technologies involved in the process. And I also try to understand the power relations that are established at scene. For this exercise, I‟m using Jesús Martín-Barbero‟s (2004) theoretical and methodological aspects, which identifies the mapping like a more open and rigorous perspective of study. This aspects allows the researcher to experience the dynamics of the object. This experience was the key to grasping the reality that must be experienced to finally be understood. In analyzing this contemporary setting, I also seek support in the work of Henry Jenkins (2012) to understand that culture is changing and the different information and communication technologies (ICTs) are organizing to provide individuals an experience unlike interaction society. However, one thing must keep in mind that not all participate in the same manner. Here, Michell Foucault (1996, 2008) help to understand the analytical issues of power in society, how manifest disputes in small stocks and how individuals perform small forms of domination. From these questions we can say that Amazon has a multifaceted context, where the differences are inscribed in each part of its territory. Afua is an example of the complexity that exists in the region. Located at the Marajo‟s archipelago, in the brasilian Amazon, the "Venice of Marajó" (as the city is called by its residents) has its streets, houses and high buildings on stilts that support the entire city on the rivers. In this particular place, the web became popular a few years ago by the signal of mobile phones and provided a new scenario of interaction among its residents. But their success is strongly linked to the importance that the radios have the articulation of social relations that community. So we can see how each form of use of ICTs is linked to experiences that take place in society. In this sense, thinking of communication in the Amazon is an exercise that requires looking at the communicative nature of social events (FRANÇA, 2001). These developments reflect specific contexts, that particularize the place where they happen. It is these contexts that enable the particular practices of appropriation and the different uses of social media. They make the experience of individuals a unique and singular event and that allow us to understand the extent of the communication process that goes beyond simple social interaction.

(2010-12) SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; LIMA, Leandro Cavalcante; BUCHER- MALUSCHKE, Julia Sursis Nobre Ferro
This study describes the social network of two couples from a bordering community (Araraiana River, Municipality Ponta de Pedras, Marajó Island/Pará). Data were collected through a socio demographic inventory, a routine inventory and a field diary and analyzed by a network map. It was observed that the relation of the couples is based on economic and work alliances, company for leisure or religious activity. It has also been found that these relationships are marked by gender patterns which delimit the environments of daily activities, define the status that each one holds in the family and condition the formation of bonds in social networks.
