Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Manejo florestal comunitário em unidades de conservação na Amazônia: uma avaliação de impactos na Resex Verde para Sempre - PA e na RDS Rio Negro - AM(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-06-02) MARIN, Tany Ingrid Sagredo; CAMPOS, Índio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9134366210754829The community forest management (CFM) for timber extraction is considered an important instrument to increase income and forestry sustainability among traditional local users who live in protected areas in the Amazon region. However, there is little evidence that this tool has brought social benefits to their users. The present research aims at identifying the social and economic impact of the introduction of two CFM programs: Projeto de Apoio ao Manejo Florestal Sustentável (ProManejo) at Verde para Sempre Extractive RESERVE and Programa Bolsa Florestal (PBF) at Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve. An effectiveness evaluation has been performed, considering the following dimensions: (i) objective, expressing the change of income and its composition between the ex-ante and expost periods; (ii) substantive, which measures changes in livelihood standards, such as housing, infrastructure and access to consumer goods; and (iii) subjective, which describes users’ perception regarding economic variables (income and monetary benefits), social factors (availability of social services) and environmental variables (deforestation decrease). The research can also be classified as a quasi-experiment utilizing three types of research strategies: bibliographic, documental and fieldwork. The latter included the application of a structured questionnaire through personal interviews with householders, which has enabled the researcher to know 53% of program users at Verde para Sempre Extractive RESERVE and 63% at Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve. The evidence shows that both initiatives brought mainly positive effects, particularly through income increase and deforestation decrease. Regarding livelihood standards and the overall program performance, the study indicates better results at Rio Negro, due to PBF’s participative approach and the continuity of program, which has no end date.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Políticas públicas e desenvolvimento nas RESEX Verde Para Sempre e Arióca Pruanã - PARÁ(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-07-14) COSTA, Adalberto Portilho; SIMONIAN, Ligia Terezinha Lopes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6620574987436911This thesis is the result of research activities carried out in the Extractive Reserves “Verde para Sempre” and “Arióca Pruanã” in the state of Pará, aiming to establish understanding of the consequences produced by the creation of two protected areas from socio-educational and environmental aspects. The research is an ethnographic one, based on qualitative interpretation. Comparative case study, literature surveys, field surveys and interviews were used in this research. Based on these procedures, it has been described the developments generated by the creation of extractive reserves with reference to the educational public policies already planned, as well as environmental laws. The research considered the changes wrought in the dynamics of socio-political, economic and environmental relations in the towns of Porto de Moz and Oeiras do Pará, and the ability of existing public policies in order to address the needs and perspectives of people living in and surrounding the protected area. The results showed the weakness in the implementation of public policies at both protected area, lack of evidence to establish the relationship between the life on the extractive reserves and the school curriculum, lack of formal and non-formal educational projects related to protected area in the Amazon scenario.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Tensões, uso e apropriação da terra no Xingu: o caso da RESEX “Verde para Sempre”, Porto de Moz/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011 - 06) GONÇALVES, Maria Raimunda Martins; EMMI, Marília Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4619867698790381The peasants' struggle for land in the Xingu at the turn of the twentieth century is the focus of this work. We will deal with forms of organization and struggle of the peasantry within the global/local dynamic that led to the creation of the extractive reserve "Verde para Sempre" in the municipality of Porto de Moz, state of Pará. It was in memory of social groups and through the research field that we seek the peasant perspective of development, and its actions and strategies to remain in their territories against the advancing of big business to the field from the 1960s in the Amazon.
