There are few studies dealing with the presence of stress and resilience on undergraduate students with disabilities and with specific functional disorders in higher education, which indicates the need for these two themes to be more studied and better understood in the university environment. The present study aimed to describe the sociodemographic and academic characteristics of 50 university students who participated in the study and correlate them with levels of stress and resilience. The instruments used were a semi-structured questionnaire and two scales: Perceived Stress Scale and Resilience Scale. The results were analyzed through descriptive statistics and the exploratory statistical technique. The results showed that students with high levels of stress have moderate and low levels of resilience. From this result, it was concluded the need to develop programs that aim at the maintenance of effective coping strategies in adverse situations within the academic context. It is expected that this study may contribute to the construction of institutional policies that favor the inclusion in fact of students with disabilities and with specific functional disorders at the Federal University of Pará and other higher education institutions.

This thesis analyzes the urban spatialities of resettled young people, affected by the compulsory displacement caused by the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant, in the Xingu Integration Region, Pará, Amazonia since 2011. This study reveals the complexity of the changes and challenges faced by young people and offers insights if other similar projects are planned for and in the region. Compulsory displacement has resulted in the severing of material and immaterial ties with their former territories, leading to the reconfiguration of spatial dynamics. In addition, these groups have been demonstrating resilience, constructing multiple identities and subjectivities and circumventing socio-spatial inequalities. Although the resettlements offer better physical facilities than the palafitas, socio-spatial segregation persists, and young people continue to face a nuance of these inequalities in their daily lives. This highlights the importance of considering not only the physical infrastructure of the housing context, but also the economic, social, political and cultural dimensions - when designing projects of this nature. A critical aspect is the need to consider the multiple temporalities involved in these processes, recognizing that each resettled person has a unique trajectory and experiences for and with the geographic space. This points to the importance of a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to analyzing the impacts of major projects in the region, with a focus on the well-being of local communities, especially young people who face real and significant challenges in (re)constructing their urban spatialities. The study reveals various aspects of youth in the Jatobá and Laranjeiras Collective Urban Resettlements (RUC), highlighting that creating new spatialities requires time, through the space that conditions youth relations, as well as socio-spatial relations that shape space, such as the rupture of the border between the RUC and the city's public spaces, from which new and old relationships are being (re)constructed, such as interactions with the job market, use of public spaces, recreational practices with the Xingu River, inclusion in social movements, insertion in criminalization, as well as the perpetuation of human rights violations.

This research aims to describe the professor’s perspective about family resilience of their student’s family. The data collect phase took place in a public school, located in the outskirts of Belém-Pará city. Eleven professors who teaches from the first to the fifth year participated answering a semi-structured interview and speaking their opinions in a group interview dynamic. The data categorization was made accordingly to Bardin [Análise de conteúdo (2011)] and through the software Nvivo 10 version. The results showed that teachers understand the familiar resilience elements but they underestimate those elements in the school’s family; tend to have a negative and pessimist perception about the success possibilities and resilience in those groups; have a stereotyped vision of family; a stigmatized perspective about poverty and about the social benefits those family have access.

Rapid population growth in urban environments is the root cause of many resilience challenges, where cities concentrate a large part of the population with social vulnerability and exposure to weather-related disturbances. Climate change is a global challenge, there is growing international concern about how to deal with climate change in urban areas. This Thesis aims to analyze the urban resilience of the city of Belém, Pará, Amazon region, Northern Brazil, based on a multidimensional tool, the City Resilience Index - CRF, generating results for the management of urban planning. A survey and content analysis was carried out, contemplating the concepts involved in the object of this research. Adaptation of the IRC through the application of the Delphi Method, with interviews with specialists focused on the subject. Application of IRC in the city of Belém-PA, with secondary data. As a result, the theoretical research problem was presented; Four Dimensions were obtained for the IRC, 'Health and Well-Being', 'Economy and Society', 'Infrastructure and Ecosystems', and 'Leadership and Strategy', with a total of 38 indicators, which allow assessing aspects of resilience of cities. The IRC was operationalized in an Excel spreadsheet and applied in the City of Belém-PA and generated the IRC in the “Good” value. In conclusion, four dimensions and 38 indicators were defined to generate the IRC, and in Belém-PA the IRC was considered “Moderate”, however, in fact, the challenges in working with the theme of urban resilience are still many, and go beyond the conceptual sphere. Although there is still no consensus on the part of specialists in the area regarding the definition of its real meaning, the biggest challenge lies in its operationalization. The process of building systems of resilience indicators is complex and has barriers such as, for example, the lack of data to build indicators to assess some relevant aspects. An example of such indicators, which can be included in future estimates for the city of Belém-PA, are those aimed at measuring infrastructure and ecosystems.
