Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos morfossintáticos e semânticos da causativização em Parkatêjê(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-02-27) FERREIRA, Sindy Rayane de Souza; SHIBATANI, Masayoshi; FERREIRA, Marília de Nazaré de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4291543797221091Under the view of typological functionalism, the objective of this work is to describe and analyze morphosyntactic and semantic aspects related to the phenomenon of causativization in Parkatêjê (Indigenous language of the Jê family, Macro-Jê stock, and grouped in the Timbira dialect complex). From the morphosyntactic perspective, the causativization is a process related to the increase of verbal valence, that is, to the change of functions and grammatical relations of the arguments of a verb. From the semantic perspective, it consists of a phenomenon associated with the relation of cause and effect, in which a causative verb allows the subject of a sentence to act on another argument, causing it to perform some action or change its state. In the Parkatêjê language, causativization is manifested through the verb to, whose primary meaning is 'to do' and which affects active and stative intransitive verbs. Transitive verbs do not seem to be affected by causativization. The work is based on the theoretical postulates of Givón (1975), Shibatani (1976, 2002), Comrie (1989), Dixon (1994), among others. In addition to being a causative verb, the 'to' element performs other morphosyntactic functions in the language: basic lexical verb 'to do', auxiliary verb, part of verbs root and instrumental postposition. For this reason, this work also presents some aspects related to each of these functions. The methodology used in this work consisted of bibliographical research and field research with data collection performed in the community of the language being studied.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudos comparativos do léxico da fauna e flora Aruák(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-08) BRANDÃO, Ana Paula Barros; FACUNDES, Sidney da SilvaApurinã, Piro and Iñapari, members of the Arawak linguistic family, are initially compared on the basis of the data used by Payne (1991) for the Arawak linguistic reconstruction, and of the phonological correspondences presented in Facundes (2000, 2002). Based on the evidence of subgrouping that emerges from this comparison, cognates pertinent to the semantic field of fauna and flora are established. The results are then used to examine three issues: what do lexical retentions say about the internal classification of these languages in the family? What cognates are likely to be reconstructable to an earlier stage in the evolution of these languages? And, finally, what inferences can be made about the past of these peoples on the basis of the reconstructable semantics of fauna and flora?Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Onomástica em ParkatêJê: um estudo morfossintático e semântico sobre os nomes próprios(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-02-23) LOPES, Tereza Tayná Coutinho; FERREIRA, Marília de Nazaré de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4291543797221091This work aims at introducing linguistic and cultural issues related to the onomastic system from Parkatêjê people, also known in specialized literature as Gavião do Pará. Currently, the referred people live in villages at the Indian reserve Mãe Maria (RIMM), in the surroundings of Marabá town. The Parkatêjê language, named as its own community, belongs to the Complexo Dialetal Timbira, Macro-jê stock and, such as it is common to the Timbira people, it displays elaborated systems of nomination. The study of the proper names from different typologies is the central interest of the discipline named Onomastic, being anthroponymy, in other words, the study of personal proper names, the field of Onomastics is the focus of this work. Initially, after some general considerations about the Parkatêjê people, this work carried out a review of the studies on onomastics based on the perspective of authors like Dick (1996; 1997; 1999; 2000; 2001), Lyons (1977), Ullmann (1964), Seabra (2006), Carvalhinhos (2007), among others. Then, it was introduced a general overview about the nomination system of Timbira languages, based mainly on Coelho de Souza (2002), Nimuendajú (1946), Melatti (1938), Arnaud (1964) e Carneiro de Cunha (1986). Therefore, it was exhibited several morphosyntactic and semantic aspects verified in proper names of the Parkatêjê language. In regard to the morphosyntactic characteristics the works from Araújo (1989), Ferreira (2003), Booij (2007) and Diniz (2010) they were the main theoretical subsidies, while in concern of the semantic issues it was utilized assumptions of the Cultural Semantics and Cognitive Semantics to undertake the analysis carried out which are unpublished in the present dissertation. The Methodology used throughout this work was made through bibliography research, moreover of ethnographic research with data assortment carried out on the languages‘ community in study.
