Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Variações do fonema /ʎ / no falar de quatro localidades do sudeste do Pará: uma descrição geo-sociolingüística(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-10-26) SALVADOR, Carlene Ferreira Nunes; RAZKY, Abdelhak; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8153913927369006This research has as main objective at studying the variation of palatal lateral sound in the speech of 04 (four) cities of the Para State: Curionópolis, Itupiranga, Dom Eliseu and Tucuruí. Since their foundation, these cities have been receiving migrants from several areas of the country. The heterogeneous constitution of the population provokes in these communities the emergence of linguistic variety that presents phonetics and grammatical features of several areas of the country. The sample of the community is made of 46 informants that are stratified socially. The methodological framework adopted is that of quantitative sociolinguistics and geography linguistics. Most of the linguistic phenomena presented here, specifically the phonetics ones are in variation. Most of them are produced in a systematic way happen, in a variable or systematic way practically in the whole national territory. The main external factor that can be responsible for the variation is the education level, which influences in the production of the phonetic phenomena. The VARBRUL statistic software was used to calculate the probabilities of the linguistics and social variables. The main results showed six varieties of /ʎ / phoneme.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) As vogais médias pretônicas nas capitais da região norte do Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) DIAS, Marcelo Pires; OLIVEIRA, Marilucia Barros de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9728768970430501This dissertation aims to describe the behavior of the middle unstressed vowels based on informants speech of six capitals of northern Brazil, namely: Belém (PA), Manaus (AM), Rio Branco (AC) , Macapa (AP), Porto Velho (RO) and Boa Vista (RR). The research is justified by the importance of describing the variety of Brazilian Portuguese spoken in the Brazilian Amazon and for contributing to linguistic description of the Brazilian Portuguese (BP). We used data from the phoneticphonological (QFF) and lexical-semantic questionnaires (QSL), instruments of data collection of the Linguistic Atlas of Brazil (ALiB). The data were transcribed with the use of Transcriber and then subjected to the use of the variable rule program VARBRUL which provided the relative weights useful for the analysis and variationist linguistic reflection. The groups of established factors for the description and linguistic analysis of the behavior of middle back unstressed vowels were the following: the nature of the stressed vowel, the distance between the stressed and unstressed vowel, the unstressed onset segment, the following syllable onset segment , gender, education , age and origin of the informant. Variants [i], [e] and [ɛ] were found to variable . To we found [u] [o] and [ɔ].The outcomes show [e] and [o] as the most frequent variants in the speech of northern Brazil.
