Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) 1978: letramento científico e consciência metacognitiva de grupos de professores em formação inicial e continuada: um estudo exploratório(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-04-15) GOMES, Ana Silvia Alves; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This study investigated the scientific literacy skills and metacognitive profile of basic education teachers and students of undergraduate courses, using two newly produced instruments: Test of Scientific Literacy Skills (TOSLS) and the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). Specifically they were investigated possible correlations between metacognitive skills and scientific literacy, checking and comparing different types of metacognitive skills and scientific literacy for current and future teachers, and evaluate the psychometric and possible improvements of the instruments qualities. The work is based on contemporary research on scientific literacy and metacognition, in particular, studies that aimed to investigate how these skills are developed by teachers of science and mathematics. The results obtained with the implementation of the instruments on a sample of twenty three undergraduate and twenty practicing teachers, indicate that 74% of the sample does not have an adequate level of scientific literacy, despite declaring that frequently use different metacognivas strategies study and plan lessons. Significant statistical correlations were also found between the scores of TOSLS and MAI, ie. metacognitive skills and scientific literacy skills were not correlated. It shows the rupture of key skills with lower rates of success, arguing about their possible causes and mitigation measures for identified problems and suggests future research possibilities using the instruments.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aprendizagem autônoma de línguas adicionais e formação docente em um centro de autoacesso no ensino superior(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-03-19) RABELO, Jhonatan Allan de Andrade; MAGNO E SILVA, Walkyria Alydia Grahl Passos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6129530461830312Self-access centers are spaces dedicated to the fostering of autonomy in language learning. They hold a variety of materials for self-directed learning (GARDNER; MILLER, 1999; COTTERAL; REINDERS, 2000; DOFS; HOBBS, 2011). At the Federal University of Pará, this space is the Base de Apoio à Aprendizagem Autônoma (BA³), which offers different forms of support to the undergratuation students of the School of Modern Foreign Languages since 2004. The positive effects that BA³ has had on students’ language learning can be found in publications of the field (MAGNO E SILVA. 2017; RABELO, MORHY, 2019). However, there is a noticeable gap which is the potential self-access centers can have on teacher education. The Applied Linguistics literature shows that Brazilian universities give little attention to the matter of autonomy in Teacher Education syllabi, even though it has been studied for over five decades. Educating teachers so they are able to foster autonomy demands practical experiences founded on a solid theoretical basis, especially when one considers the complex dynamic character of the autonomization process (PAIVA, 2006; LARSEN-FREEMAN; CAMERON; 2008). This reason justifies further debates on Teacher Education with a focus on learner autonomy and, consequently, the contributions that can emerge from the establishment of self-access centers in universities. Thus, this doctoral dissertation aims at comprehending the role of self-access centers on Teacher Education. The objectives include identifying how the work at BA³ may have benefited ten undergraduation students who worked there as teaching assistants or volunteers. Furthermore, it was attempted to verify how their perception on language teaching and learning was reframed based on the experiences they had while working there. Finally, participants’ competence on developing autonomous language learning activities was assessed, as well as the possible roles the researcher may have had while mediating this process. The theoretical references of this dissertation covered different themes, which constitute the mainframe of a theory on Teacher Education with focus on Learner Autonomy: motivation (USHIODA, 2008. DÖRNYEI, USHIODA, 2011), beliefs (BARCELOS, 2006), language learning strategies (OXFORD, 1990, SANTOS, 2011), and language assessment (ALVES, 2005; CUNHA, 2006). Concerning the methodological procedures, an ethnographic research was conducted at the autonomy and self-access study group, formed by the researcher and the participants. Research instruments included observations diaries, meetings recordings, and interviews. Results showed that self-access centers are spaces with great potential to Teacher Education, as they do not impose restrictions and give opportunities for pre-service teachers to experience autonomous environments, both as learners and teachers. In this process, the self-access center coordinator may act as an advisor for language teaching, bridging the gap between theory and practice and encouraging this practice by creating an atmosphere of experimentation and collaboration.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Correndo terra... Furando mundos... : as culturas na escrita de graduandos do PARFOR-Letras no Marajó(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-08-30) SILVA, Herodoto Ezequiel Fonseca da; FAIRCHILD, Thomas Massao; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1771292039081039This thesis aims to investigate how the academic, school and local cultures materialize in discourse in writings about the Portuguese Language teaching practices of PARFOR Portuguese students, in Marajó. The data analyzed are selected statements from experience diaries, teaching activities and internship reports. In this sense, we sought to discuss how the writing indicates the discursive movements through which one perceives the process of formation of the Portuguese Language teacher. In the first part of the thesis, besides the introductory chapter, researches already developed about the formation of the Portuguese Language teacher in the context of PARFOR are discussed. In the second part of the thesis, the theoretical and methodological framework of the research was developed. In this part, the nature of the research, the presentation of the place and the research subjects, the process of material collection, the constitution of the corpus and the data analysis protocol are presented. Some concepts of “culture” and the notion of “cultural hybridization” are discussed. As theoretical basis, the notions of "statement" and "dialogic relations" are approached from the studies of Foucault (2016), Bakhtin / Volochínov (2009) and Bakhtin (2011; 2013). Then we discuss the concept of “interdiscourse”, through the theoretical proposals of Pêcheux (1995), Courtine (1981) and Maingueneau (1997; 2005). Likewise, some mechanisms that function as “apparent forms of constitutive heterogeneity” are presented, which help to account for the linguistic materiality of the data, through the studies of Ducrot (1987) and Authier-Revuz (1990; 2004). The third part of the thesis is dedicated to the presentation of the analyzes and its results. The analyzes sought, firstly, to characterize the elements that inscribe the referred cultures in discourse and, later, to analyze the statement movements through which these cultures are articulated in the writings of the undergraduates. It was observed that there was a predominance of three types of dialogical relations among academic, school and local cultures: juxtaposition relations of cultural elements, relations based on the construction of culture simulacrum, and controversial relations between cultures. The academic and school cultures are in constant conflict of forces, yielding to controversial relations between them. The elements of local culture are, in most cases, managed by the individuals as objects of the processes of translation, silencing, and interdiction.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A educação na Região Norte: apontamentos iniciais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013) BENTO, Maria Aparecida da Silva; COELHO, Wilma de Nazaré Baía; COELHO, Mauro Cezar; FERNANDES, Daniela Martins PereiraThis paper discusses aspects of the education in the North region, in particular, in the State of Pará; offers a focus on cultural diversity, especially concern on the education of indigenous peoples, maroon and peasants’ communities. It analyses documents and projects of partner organizations of the “North of Knowledge” Program. We conclude that education in the North requires detailed analysis on its various dimensions. It should be noted that the processes articulated by civil society are collective good cheer, to guide the construction of a proposed collective democratic quality education that considers the territorial diversity and human, and overcoming inequalities.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ensino de conceitos elementares de estatística por meio de práticas investigativas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-11-25) MARTINS, Cleuma Gonçalves de Matos; MACHADO JÚNIOR, Arthur Gonçalves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3148593292236740; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9933-2894In this research, our objective was to investigate how the use of investigative practices can assist teachers, who teach elementary concepts of statistics in the early years of elementary school in public schools in the municipality of Uruará, in the southwestern region of Pará. Thus, the guiding question of the research is configured as being: In what terms can investigative practices assist teachers with the teaching of elementary concepts of statistics in the early years of elementary school? We adopted as its main theoretical support the bridge of ideas among others, to address issues relating to s practice s investigative n. The contents developed, through investigative practices, are related to the basic concepts of statistics. The research presented is qualitativ imprint the an approach of action research . With the information analysis methodology, we chose to analyze the narratives in the perspective of Ponte. The information collected during the development of the training process was organized through a questionnaire consisting of semi-structured interviews, audiovisual recordings, photographic records, and notes in our field diary. With regard to the results, it was possible to identify from the narratives of the subjects participating in the research, weaknesses in the domain of the object of statistical knowledge and evidence of practices that could enable the creation of an enriching and stimulating environment necessary for the learning of that object. We noticed that most of the participants pointed out the gaps in knowledge about the statistical teaching to issues related to its formation initial and continued, because according to their reports did not develop the learning skills needed to ensure a practical teaching of better quality returned to teaching statistics. During the shared formative process, participants indicate a movement to overcome this situation of ignorance of the content covered, as well as demonstrating appropriation of the methodology of investigative practices. The teachers participating in all stages of the training process thought, organized and developed tasks in their classrooms using strategies that enhanced the teaching of elementary concepts in statistics, and favored the students' learning. These teachers demonstrated that participating in training environments that awaken new ways of teaching-learning-evaluating is necessary to meet the demands of students in a society in constant change, in which the practice of investigating is healthy for the development of autonomy, reflection criticism and action. Therefore, we can say that the investigative practices presented and developed in our research, mobilized teachers and students around their learning.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Formação de professores: entre saberes e práticas – um estudo de caso(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-06) PRADO, Jalma Geise Maria Brabo do; FERREIRA, Andréa Tereza BritoThis article deals with the training of teachers and their relation to the practices and the teaching knowledge, based on studies of teacher training and daily life. It was sought to understand the docking process between knowledge derived from training processes and teaching practices having as its object the pedagogical practices and its relations with the knowledge related to teacher education. It was conducted a case study, making use of interviews and observation of practice and training process of a teacher of the literacy cycle and their study adviser, considering the formation of the National Pact for Literacy in the Age One - PNAIC Municipal network of Belém Teaching. It was realized that teachers, both as literacy trainers, have their unique way of "manufacture" their practicesItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) Narrativa, testemunho e memória do CCIUFPA: uma formação para identidade e profissionalidade docente(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-06-27) MAGNO, Cleide Maria Velasco; GONÇALVES, Terezinha Valim Oliver; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0496932429575513; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8285-3274With the purpose of writing a narrative about the Science Club of the Federal University of Pará (CCIUFPA) that is linked to the Institute of Mathematics and Scientific Education. Because it is a Club formally linked to teacher training programs and scientific initiation that transcends the physical space where it is located, experiences and learns from the most varied domains of knowledge throughout its history, it becomes a dense source of formative experiences for Brazil. In the North Region it was the first point of research to improve the teaching of Science and Mathematics. It is the space of reconnection between the teacherresearcher subject with the opportunity to do science with pleasure, sharing and passion. As a narrative researcher, I assume the place of witness to embrace a set of experiences that are the basis of the training carried out in this space. To this end, I sought in the authors JeanPhilippe Pierron, Martins Júnior, Edgar Morin, Jacques Le Goff, Diniz-Pereira, Antônio Nóvoa, Clandinin and Connelly, Gonçalves, Moraes and Galiazzi among others, the arguments to talk about testimony, narrative and memory that make history and science, as well as, in works produced about the CCIUFPA I sought clues for the construction of the present narrative. To compose the corpus of the research, in addition to documents, I counted on eight testimonies of teachers who made a training trajectory there, which were obtained by a Memory activator device (DAM). In the treatment and analysis of the information obtained I made use of the IRAMUTEQ software associated with Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA), listing emerging categories (Vortices I, II and III) from which it was made explicit that personal involvement, protagonism in learning, democratic environment and learning to do by doing, emerged as formative principles that were maintained over time, constituting a model of integral formation that enables the teacher to understand his identity and his practice in a dynamic that drives him to broaden his consciousness, his worldview and his practical and evaluative actions, elevating himself, the teachers, the CCIUFPA itself and the Brazilian Amazon. Such arguments make me defend the thesis that the systemic look based on testimonies registers, as a spiral, the evolutionary movement of formation, identity and teaching professionality undertaken at CCIUFPA, expressing formative principles of teachers to teach Sciences in contemporary times.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) RIO DA MATEMÁTICA: um jogo de tabuleiro para auxiliar na aprendizagem de conceitos matemáticos na formação do/a pedagogo/a na UFPA – Campus Altamira(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-07-03) VALE, Renan Rodrigues do; NASCIMENTO, Márcio Lima do; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6668311810812135The training of the pedagogue has been a permanent debate in academic research on different fronts, among them, on their training in mathematics considering that this professional works with the disciplines in the Early Years of Elementary School. The present dissertation had as general objective, to verify if the use of the game Rio da Matemática contributes to the formation of the Pedagogy Graduates and, consequently, feel more motivated to study and confident to teach Mathematics, and with specific objectives; a) to know the curricular components on the teaching of Mathematics present in the Pedagogy Degree course at UFPA; b) identify the difficulties of teaching-learning in Mathematics of Pedagogy Graduates and how they deal with these limitations; c) discuss the use of the game and playfulness in the teaching learning process of Mathematics; d) design an educational product that contributes to the teaching-learning process of Mathematics of Pedagogy Graduates; e) Use the Rio da Matemática game as a tool for the training of Pedagogy Graduates in the FTM discipline of Mathematics. About the research problem: how can the use of a board game contribute to the teaching of mathematical content in the training of Pedagogy graduates and in their didactic pedagogical practice in the early years of elementary school? Methodologically, a survey was made of the PPCs of the pedagogy course at UFPA on the offer of subjects related to the teaching of mathematics, regarding the construction of the educational product and the game, qualitative research was used, and through bibliographic and documentary research, and field research. It also includes the methodological steps for the construction of educational products, as instruments of data collection, an electronic form, pre-test matrices and product validation matrix with the students of the pedagogy course were used. It was concluded that students have certain gaps in the use of mathematical concepts in their daily lives, and a certain absence of teaching practices related to the use of games; while the FTM- of mathematics teaching students scored a possibility of a greater workload for the discipline. Regarding the analysis of the validation matrix, the product positively meets some dimensions and categories used for further analysis, with the exception of the transformation category, which the game does not make a contextual relationship between the content and pedagogy content. Thus, the Rio da Matemática game has the potential to be used and applied as a proposal for methodology and didactics in a playful way, enabling pedagogy graduates to learn and teach mathematics in a creative and motivating way.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Saberes e autonomia docente: um diálogo entre elementos imprescindíveis à formação do professor(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-12) CARMO, Nilce Pantoja do; ABREU, Waldir Ferreira deThe present work unfolds from the dissertation “A river on the way: schooling processes of riverside students in an urban school context”, presented in 2019 as an evaluation criterion for the title of Master in Education to the Graduate Program in Education (from the Institute of Educational Sciences of the Federal University of Pará). In the interim, “Teacher knowledge and autonomy: a dialogue between elements essential to teacher education”, is characterized as bibliographic research, which aims to understand the peculiar relations to knowledge and autonomy, discussing how this interaction has been constituted in the teacher training process. Therefore, we sought theoretical contribution in the works of Freire (1996), Contreras (2002), and Tardif (2014), authors who focused on the apprehension and approach of such categories (knowledge and autonomy) linked to the formative context of those who are responsible for the formal educational practice of the subjects. The results of the study show that the constitution of autonomy is directly associated with the improvement of knowledge. Thus, teacher education must consider the relevance of knowledge as fundamental to the promotion of teacher autonomy.
