    This study deals with the actor-network theory and stresses the concept of centres of calculation which is seen as an operator capable of showing the role that a library plays in the cyberspace. This concept uses the Janus' paradox to recover the history of the libraries by linking their past, present and future through the operations that put them in motion. The idea of cyberspace is discussed according to the assumptions of Pierre Lévy putting in relief a major problem which is inherent to the cybernetic medium itself and has to be faced by the libraries, i.e. the intermediators. In turn, the idea of centres of calculation is brought up since it allows to recover services that place a library in action in the cyberspace. An investigation in the network is done based on the elements that indicate that the libraries of the brazilian federal universities operate in the cybernetic medium. It is evident from an analylis of the operators identified in the evolution of these libraries that their traditional pratices have incorporated a process of continuous redefinition in response to technological changes in the fields of communication and information.

    O comportamento no processo de busca da informação por meio das tecnologias da informação e comunicação: um estudo de caso sobre os discentes da Faculdade de Biblioteconomia no Estado do Pará

    It approaches the relationship between the behavior during the process of information seeking and Information Technology and Communication ( ICT ) , treated in an interdisciplinary perspective in the context of undergraduate Librarianship at the Federal University of Pará ( UFPA ) . This study aims to investigate how undergraduate students in Library hold their academic research by examining whether there is successful the results, focusing , in particular , access to academic texts , for reading and textual production of these students , who are in process vocational training . The methodology was as follows: the first with the literature , based on authors such as Kuhlthau ( 1991 , 1999 , 2004 and 2005 ) , Wilson ( 1997 , 1999 , 2000 and 2006 ) and covering contributions of other thinkers on the subject addressed . In the second step , we performed an exploratory and descriptive study of qualitative and quantitative approach with a questionnaire containing closed, open and hybrid questions . The results show that students generally have satisfactory performance in the information seeking process , therefore, perform the process of information retrieval in a proficient manner.

    Os dispositivos e episódios interacionais do Projeto Newton da Universidade Federal do Pará

    This dissertation deals with the analysis of Interactional devices and Interactional Episodes that configure the communication processes of the Newton Project, we are seeking to understand how these processes demonstrate the involvement of technology in the construction of meaning by the participants of the established relationship system. Such processes are called, for Braga (2012c), as Social Invention Interactional Steering, when technology adds value to society, showing that the importance is not in the apparatus but in the communicative processes. The Newton Project is an experimental action, of the Federal University of Pará, for the qualification, of Calculus education to Engineering students. We chose this project as empirical object for tensioning the theory as we consider an innovative proposal in the education field by combining canonical and contemporary practices woven from the media. Thus, we use concepts of Braga (2011c; 2012b), Interactional Devices are the places where we can explain the system of relations and realize the Interactional Episodes, from which we developed the methodology of observation and description indicated by the author. Thus, we analyze the system of relations constituents of communication processes in Newton Project in four identified devices: the Lesson Program, which is configured as the central device of the fabric of communication processes in the Project, as well as tutoring, Moodle and Facebook, these are know to us, as environments of widespread interaction. In the analysis, we find that the interaction processes are tentative and their intensity and their extent depend on the articulations, exchanges and negotiations held by the subjects. Although students, as young people, are accustomed to the use of ITCs in daily life, there is a huge difficulty of breaking culturally constituted educational habits. This occurs not only with students but also with teachers, tutors and others envolved in the project team with members of different backgrounds. Thus, while we realize that education is distant from the meaning of life, it is impossible to turn it into Social Invention Interactional Steering.

    This study focuses on the presence of the reader-writer of stories created and published on the Internet, more specifically, an author who was once a reader of an original story, and decides to continue it (from the moment which its first original writer finished) or modify it in order to please yourself and/or any other readers, because, as Roland Barthes once said (2004), the writer will always be an imitator of his writings prior to that time, but never original. In the stories created by fans-authors (as the authors committed in the writing of this kind of story are called), we study the modification of the concept of authorship nowadays, because the author loses has a new personality as he/she uses some form of information technology - and now handles with something called hybrid genres: texts that are not just pure, but haven‟t a feature to be defined only by common concepts either. Thus it is difficult to define what is, after all, the author in the era of digital genres. At a time when every day people worldwide increase their number of hours browsing, digital genres represent a new relationship between humans and semiotic instrument, with several aspects to be observed.

    The present research has the objective of researching the continuing education of the teachers of the municipal education network of Marabá offered by the Nucleus of Municipal Technology - NTM for the pedagogical use of the New Information and Communication Technologies - NICT. It is therefore necessary to understand to what extent this training has contributed to the process of socialization and production of systematized knowledge, starting with the appropriation of NICT as an articulated means for the purposes of education that has as fundamental presupposition the process of humanization of the individual. Thus, it is sought to analyze in what perspective has occurred the training of teachers for the pedagogical use of ICTs, as well as the process of insertion of these technologies in school education in its entirety. In this sense the objectives of the research in question are to analyze: from the perspective of the teachers the importance of the continuous training for the pedagogical use of the NICT to the process of socialization and production of systematized knowledge; Which conception or pedagogical conceptions guide the formations offered by the NTM and the conditions of incorporation of the NICT into the pedagogical practice. The theoretical framework that guides and supports the analysis of the object of the research in question is historical-critical pedagogy. The option for this pedagogy stems from the fact that it understands education as a process of humanization of the individual by appropriating the cultural elements produced historically by humanity. The training of teachers in this perspective should contribute to the ability of this subject to appropriate the knowledge produced by humanity in more developed forms, which includes the appropriation of ICTs, which should be incorporated into pedagogical practice in the dialectical relationship between ends and means, Therefore, the technological determinism present in the hegemonic discourse. In this way, starting from the principles of historical-critical pedagogy, the research adopts the method of dialectical historical materialistic investigation, whose basic foundation is the apprehension of the real in its essence, from its contradictions and historical determinations. Data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The research was carried out in 7 (seven) municipal schools and NTM schools and 20 (twenty) teachers were interviewed. The research allowed us to understand the contradictions of the hegemonic discourse on the importance of the use of ICT in school education.

    Governança relacional na terceirização de tecnologia da informação: o papel da Teoria da Autodeterminação e o efeito mediador do controle percebido pelos gestores públicos

    Researchers in the field recognize the importance of the relationship between contractor and contractee in the process of Information Technology (IT) outsourcing. However, little is known about the impact of the manager's profile in this process. Thus, the objective of this research was to analyze the impact of the perception of competence, autonomy and relationship of public managers on Relational Governance (RG), as well as, to identify the effect of perceived control in this relationship. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses a quantitative approach to investigate the impact of the behavioral characteristics of IT managers from the Self-Determination Theory (SDT). The data were collected in Brazilian public institutions active in the areas of education, finance, statistics, and technology, and the hypotheses were identified and evaluated using the technique of Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings: The results identified that managers' selfdetermination is related to the perception of control, which consequently this impacts the RG by providing feelings of competence and autonomy capable of building a beneficial relationship with the IT provider. Practical implications: This study, promotes the understanding that upper management needs to support the autonomy of managers to increase their levels of intrinsic motivation when managing supplier deliveries. Originality/value: The application of Self-Determination Theory, to the IT Outsourcing context, provides new insights into the mediation of perceived control by explaining the relationship between managers' expectations and motivations as an important driver for RG.

    O impacto das tecnologias da informação e comunicação na localização dos serviços bancários e sua relação com a estrutura intraurbana da Região Metropolitana de Belém

    It is an exploratory research on the relation between new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), banking and intra-urban structures through the analysis of the changes observed in these services in the last three decades and spatial distribution of their channels of service in the Belém Metropolitan Region (BMR). From conceptual analysis on the new ICTs, it is discussed the relations that have been established between these technologies and the urban space, placing banking services in the context of changes induced by them and analyzing them in relation to Brazil. Among the works that discuss the structure of urban space, it was not identified studies about the consequences of ICTs on this space specifically, nor analysis on the process of intra-urban structuring of BMR. It was searched support in theories of the bank firm location in intra-urban space, which also resulted in a fruitless search. It was decided to conduct an empirical research from the addresses of service channels in two stages: one that deals with the agencies in the period from 1980 to 2010 and the other that covers all the service channels during the course of 2010, for which was developed a sample. The analysis of the maps, tables and graphs, which were created from those addresses, allowed to conclude that new ICTs have enabled the increased quantity and quality of banking services, as well as the diversification of customer service channels, highlighting the virtual access to services. It was found that the spatial location of bank services points has suffered a significant process of decentralization and, through the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and correspondent banks, reached the areas of trade and services of neighborhood, where they are predominantly located, at the expense of subcentralities that were identified. It is questioned the consequences of the unnecessary displacement to the structuring process of the intra-urban Brazilian metropolises and pointed future research developments.

    The study of the legal-medical report as information source, in its aspects of archive documents and informational contents, identifying scenery and the social characters involved in the creation, preservation, transferance, dissemination and use of information, in particular the Legal Medicine and the experts. Its typology is built, as well as attributes, functions, aplications and main constituent parts, besides the concepts and definitions of legal medicine, the specific literature and its most important authors, publications, services and information products, including the Internet. Using this analysis, it s possible to define the data base site for automation, and therefore, hasten the recovering and utilization process of these informations. The medical report, approached in the sphere of action of the police and the justice is emphasized in its social importance, considering the nowadays violence and criminality that characterizes our world at the present time.

    Despite advances in the quality and availability of information and communication technologies (ICT), the level of access and skills in using these resources remains unequal. This is particularly evident in developing countries. To reduce the gap between these levels of employing ICT, organizations (both public and private) invest in the expansion of infrastructure by providing ICT access and ICT training through ICT interventions. In this thesis, it is shown that there is a gap in current approaches to monitor and evaluate large-scale ICT training interventions. Therefore, a methodology is proposed based on the links between participants, social networks analysis and mining. The links represent that participants are at the stage of technological appropriation. This methodology is structured in different levels with specific purposes: (i) to analyze whether there is an intensification of links according to the time in the training; (ii) to analyze the influence of the role or participant's location in communities/clusters; (iii) identify participants with higher participation in training or detect variables associated with low participation. The study scenario for the application of the methodology is the qualification of individuals in Telecentros.BR Program — created in Brazil to install telecenters and qualify individuals to use ICTs. We found that (i) the analysis of interactions in different time periods reflects the objectives of each phase of training, highlighting the increased density in the phase in which participants develop and disseminate their projects; (ii) analysis according to the roles of participants (i.e., tutors or monitors) reveals that the interactions were influenced by the training center (or region) to which the participant belongs (that is, a community contains mainly members of the same region and always with the presence of tutors, contradicting expectations which aimed for intense collaboration of the participants, regardless of the geographic region); (iii) participants of the northeast region of country are associated with the highest degree centrality in social networking platform; (iv) several participants who had low degree centrality reported that the internet was unstable, especially in the north of country.

    Faced with the context of social isolation, caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, a new routine is inserted in the social reality, and its interactions are mediated by technological equipment, whether for work or study. In view of the facts presented, bodily activities, whether school or non-school, undergo profound transformations, it is necessary to investigate how Physical Education has adapted to the pandemic context, how did school Physical Education classes happen? How were sports, recreational and health promotion practices carried out?In this sense, the research entitled "Body Practices and Digital Technologies, Innovations and Challenges for Physical Education" is a descriptive and documentary field research, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, developed in the municipality of Castanhal, where the pedagogical projects of the Physical Education training courses of the main Higher Education Institutions in the municipality were analyzed, in addition to the application of a Google Forms questionnaire with the active Physical Education teachers, with ties to the municipal government, which comprises two secretariats: Secretary of Education (SEMED) and Secretary of Sport and Leisure ( SEMEL); and the other Physical Education teachers with links in the main gyms in the municipality.The main objective of the study was to observe the use of digital technologies and the difficulties faced by Physical Education teachers in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic; in addition to analyzing whether they obtained initial training that supports the use of technologies. The data comes from information collected from the SEMEL and SEMED secretariats, Physical Education teachers and gyms, using structured questionnaires prepared using the Google Forms tool and sent electronically.The data was analyzed and correlated quantitatively using spreadsheets to quantify the frequency of the data and draw up graphs. Thus, it concludes that when analyzing the pedagogical project of the HEIs in the municipality that offer the Physical Education training course, their curricular matrices have only one subject with a technology approach; The main adaptation was mediation by technological tools, such as: internet, camera, smartphones, electronic forms, digital platforms, Facebook and WhatsApp, among others; Regarding the difficulties faced by this group, professional unpreparedness stands out.

    A sociedade da informação no Brasil: um ensaio sobre os desafios do Estado

    This article treats of the challenges the State faces for consolidating an information society in Brazil. These challenges are illiteracy, the need of developing human resources and the difficulty of any citizen in accessing information technology. Information society is understood as something ambivalen for the Brazilian State. It represents challenges but at the same time opportunities for developing an informational order, characterized by very quick changes in a contemporary society. Therefore, the State has to elaborate and apply relevant public policies for overcoming these challenges in order to build up a more evenly accessible information society in Brazil.

    The present research investigates the penetration of Information and Communication Technologies in Brazilian Amazon as manifestation of an Information Society. Initially the context of transformations that caused the emergence of the Information Society on contemporary world is presented, highlighting the importance of the Information and Communication Technologies, and of cities for this society. Then, the role of cities in the historical process of occupation and exploitation of the Amazon is discussed, followed by the presentation of new perspectives for the region under the prevailing techno-economic paradigm. From this context, two variables from the Brazilian Census - the components "computerization" and "internet access" were chosen to be analyzed according to, two distinct frames: a) the first, with emphasizing regional spatial scale, highlighting spatial inequalities of ICT penetration in the territory, b) and the second, taking the city of Maraba-PA as a case study, in order to identify - dynamics associated with the use of ICT in different contexts of Marabá’s urban life. Research results show that there is low penetration of ICT in the Amazon at different spatial scales. This condition is attributed a set of factors, with prominence of precariousness or nonexistence of telecommunications in the Amazon, which impacts the provision of digital services, and consequently reduce considerably the potential of the region and of its cities of being inserted in virtual networks of knowledge and information.

    This research sought to analyze the Integrated System of Management of Academic Activities (SIGAA), as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and its relationship with public management in the organizational context of a Higher Education Institution. A multicase study using mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) was undertaken in two interdisciplinary postgraduate programs - PPGDSTU/NAEA and PPGEDAM/NUMA, of the Federal University of Pará. The study aimed to investigate the usefulness of the SIGAA for the academic and administrative management in these programs based on the reflections of professors, students and technical-administrative staff. The results of the study confirmed that SIGAA is a system that has proven to be useful for the academic-administrative management of the programs under study, in that it was capable of data retrieval and proving information that contribute to the decision-making process. However, in view of some students, SIGAA has been underutilized in response to the resistance of some professors of both programs in exploring all the potentialities present in the system. Thus, it is suggested that there be constant training for all user categories and an institutional policy to stimulate more intensely the use of this technological tool to achieve the objectives of the postgraduate programs, which for are subset of UFPA.

    Trabalho remoto no pós-pandemia: benefícios e desafios no setor de TI do estado do Pará

    The adoption of remote work has enabled companies and employees to adapt to the demands of social distancing, while also bringing benefits such as saving time, reducing commuting costs and improving quality of life. However, this transition has also posed significant challenges, such as difficulties in communication, collaboration between teams and maintaining employee well-being. This master’s thesis investigates the benefits and challenges in the post-pandemic period of Covid-19 through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and an empirical study in the Information Technology (IT) sector in the state of Pará. The SLR analyzed 13 studies from four databases, indicating increased productivity and challenges such as balancing professional and personal life. The empirical study, conducted with managers and employees, revealed that flexibility and time savings were the main benefits, while social isolation and adaptation to new management approaches were the most cited challenges. The findings provide insights for future research on hybrid work models and organizational policies in the IT sector.
