The article discusses the education and third sector policies delimited in the performance of the Instituto Itaú Social [Itaú Social Institute]in the Pacto pela Educação do Pará [Pact for the Education of Pará] The study elected the following research problem: Which nexus are established in the State’s action with Instituto Itaú Social in the unfolding of Basic Education policies for the state of Pará schools network? This work consists in a bibliographic study and field research. The relationship between the state and the third sector is defined by a legal apparatus that ensures its activities in the public space and the appropriation of funds in their actions.
