Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cacau, chocolate e turismo na região transamazônica, Pará: contribuições ao desenvolvimento local(Servicios Académicos Intercontinentales S.L., 2018-12) NUNES, Hyngra Suellen de Jesus; BASTOS, Rodolpho ZahluthThis article aims to analyze the cocoa production inside the local development dynamics of the Transamazônica region, southwest of Pará State. It looks at the possibilities of tourism to contribute to valorization of the production chain in the Transamazônica region. Methodologically, the research is based on bibliographical and documentary analysis and on fieldwork research using semi-structured interviews with public bodies’ staff members, manufacturers of regional chocolate brands, members of civil society organizations (cooperatives, associations), cocoa farmers and agriculturists. The research points out to possibility of greater integration between the cocoa chain and tourism in the Transamazônica. It may occur by integration of tourism with the agrifood sector promoting links between product and territory and thus making relationships between the Transamazônica’s territorial identity and its historical and cultural values and also its regional natural heritage. The analysis allows concluding that tourism associated with the cocoa production chain “from cocoa to chocolate” is an alternative that may contribute to local development in the Transamazônica territory, particularly if it is associated to the historical-cultural richness and natural beauty of the region.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento turístico na Amazônia: uma análise socioespacial fundada nos circuitos da economia urbana em Salinópolis, Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-08-24) SILVA, Cleber Gomes da; TAVARES, Maria Goretti da Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7796891525258446Observing the characteristic differences in income and technological modernization common to underdeveloped countries, present in the Amazonian context, one defends the thesis that the socio-spatial organization of Salinópolis in Pará can be analyzed as a result of a dialectic relationship between the two circuits of the urban economy, constituted in the process of tourism development. This dynamic can be evidenced to some extent by differences in tourist flows; in labor relations; in organization, technology and spatial distribution of firms. In general terms, it presents itself as an alternative to grasp the implications of tourism praxis in urban space. Due to the multiple possibilities of approach on the subject and the need to overcome more economical conceptions, an alternative of critical analysis is sought that has scope in the local reality. For this purpose, a case study was carried out in the municipality of Salinópolis in the state of Pará, made possible by documentary, bibliographic research, interviews and georeferencing of areas appropriate for tourism in the urban space. Representatives of 100 tourist firms were interviewed, specifically from the lodging facilities and restaurants; 100 residents and 200 tourists. Based on the organization of these data, the thesis was organized, in addition to the introduction and conclusion in three more chapters. In the first chapter, the theoretical approaches of the thesis are discussed and in the second, the role of tourism in the socio-spatial formation of the city is described. The third chapter highlights the relationship between tourism development in the production of urban economy circuits, demonstrated from the results of the field research. Concludes that there is a coexistence of two tourism circuits in the urban economy, responsible for inequalities in socio-spatial organization The results of the analysis can directly contribute to the formulation of proposals for policies, projects and research that allow the emergence of tourism reproduction alternatives capable of contemplating the interests of society at the local scale.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Diagnóstico socioambiental e estratégias comunitárias de conservação e ecoturismo no Baixo Tocantins, Mocajuba-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-07-16) MELO, Fernando Bosco de Sousa; COSTA, Gabriel Brito; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0980355943575182; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5254-489X; CUNHA, Janice Muriel Fernandes Lima da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4027012189701116This study aimed to support socio-environmental management and conservation of socio biodiversity in the lower tocantins, municipality of mocajuba-pa. The socio-environmental diagnosis was carried out using a SWOT matrix recording the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with land use and tourism activities with aquatic mammals in the region. Some of the weaknesses and threats recorded include: i) the susceptibility of accidents involving dolphins and boats; ii) deforestation of riparian vegetation in the tocantins river; and; iii) the absence of a basic sanitation policy in the municipality of mocajuba-pa. We present recommendations for land use planning, reforestation with native trees between the city's neighborhoods, as well as planning of non-invasive dolphin-watching tourism activities. We recommend the creation of a conservation unit as a public policy for the conservation of local socio-biodiversity and its ecosystem services. We propose an evaluation of the application of community-based tourism for the benefit of the local population, articulated with the conservation of aquatic fauna and socio-environmental sustainability. This study contributes to strategies for achieving goals for SDG 14 and SDG 6 (UN, AGENDA-2030).Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Emília Snethlage e Heloísa Alberto Torres: gênero, ciência e turismo na Amazônia do século XX(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-08-04) ALBERTO, Diana Priscila Sá; PACHECO, Agenor Sarraf; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5839293025434267The presence of women in the history of science, especially in the Western world, is intertwined with the very constitution of this field of knowledge, but for a long time they have remained in the shadows of male performance. The historical science, since its birth, has marked the "man" as the central character of the narratives and, even though some scholars pointed out that women were included in this historical being, the disciplinary field of history kept them away from the stage of mankind's sociocultural formation. Scientific travel, from the 19th century on, proved to be a rich path to problematize this vision and the meanings of its silences, allowing interpretative connections between science, gender, and tourism. The history of female participation in the history of sciences in the Amazon in the 20th century, focusing on the performance and legacy of two women scientists, one German and one Brazilian, Emília Snethlage (1868-1929) from the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi - MPEG and Heloísa Alberto Torres (1895-1977) from the Museu Nacional do Rio de Janeiro - MNRJ, is the central theme of this thesis. These scientists, who lived experiences in regions of Brazil, especially in the Amazon, used tactics to build an important path in their fields of expertise in the natural sciences (ornithology) and humanities (anthropology). Their expeditions left important clues for the investigation of the history of tourism in the region, by presenting elements that made up the modern tourist phenomenon, such as lodging, food, and transportation. From this contextualization, the objective of this work was to investigate, in the light of studies on the history of science, gender and tourism, the female participation played, in particular, by Emília Snethlage and Heloísa Alberto Torres, in the construction of scientific knowledge in the Amazon in the early twentieth century, entering into their professional trajectories, strategies and their respective universes. In relation to the problematic, the question was asked about the importance of the role of women in the history of science in Brazil and how was the specific participation of these scientists in the Amazon? The research was based on Edward P. Thompson with Social History and his reflections on experience and tactics in everyday life; Carlo Ginzburg with Micro-History when entering in the indications of other paths taken by them; Michelle Perrot, Londa Schiebinger and Anne McClintock when referencing the role of women in the scientific field, helping to inquire forms of coloniality experienced in the daily life and work of Emília and Heloisa. As far as tourism studies are concerned, we dialogued with Paulo de Assunção, Alexandre Panosso Netto, and Helena Doris. A. B. Quaresma when dealing with the reflection of the tourist phenomenon and its openings in history and research in the Amazon. The methodological path traced clues of the performance of these women of science in the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, Guilherme de La Penha Archives. Files on Emília Snethlage were also searched in virtual media at the Biblioteca Nacional Digital and at the Museu de Astronomia e Ciências Afins, where a collection on Heloísa Alberto Torres was found. The documentary research started in 2018 and went on until mid-2022, mainly by virtual environment, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. To answer the problematic of the thesis, the research mapped and analyzed evidence in newspapers, articles produced by these scientists, personal and institutional letters, and novels, which made visible experiences and practices of these scientists in their institutions and in the daily life of research in the Amazon. Based on these findings, the thesis demonstrates that Emília and Heloísa played a fundamental role in the construction of science in the Amazon, through their actions and "world sensibilities", at a time of full hegemony of male domination in the scientific field. These women built their trajectories in ornithology and anthropology in such a way that their publications and scientific achievements spread beyond their institutions, making their mark in the history of science in Brazil and abroad. Furthermore, the trips have revealed new directions for understanding the tourist phenomenon in the Amazon region, since they have used the constituent elements of the practice in the activity. Thus, they contributed to think the emergence of a new epistemology about tourist trips.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) A farinha d’água de Bragança: sua rota turística e seu processo de patrimonialização(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-09) PICANÇO, Miguel de Nazaré BritoThe objective of this article is to describe and analyze the experiences and practices of Bragança flour producers and other exogenous subjects in the Bragantine context, who have elevated cassava and its flour to the city's food heritage, providing them in spectacular contexts such as: television programs and festivals. Data from this study were collected in field trips from 2017 to 2018, but also results from collections from secondary sources such as newspapers, websites and television and indicate that Bragança's water flour is in a moderate but continuous process of patrimonialization.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Jardins botânicos: preservação, práticas sociais, gestão e turismo no ambiente urbano(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-08-28) CARDOSO, Silvia Laura Costa; MIRANDA, Elis Araujo; FIGUEIREDO, Silvio José de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2578700144404800; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6810-1639This thesis analyzes the dynamics in the field of management relations in urban botanical gardens. The main objective of the research was to analyze the management processes implemented in the urban botanical gardens of Belém do Pará, from a trajectory based on the relationships between the field agents of the botanical gardens and their management, in the configuration of a relational field through the urban and environmental public policies and its consequences in planning and management, in three urban green public spaces: Bosque Rodrigues Alves - Zoobotanical Garden of the Amazon, the Paraense Emilio Goeldi Museum - Zoobotanical Park and the Mangal das Garças Natural Park, a in order to understand whether the practices that qualify botanical gardens influence the management of these public spaces. At the same time, it presents the analysis of management experiences in the urban botanical gardens of Brasília, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba, whose objective was to identify the characteristics of the management processes implemented that favored the understanding of the paraense botanical gardens scenario. The study with an interdisciplinary character performs a theoretical-methodological intersection, and its reference framework is the approach of the Social Field associated with the study of the dynamics characterized by management processes and social practices in urban green public spaces. Of a qualitative nature, the research was carried out based on exploratory studies through the combination of bibliographic research, document analysis, field research and survey, with simple observation and non-directive interviews with the agents who relate to and / or influence them. Idiosyncrasies are evidenced among discourses and practices of environmental management. The analyzed forms of management still present gaps and difficulties for a broader performance, since the environmental aspects are presented as a peripheral theme and little articulated with the other environmental and urban policies. The implementation of gardens, by itself, does not guarantee the sustainability of natural resources in an effective way, either due to the discontinuity in the maintenance of its infrastructure and its personnel, or even due to the low involvement of social agents that are directly or indirectly related to the space. green. Due to the different forms of management, it is not possible to state which is the best model to manage an urban botanical garden due to local peculiarities. Therefore, what should be more than one form of management to be implemented by each garden, according to their needs and interests, and to achieve the challenges that arise, it depends on the way in which the necessary actions will be implemented for its effective reach, in which institutional capacity should be the object of specific and continuous actions, combined with greater popular democratic participation in decision-making. The role of botanical gardens in the RBJB is still incipient, due to political disarticulation among members, the vulnerability of strengthening and cooperation of the institutional organization, as promoters of public policies for botanical gardens, linked to low social participation. These are relevant factors to be considered when formulating an effective environmental management proposal.
