Universidade e trabalho: uma análise das pesquisas de pós-graduação sobre trabalho na UFPA

This thesis investigates the relationship between university and work, and it aims to understand which are the working concepts underlying the research graduate, held at the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), based on the academic productions presented in forms of theses and dissertations. It also analyzes the contributions of the University forward to work, and consider the different perspectives and antithetical to put the relationship between university and work. This thesis uses the methodology of qualitative research document type, and the data were guided by the Content Analysis. The literature review and document analysis have contributed to building understanding of the Brazilian university, whose process is recent and controversial and is related to the production of science and technology and also the training of professionals, a demand that society, so the university has as fundamental to the development of the country. Forty-six dissertations and nineteen theses of “Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação”, “Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Sociais” and “Programa de Pós-Graduação em Desenvolvimento Sustentável do Trópico Úmido” of UFPA were analyzed and the results demonstrate that the Brazilian university assumes a heteronomous and hegemonic conception, although there is some experiences building institutional models based on conceptions centered on work as an educational principle, and training workers to face the capital. This antithetical condition is manifested in research at the UFPA. The conclusion is that most research conceives work as the foundation of humanization of man or as an educational principle, based on Marxist theory, but some still reflect clearly the duality between work and education, guided by the logic of capital and very close to the theory liberal.
