Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação da biologia reprodutiva de Plagioscion squamosissimus (HECKEL, 1840) e Plagioscion surinamensis (BLEEKER, 1873) no terminal de Vila do Conde e área adjacente (Barcarena - PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-04-29) BARBOSA, Neuciane Dias; ROCHA, Rossineide Martins da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4371300451793081; FRÉDOU, Flávia Lucena; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4779271407117528The Port of Vila do Conde, situated in the city of Barcarena/PA, have been exposed to a number of environmental disasters in recent years which can eventually cause the disequilibrium of the use that the aquatic resources make of the environment and consequently to the ecosystem as a whole. Artisanal fishery in this region is relevant, detaching Plagioscion squamosissimus and P.surinamensis as the mains sources of income and food for the population. The objective of this study was to describe the areas of concentration and the reproductive biology of P. squamosissimus and P. surinamensis in the adjacent area of Vila do Conde, mainly identifying the importance of the use of these environments for reproduction. Aiming to identify to the period and fishing sites of greater species abundance, it was obtained the index of abundance CPUE (Kg/viagem) based on data collected from June 2007 to May 2008. The determination of the use of the area for reproduction and the description of reproductive biology was based on 40 to 53 individuals of each species collected from the commercial fishery in a bimensal basis. In laboratory, total length and total weight was registered and gonads were removed for the identification of sexual maturity. The abundance of P. squamosissimus is maximum between September and February and for P. surinamensis it is registered between March the May. The weight-length relationship showed isometry for the females of P. squamosissimus and for both sexes of P. surinamensis. For males of P. squamosissimus positive alometry was registered. The sexual ratio was favorable to the males for P. surinamensis (1,05male: 1female) and favorable to the females (1,11female: 1male) for P. squamosissimus. The value of L50 (length at first maturity) for P. squamosissimus was 16,14 cm for females and 21,43 cm for males. The length at first maturity for P. surinamensis was 27,65 cm for females and 27,13 cm for the males. The percentage of individuals in reproduction of the P. squamisissimus is considerable. The peak of the reproduction of this species (October/November and February/March) coincides with the peak of abundance, indicating that this species is in the area for reproduction. P.surinamensis presented greater percentage of immature and maturing individuals, indicating that this species uses this area mainly as a nursery. For P. surimamensis, reproductive individuals was mainly reported in August/September and October/November.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A ictiofauna no monitoramento da qualidade ambiental em um distrito industrial do estuário amazônico(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) VIANA, Andréa Pontes; ROCHA, Rossineide Martins da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4371300451793081; FRÉDOU, Flávia Lucena; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4779271407117528The district of Vila do Conde, in the municipality of Barcarena, is a prominent industrial hub, constituting a risk factor for water quality. Given this, the present study focused on the environmental quality of the aquatic habitats adjacent to this site, using the fish community as a bioindicator and liver two species of fish as a biomarker histopathological. The collection of abiotic data (water samples) and fish specimens was organized in three distinct zones, representing different levels of impact. Zone 1 was located in the vicinity of the Vila do Conde cargo terminal, where the risk of contamination was highest. Zone 2 was in the Capim Island, located on the border between the municipalities of Bacarena and Abaetetuba, classified as a median risk area due to its relative proximity to the port. Zone 3 was in Onças Island, which was classified as minimum risk, due to its distance from the industrial district of Vila do Conde. Two different types of environment – the main river channel and marginal tidal creek were sampled in all three zones. Samples were collected every two months, covering the region’s principal climatic periods - rainy-dry transition (June 2009), dry season (September 2009), dry-rainy transition (January 2010), rainy season (April 2010), in one year collection. Data was collected using monofilament gillnets and block net. Aiming to evaluate the water quality considering different tools, this study was divided into three parts. In the the first part, the icthyofauna was used as an bioindicator of water quality (Chapter 1). In the second part, two species abundant with different feeding habits, Plagioscion squamosissimus and Lithodoras dorsalis, to assess the health of the environment through the use of liver as a biomarker histopathological (Chapter 2). Finally, all families of descriptors (chapters 1 and 2), were combined into biological integrity indexes in chapter 3. The analysis of the icthyofauna as an bioindicator showed differences in the composition between zones and environments (main channel and tidal creek), for the different groups of descriptors. Considering the 77 species captured, only 23 species were recorded in comparison with the less impacted areas. Also, large fish were least common in zone 1. In the present study, the smaller proportion of larger-sized fish recorded in the impacted areas may reflect an ecological response to anthropogenic disturbance. Biomarker analysis, carried out through the liver histopatologic study, was efficient to detect the influence of antropogenic factors in the heatlh of P. squamosissimus e L. dorsalis. The MAV (Mean Assessment Values), HAI (Histological Alteration Index) e o MDS (multidimensional scaling) analysis all indicated clear differences between the areas surveyed. The alterations were more severe (in some cases, irreversible) in zone 1, which was closest to the port and the industrial district. The principal alterations observed in the tissue of both species included an increase in the number of melanomacrophagous centers, fatty degeneration, inflammation, congestion, hepatitis, and focal necrosis. The hepatic alterations observed in the present study were generally more intense in the carnivorous P. squamosissimus, which feeds mainly on shrimp in the region of the study area. Though integrity indexes, all community information were combined into metrics. In the present study, considering the ABC curve, in the main channel and creek, the zones 1 and 2 were classified as moderately disturbed, which predicts an increase in the relative abundance of opportunistic species. The BHI (Estuarine biological health index), EFCI (Estuarine fish community índex), TFCI (Transitional fish classification índex) e EBI (Estuarine biotic integrity index) were considered to be excellent indicators of the ecological integrity of the different sectors of the study area, and were especially effective for the demonstration of the critical alterations of the fish community of zone 1. It was also possible to identify alterations to the environment of zone 2. The procedures adopted in the present study were nevertheless adequate for the detection of the alterations to the environment which have occurred in the vicinity of the town’s industrial district and cargo terminal and are able to be replicted in others estuarine areas. However, more reliable information on the bio-accumulation of heavy metals in these species will be necessary. This is especially important due to the prominence of both species in the diet of the local communities.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pesca e ictiofauna na área adjacente ao terminal de Vila do Conde - Pará, Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-05-08) PAZ, Alexsandra Câmara; FRÉDOU, Thierry; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8119220407894290; FRÉDOU, Flávia Lucena; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4779271407117528The city of Barcarena – PA is situated in south Bay of Marajó. This region is an important industrial pole and despite the great importance of the fishery and the imminence of an environmental disaster, there are not reported any studies deeped concerning the fishery and fish assemblage in the area. With the objective of describing the fishing activity and fish assemblage in Barcarena, landings were monitored in the market of Barcarena and Praia do Conde from December 2005 to November 2006. Moreover, the fishery boats were recorded using specialized log-books and trained personnel from the community. The index of relative abundance CPUE (kg/trip) was used to identify the most important species and their catch period, seasonality of the fleet, gears and fishing sites. It was registered 74 fishing boats and “barcos de pequeno porte” dominated. It was observed technological differences between the two landing sites, except when considered the length between categories. Fishing boats from the market show a greater crew, fishing days and mean catch by month. Fishing boats from Vila do Conde use mainly long lines whilst those from the market use mainly gill nets. During the year 2006, fishing boats from Vila do Conde operated from Ilha do Capim to “furo do Arrozal”, whilst market boats operated from Cutaju to Cotijuba. Fleet followed the catch period of the main species, dourada (Brachyplatystoma rousseauxii), South American silver croaker (Plagioscion squamosissimus), kumakuma (Brachyplatystoma filamentosum) and yellowfin river pellona (Pellona flavipinnis) and Amazon pellona (P. castelnaeana) grouped in yellowfin river pellona. Market fleet´s CPUE was 19 kg/trip and from Vila do Conde was 11 kg/trip. The catch period in the region is from October to May peaking in the first trimester. Trips operating with gill nets show greater CPUE when compared to long lines. The main species captured by gill nets is South American silver croaker and by long lines is dourada. CPUE from non-motorized boats is smaller than the motorized ones. Dourada was regular and abundant during all year for all study area. It was not observed differences between gears, trimesters and fishing sites. Kumakuma was most abundant form October to March, peaking in January and caught mainly by long lines and in Cutaju with 55 kg/trip. South American silver croaker was also regular and abundant during all year. This species was caught mainly with gill nets and in Carnapijó. Yellowfin river pellona occurred from October to May, peaking in October, caught mainly by the fleet of Vila do Conde with gill nets and the main fishing site is Estacamento. A total production in Barcarena was estimated in 200 tons generating R$ 724.431,00 for the city. Dourada contributed with 31% of total production and 46 % of the Gross revenue. October was the most productive month with 23% of the production and 15% of the Gross revenue. “Barcos de Pequeno Porte” contributed with 37% of the production and 41% of the gross revenue.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Políticas e tensões entre o porto e o espaço escolar em vila do conde – Barcarena/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-05-13) REIS, Rejane Costa dos; SILVA, Marilena Loureiro da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7261982145077537This paper will present a study on school Wandick Gutierrez in Vila do Conde, in Barcarena in the state of Pará The goal is to understand how it materializes practices of environmental education in the school from the insertion of Knowledge and Program Social Responsibility practices in school Wandick Gutierrez: social and educational activities in the neighborhoods surrounding the Port of Vila do Conde - PROSPRS conducted jointly by the Federal University of Pará-UFPa through the Research Group on Education, Culture and Environment-GEAM and Company Para Docks - CDP for the period 2011-2012. The theoretical framework is bolstered by historical materialism dialectical perspective of critical environmental education and this included the analysis of documents related to the program, and school documents, and review of the literature and experiences in everyday school studied. The research involved semi-structured interviews directed the school management, teachers and pedagogical coordination; questionnaires, with students, responsible students, program staff and CDP. Some of the authors who helped us to understand the context studied were: Marx (1967, 1998) Frederico Loureiro (2005, 2007), Marilena Loureiro (2007), Saviani (2006), Paulo Freire (1996, 2000), Frigotto (2012 ) Oliveira (2005), among others. The survey provided an opportunity to realize that in the discourse of the interviewees, and in reading the reports PROSPRS been attempts to relate the actions of the program from the concrete reality of the community of Vila do Conde, the actions taken by the program eventually trigger experiences / perceptions environmental subject in school is not experienced by those, like the construction of gardens and composting at school, however, I understand that such discourses still require deeper knowledge of their own making environment. However, the environmental actions that began in the school environment Wandick Gutierrez are relevant to a discussion reflexive critical for all individuals involved in this process.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Risco tecnológico: uma análise do porto de Vila do Conde como área potencial de ameaça ao vazamento de óleo para comunidades em situação de vulnerabilidade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008) RODRIGUES, José Edilson Cardoso; SZLAFSZTEIN, Cláudio Fabian; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1348005678649555The present work was accomplished at Conde’s Village, municipal district of Barcarena in Pará State, with objective of studying the technological hazards related to the oil leak, aiming the real menace situations and the vulnerability of the local population. The methodology based on three stages: bibliographical rising on the concept of technological risk; field work for the Identification and characterization of the menace areas in the port zone and of the area of vulnerability in Conde's Village through technical visits, interviews, application of questionnaires, observations and photographic registrations; and finally cartographic rising and use of satellite images IKONOS for delimitation of the menace areas in the port, setorization of Conde's Village and for the making of thematic maps. In the port zone of Conde's Village we identified as main menace areas to the leak: moorings area, where the leant against practice, load, discharge and provisioning of ships and rafts with combustible oil are constant, presenting menace level that is going of a lot the extremely probable of happening; Access area, defined by the bridge through where it travels the pipeline, presenting menace level as probable of happening leak and the stock area, where it concentrates the storage tanks and platforms of provisioning presenting menace level that is going of the probable to very probable of happening leak. In Conde's Village the social vulnerability pointed that the population of the section river, in most fishermen, it presents larger vulnerability degree, proceeded by the inhabitants of the section beach, as owners of huts, that present medium vulnerability degree, and with low vulnerability degree they are the inhabitants of the section firm earth. Therefore, a casualty with oil will cart a reaction that it is angered to diffuse at the whole Villa, interrupting the main change flows between the groups and its respective activities.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Simulação da dispersão de poluentes atmosféricos e avaliação da qualidade do ar na área de abrangência do Distrito Industrial de Barcarena-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-04-30) ARAÚJO, Ivan Roberto Santos; ROCHA, Edson José Paulino da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2313369423727020The atmospheric pollution is considered, nowadays, one of the biggest problems of the contemporaneous society, turning into a menace to its life quality, because generates negative impacts in the natural and anthropogenic environment. In the range of the forms to control atmospheric pollution originated by settled sources, come forth the emission dilution in the atmosphere due to dispersal effects, the adoption of control equipments before the casting of gases or the relocation of the source, cause it seems to be a suggested form during the environmental licensing process enterprises with potential air pollution. Currently computer models of dispersion of atmospheric pollutants are being largely used on the simulation of concentration of pollutants, objecting to help environmental agencies in the prognostic of air quality or to supply deficiencies of atmospheric emissions monitoring. The present research studies the air quality e evaluates the atmospheric pollutants dispersal over Vila do Conde and influence areas of the industrial district of Barcarena, state of Para, with the help of the AERMOD View model, considering the possibility of establishment of a relation between the levels of pollutants emissions in the source, with the concentration of them in the air and identify critical points of pollution as well. The Air Quality Index – IQA and the fragility of the population over the affected areas by the atmospheric pollutants were also measured in the research. The methodology used allowed to measure the mean concentration of atmospheric pollutants during a defined time of modeling and also information about the reaching of the pollutants plume were acquired. Information concerning the relation between the peak and the mean values of concentration in the receptive areas provoked by enterprises that have operational characteristics similar to the modeled are showed too. The results show that the influence of the meteorological parameters in the dispersion of pollutants are indispensable and determinants in the impact on the air quality prevision and also in the land use planning of areas that have atmospheric polluting activities.
