These places were always placed as "the other", as vulnerable, as "problems". From a state point of view, these problems must be addressed through removals, militarization, the real estate market, among other different ways of managing a given population. Or simply, it can be left at the mercy of a purposeful precariousness in a time of crisis. Therefore, this study will use the city of Rio de Janeiro as a case study to exemplify the different production and management.Acesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/RemoçõesFavelasCovid-19GestãoEstadoRemovalsManagementStateGestão dos corpos nas favelas e periferias no Rio de Janeiro: das remoções à Covid-19Management of bodies in favelas and peripheries in Rio de Janeiro: from removals to Covid-19Artigo de Periódico10.18542/mri.v15i24.10087
