Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18751The research is carried out in the area that covers the Marapanim river basin, a region located in the Northeast of Pará, with the aim of helping to locate areas vulnerable to erosive processes, classifying such areas on a scale of approximate values from 1.0 to 3, 0 according to the method proposed by Edson Crepani Doctor in General Geology and Application, where it classifies these areas as stable when close to 1.0, close to 2.0 as moderately stable and when close to 3.0 vulnerable. The application of the proposed method requires the use of satellite images to assist in obtaining data on morphological and environmental characteristics of the region, followed by the use of geographic information systems software to prepare the maps presented in the research results. The Marapanim river basin has a considerable area of forest formation, mainly in the southern part, in contrast there are also pasture areas being more frequent in the northern part, however, the basin areas were classified as stable for the most part, with values between 1 .0 to 1.4. Some points were classified as moderately stable vulnerable, with values between 1.8 and 2.2. Moderately stable with values between 2.2 to 2.6 and some points were pointed out as vulnerable, values were between 2.6 to 3.0 most of these areas are close to urban regions and where degraded pastures are found.
