In the Baixo Tocantins region, artisanal fishing stands out following the decline of sugar mills (1975), where riverside residents seek fishing as an alternative to guarantee the livelihood of their families, making it a profession of great economic, social and social value. cultural. Despite its importance, artisanal fishing is negatively impacted, especially by the construction of the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Plant in the 1980s. Due to the damming of the Tocantins River by the hydroelectric plant, a crisis arises in the artisanal fishing sector, triggering conflicts between fishermen and riverside dwellers in around fishing resources, encouraging them to seek strategies to alleviate conflicts and regulate access to and use of fish, especially mapará. From this perspective, experiences of shared management created based on the demands of riverside dwellers and artisanal fishermen emerge - the so-called fishing agreements. The aim of the work is to analyze the process of renegotiating the Mapará (Hypophthalmus edentatus) fishing agreement in the Anapu River, in the interior of the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, reporting how this process went from the division of the fishing territory into two groups (group from below and group from above), and the involvement of intercommunity conflicts between users of fishing resources, the research was developed under an autoethnographic work regime which, as a method, understands fieldwork as an experience lived by the subject who belongs to the locus of empirical research. Data were collected through 12 interviews with riverside dwellers and fishermen from the Anapu River community.
