Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18173Deal with the access of indigenous peoples to the health services of the Unified Health System (SUS), via the Indigenous Health Care subsystem, a component of the SUS, established under the Law no. 9,836/99, of September 23, 1999, is the purpose of the thesis. Based on the Truká People, we gather the experience and theoretical arguments to demonstrate that the subsystem will never be able to replace the diverse indigenous knowledge and, even less, the health systems of the original peoples. The action system for traditional health must be used interculturally with the SUS Indigenous Health Care subsystem, which will be at the back of care to guarantee access to public health facilities at medium and high complexity levels, considering, respecting and ensuring respect for the most diverse forms of internal organizations of the peoples with a view to promoting the intermedicality that must take place respecting the cultural beliefs and therapeutic practices articulated to the interests and customs of each indigenous people, adapting the practices of public establishments to guarantee forms of reception with a view to equity without prejudice to the other norms established in the Constitution.
