Acesso em: .https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/17926This research analyzes symbolic disputes and meanings that permeate the socio- environmental conflicts of Anapu, Pará, with an emphasis on the cases of Dorothy Stang and Geraldo Magela, crimes tried in the Jury Court, a theatrical ritual in which characters and dramas are created to convince jurors in a game of persuasion. The dissertation was constructed through a combination of fieldwork, documentary analysis, theoretical review, and ethnography of socio-environmental conflict, investigating how antagonistic narratives about these actors and their legacies are produced and disputed in public and legal arenas. To this end, interviews were conducted with farmers, religious leaders, and lawyers, in addition to observation of events and public interviews, to investigate the role of gender, liberation theology, and the criminalization of the struggle for agrarian reform within these narratives about what is happening in Anapu. The study demonstrates that in interactive cases, the jury trial serves as a space where the region's history of socio-environmental conflicts comes to light, and representations of social movements fighting for land, violence, and human rights are tense. Finally, this research concludes that the dispute over who are the victims and who is responsible for the violence in Anapu remains active, reflecting the ongoing socio-environmental conflict and land inequalities in the Amazon region of Pará.ptAcesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Antropologia jurídicaDorothy StangConflito socioambientalTribunal do júriLegal anthropologySocio-environmental conflictJury court"Ela não era uma santa" e "eles estavam desbaratinados": as narrativas dos conflitos socioambientais da Amazônia reveladas no tribunal do júri.DissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::SOCIOLOGIACNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::ANTROPOLOGIAAÇÕES PÚBLICA E COLETIVA, TERRITÓRIO E AMBIENTEANTROPOLOGIA
