However, there are projects better suited to traditional methodologies and others to agile methodologies. Some companies have combined traditional and agile practices in hybrid project management models. In this context, this article presents an action research that resulted in the definition and instantiation of a hybrid process consisting of practices from the SCRUM and RUP frameworks in a real software development project. This process was evaluated through the peer review, proving to be satisfactory in following the premises of both frameworks, in project management and in meeting the Plan, Do, Check and Act (PDCA) cycle.
