At the age of 30, he entered in the journalist field through Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880), He was hailed as the founder of Psychological Horror, as well distinguished as the father of the modern short story. Among the periodicals that published the productions signed by Maupassant, A Província do Pará (1874 -) deserves to be highlighted fot not only dedicate spaces for the author’s fictional production but also for share his critical articles. Political, commercial and newspaper, A Província still be, between interruptions and restarts, a page of enormous strength in Belém’s journalistic scene since the 19th century.
