The main purpose here is to study the meaning of those changes, the organization and, above all, to understand how they were used to strengthen the new regime at the heart of local society. The present study examines not only those commemorative dates, but also the frequent political gatherings, called banquets, held by elite citizens. This research was judged worth taking, because it allows a new approach to discuss the ideas, characters, speeches, plots, and alliances performed in this decisive political period of local and national history.porAcesso AbertoHistória socialHistória, 1890-1911RepúblicaPolítica de governoPoderEvento (Comunicação social)Pará - EstadoAmazônia brasileiraA república paraense em festa (1890-1911)DissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::HISTORIA::HISTORIA DO BRASIL::HISTORIA DO BRASIL REPUBLICA
