Acesso em: .https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18679Bariatric surgery is one of the methods in treating obesity, requiring psychological and nutritional support. However, limitations in follow-up persist, especially due to the lack of precise psychological protocols in Brazil. Beyond weight regain, body image dissatisfaction and dysfunctional eating behavior are crucial in the long term. This study analyzed 398 post bariatric surgery patients, identifying correlations between nutritional/psychological support and variables. Results showed a high negative correlation (p < .001) between pre-surgery psychological support and pre-surgery nutritional support (R=0.280), suggesting that patients with fewer prior psychologist consultations sought more nutritional assistance. Similarly, a negative correlation (p < .001) was observed between pre-surgery psychological support and post-surgery nutritional support (R=0.470), indicating that fewer pre-surgery psychologist consultations were associated with greater post-surgery nutritional guidance-seeking. The positive correlation (p < .001) between pre-surgery psychological support and post-surgery psychological support (R=0.399) demonstrated that greater pre-surgery support related to increased post-surgery continuity. Body image satisfaction correlated negatively (p < .01) with pre-surgery nutritional support (R=0.140), implying that more consultations were associated with less dissatisfaction with body image. Post-surgery eating behavior correlated with postsurgery psychological/nutritional support. Furthermore, body image satisfaction correlated with eating behavior and weight regain (p < .001). Weight regain correlated with eating behavior (R=0.219) and body image satisfaction (p < .001, R=0.219). These correlations underscore the importance of multidisciplinary support to optimize post-surgical outcomes, particularly concerning eating behavior and body image satisfaction. Further studies are needed to comprehend the complexity of these associations.Acesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Cirurgia bariátricaBariatric surgeryReganho de pesoWeight regainComportamento alimentarEating behaviorSatisfação com a imagem corporalBody image satisfactionAcompanhamento psicológicoPsychological supportNutritional supportAcompanhamento nutricionalImpacto do acompanhamento nutricional e psicológico no pós-cirúrgico de pessoas submetidas a cirurgia bariátrica no BrasilImpact of nutritional and psychological follow-up in post surgery of people undergoing bariatric surgery in BrazilDissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::NUTRICAOCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::PSICOLOGIAProcessos Comportamentais BásicosNEUROCIÊNCIAS E COMPORTAMENTO
